Raymond D. Cheydleur, 83, of Sarasota (Manatee County), died Sept. 1, 2002, at home.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the John James Theater at Manatee Community College, 5840 26th St. W. Covell Cremation & Funeral Center of Bradenton is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Bay Pines National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Manatee Community College Foundation, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton, Fla. 34205.
Born in Ballston Spa, N.Y., Mr. Cheydleur came to Manatee County from Madison, Wis., in 1959. He was a professor, charter faculty member and head of the speech department at Manatee Community College, and was the overseer of the college archives after his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Ben, of Holland, Mich.

Warren E. Fraser, 86, of Ellenton, died Sept. 6, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.

Born in Toronto, Mr. Fraser came to Manatee County from Reading in 1984. He was a mechanical engineer with General Electric and Raytheon. He was Episcopalian. He was a member of Aleppo Masonic Lodge in Massachusetts and Square Club in Colony Cove.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline; a daughter, Nancy E., of Reading; and a brother, Kenneth G., of Norwood, Mass.
Wesley Lee Hopkins Jr., Fort Pierce and Palmetto
Wesley Lee "Hoppy" Hopkins Jr., 70, of Fort Pierce, formerly of Palmetto, died Aug. 28, 2002, in Fort Pierce.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. today at Sarah's Memorial Chapel Inc., 728 Ave. D, Fort Pierce. Service will be noon today at Emmanuel Full Gospel Baptist Church, Avenue K and 25th Street, Fort Pierce, with the Rev. Marvin Grimsley officiating. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
Born in Brooksville, Mr. Hopkins was a former resident of Manatee County. He was a construction worker. He was Baptist. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his companion, Cynthia Adderley of Fort Pierce; five daughters, Sharon, of Palmetto, Cynthia Dubise of St. Petersburg, Matercia Russ, Natissia Adderley and Lasonja Grimsley, all of Fort Pierce; four sons, Wesley III, of Palmetto, Joe Sanders of Rockledge, Jerome, of Nashville, Tenn., and Ronnie Bennett of Tampa; three stepsisters, Paulette Thomas, Lellen Thomas, and Ester Thomas, all of New York; a brother, Luther Ware of Palmetto; two stepbrothers, Samuel Thomas and Philliph Thomas, both of Antigua, West Indies; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine Lasker Matthews, 82, of Bradenton, died Sept. 4, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.

Born in Chicago, Mrs. Matthews came to Manatee County from there in 1967. She was a homemaker. She was Methodist. She was one of the oldest members in Seniority at the Bradenton Yacht Club, a member of the Humane Society and co-founder of the Offstage Ladies Group in Anna Maria Island.
Survivors include a son, Bradley Slaney of Las Vegas; and a brother, Charles Westover Lasker of Darien, Ill.
Betty J. Oldfield, Bradenton
Betty J. Oldfield, 81, of Bradenton, died Sept. 6, 2002, in Palmetto Hospice House.

Born in El Dorado, Kan., Mrs. Oldfield came to Manatee County from Clare, Mich., in 1969. She retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army after 28 years of service during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. She attended Hope Lutheran Church. She was a member of American Legion Post 317 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18, both of Bradenton; the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 129 of Clare, and the Women's Veteran Association; and the former secretary/treasurer of the Women's Bowling Association.
Survivors include several cousins.

Carol M. Skinner, 77, of Bradenton, died Sept. 5, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Flint, Mich., Mrs. Skinner came to Manatee County from Michigan in 1978. She was an assembler for General Motors.

Born in Newport, R.I., Mr. Brown came to Manatee County from there in 1952. He was Catholic. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Born in Sunny Hill, Mr. Fleming came to Manatee County at an early age. He was a farm laborer. He was Baptist. He served in the U.S. Navy.
