Ralph Joseph Winnow, Bradenton
Ralph Joseph Winnow, 86, of Bradenton, died Sept. 7, 2002, in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
There will be no service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, Ohio. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary, Westlake Village, California, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Continental, Ohio, Mr. Winnow came to Manatee County from Defiance in 1983. He was the vice president of Hudson Products Inc. He was Roman Catholic. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 117, Elks Lodge 147, and the Knights of Columbus of Defiance.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Ann Reineke of Newbury Park, Calif.; a son, Thomas, of Defiance; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ancel Burdette Carder, Bradenton
Ancel Burdette Carder, 77, of Bradenton, died Sept. 10, 2002, at home.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday at the family's home at 3704 Faculty Drive, Lynchburg, Va. Tharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Lynchburg, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Va. 24503.
Born in Wilbur, W.Va., Mr. Carder served with the Huntington, W.Va., Police Department as a police officer before retiring to Bradenton. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, seeing action at Majuro Atoll and Okinawa, and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, a 32nd Degree Mason and was involved with the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hart; a son, Michael Lawrence, of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; a daughter, Cathy Dawn Finch of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Alice Sauer of Point Pleasant; a brother, Axtel, of Blacksburg, Va.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mazie A. Coyle, Bradenton
Mazie A. Coyle, 77, of Bradenton, died Sept. 12, 2002, at Blake Medical Center.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home's Mansion Chapel, 1400 36th Ave. E., Ellenton. Services will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor India Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton.
Born in Hamilton Ohio, Mrs. Coyle came to Manatee County in 1948 from Hamilton. She was one of the original two sisters of Two Sisters Restaurant in Palmetto from 1949 to 1959. She was also one of the founders of Palm View Hills Golf Course in Palmetto, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Jack, of San Francisco; five sisters, Cleo Scarborough of Bradenton, Helen Haggard of Amelia, Ohio, Darlene Lewis, Barbara Bailey and Rose Marie Willis, all of Hamilton; and a brother, Darrel Willis of Hamilton.

Jay E. Fennimore, Yakima, Wash.
Jay E. Fennimore, 43, of Yakima, Wash., and formerly of Bradenton, died July 8, 2002, in Yakima.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home's Manasota Chapel, 121 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton.
Born in Bradenton, Mr. Fennimore was Methodist. He was an electrician.
Survivors include his brother, Scott, of Buford, Ga., his parents, John and Mary Lou, of Bradenton; and his grandmother Mary Jane Albritton of Bradenton.

Robert "Bob" Johnson, Ellenton
Robert "Bob" Johnson, 81, of Ellenton, died Sept. 12, 2002, at home.
There will be no services. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home's Mansion Chapel, 1400 36th Ave. E.,Ellenton, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Gary, Ind., Mr. Johnson came to Manatee County from Merrillville, Ind., in 1996. He owned and operated Johnson Transfer and Storage for over 36 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a life member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Lynn"; two daughters, Barbara Koski of Osceola, Mo., and Karen McLeod of Primms Creek, Tenn.; a son, Charles Donald, of Berthoud, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Victorine M. Leach, Bradenton
Victorine M. Leach, 73, of Bradenton died Sept. 13, 2002, at Integrated Health Services of Bradenton.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Robarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Donora, Pa., Mrs. Leach came to Manatee County in 1987 from Fairless Hills, Pa. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph E.; three sons, Joseph E. II, of Kintnerville, Pa., David A., of Bristol, Pa., and Darrell W., of Levittown, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Kovacik of Sarasota and Frances Lauer of Southampton, Pa.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Gary K. McMillen, Port Charlotte
Gary K. McMillen, 50, of Port Charlotte and formerly of Manatee County, died Sept. 7, 2002, at home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Port Charlotte Beach Park. Memorial contributions may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33612. Paul Schelm Funeral Home, Port Charlotte, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Sarasota, Col. McMillen was raised in Manatee County. He served in the U.S. Army as an officer for 27 years, including service in the Gulf War, before retiring in 2001. Among his decorations were the Defense Superior Service Award, two awards of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, nine awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, two awards of the Army Commendation Medal, two awards of the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, and the Saudi Kuwait Liberation Medal. He was Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela; a son, Jason K., of Chesapeake, Va.; his mother, Betty, of Sarasota; and two brothers, Kenneth, of Sarasota and Jay B., of Naples.

Shirley A. Metelski, Sarasota
Shirley A. Metelski of Sarasota and formerly of Bradenton, died Sept. 9, 2002, in Sarasota.
There will be no memorial service. Hawkins Funeral Home, 135 N. Lime Ave., Sarasota, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1750 17th St. Suite A, Sarasota, Fla. 34234.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Metelski came to Manatee County from Marlboro, N.J., in 1977. She lived in Bradenton and Sarasota for the past 25 years. She retired as a certified public accountant. She was Episcopalian. She belonged to the DeSoto Palm-Aire Womens Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Ariane A. Wilson of Bradenton; a son, Steven L., of Jackson, N.J.; a sister, Grace Walker of Mercerville, N.J.; her mother, Mary E. Addotta of Bradenton; and three grandchildren.

Betty H. Pratt, Palmetto
Betty H. Pratt, 76, of Palmetto, died Sept. 7, 2002, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ellenton Funeral Home, 3411 U.S. 301, Ellenton. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Palmetto Thrift Shop, 709 Eighth Ave. W., Palmetto, Fla. 34221, or Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
Born in Hickory, N.C., Mrs. Pratt came to Manatee County in 1951 from there. She was the circulation manager for the North River News. She was Protestant. She was past president of the Palmetto Womens Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Johnson of Bradenton and Lisa Pratt-Clements of Palmetto; three sons, J. Harris Rhyne, Charles J. Jr., and Christopher Michael, all of Bradenton; and eight grandchildren.

Ann Rasulo, Bradenton
Ann Rasulo, 84, of Bradenton, died Sept. 13, 2002, at home.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown and Sons Funeral Homes 43rd St. Chapel, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Palmetto.
Born in Red Bank, N.J., Mrs. Rasulo came to Manatee County 21 years ago from Floral Park, Long Island, New York. She was Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Philip S., of Bradenton; a sister of New York; and two brothers from New York; and three grandchildren.

Norman R. Routh, Bradenton
Norman R. Routh, 67, of Bradenton, died Sept. 13, 2002, at Tampa General Hospital.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home's Manasota Chapel, 1221 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton. Memorial services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Burial will be in Manasota Memorial Park.
Born in Bradenton, Mr. Routh was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving in southeast Asia. He was Christian. He was a member of the AARP.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin M., of Bradenton; a son, Randall, of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Stephen, of Bradenton and Phillip, of Gibsonton; and four grandchildren.

Lucille A. Young, Palmetto
Lucille A. Young, 66, of Palmetto, died Sept. 1, 2002, at Freedom Village Nursing Center in Bradenton.
There will be no memorial service or visitation. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th St. W., Bradenton, is in chrage of arrangements. Inurnment will be at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1101 North Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, Fla. 32751.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, Mrs. Young came to Manatee County in 1966. She was a retired certified nurse's assistant in Sarasota and a security guard with Pinkerton Security in Manatee County. She was Baptist. She was a member of the American Legion Oneco Post 312, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Sarasota, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bradenton.
Survivors include her husband, Howard L.; three sons, Dan Paradis of Dunedin, Paul Gosselin of Kingsland, Texas, and Steve Sherman of Bradenton; a sister, Gertrude Ireland of Maine; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
