Born in Manchester, Tenn., Mr. Charles came to Manatee County from Connersville, Ind., in 1956. He was a pharmacist and manager of the former Liggett-Roxall Drug Store for 25 years. He attended West Bradenton Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Scott of Bradenton, and Dr. William Michael, of Douglas, Ga.; a sister, Rosine Burgess of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.

William J. Hunter, 83, of Ellenton, died June 6, 2001, at home.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 11315 Palm Brush Trail, with Father James Williamson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the services at the River Club, 6600 River Club Blvd. Ellenton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Camden, N.J., Mr. Hunter came to Manatee County from Gibbsboro, N.J., 20 years ago. Before retiring he worked for Phototype Photo in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of River Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Karen Bloxsom of Denton, N.C.; two sons, William, of Biloxi, Miss., and Timothy, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a sister, Dorothy Miller of Tampa; one brother, Robert B., of Biloxi; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Kissinger came to Manatee County from Upper Darby, Pa., seven years ago. He was a U.S. Postal Service clerk. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in Norwood, Ohio, Mrs. Murphy came to Manatee County from there in 1949. She retired as a secretary with the Manatee County School Board. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Joseph's Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her husband Thomas J. Jr.; three daughters, Mary Bradt of Tampa, Kathy Cochrane of Coral Springs, and Angela Murphy-Walters of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Thomas J. III, of Arcadia, and Lawrence J., of Palmetto; two sisters, Mary Behler of Columbus, Ind., and Phyllis Scott of Hamilton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Farrar, Ga., Mrs. Spencer came to Manatee County from Atlanta in 1999. She was a private duty nurse and also worked in the clinic at Rich's Department Stores, Atlanta. She was Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne G. Williamson of Decatur, Ga.; a son, Robert N. III, of Bradenton; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Born in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, Mrs. Copess came to Manatee County from Honolulu in 1981. She was a homemaker and she was a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Lon; two daughters, Nancy Creem of Summit, N.J., and Mary Sankovich of Lynchburg, Va.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was employed as a machinist at Good Year Tire and Rubber for 32 years and later at Orbans Nursery in Bradenton. He was a Little League coach for 40 years. He attended Orange Grove Free Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Evy;" four sons, Kenny, of Fernandina Beach, Bruce, of Ashland, Ohio, Mike, of Tallmadge, and Brian, of Akron; a sister, Imogene Farson of Ellenton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
