Memorial service will be noon Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1612 13th Ave. E., with the Rev. Immanuel Dent officiating. Westside Funeral Home, Palmetto, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Swilley was born in Palmetto. He was in the construction industry. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Lee; a daughter, Barbara Trotter of Bradenton; two sons, Wayne, of Tampa, and Gregory, of Palmetto; three sisters, Athera Patrick of Halls, Tenn., and Joanne Smith and Doris Thomas, both of Bradenton; and a brother, Ernest, of Bradenton.

Born in Carlisle, N.Y., Mrs. Alverson came to Manatee County from Albany in 1970. She was a retired clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles, state of New York. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Albany.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion, of Bradenton, and Barbara Matthews of Ellenton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Ames came to Manatee County from Largo in 1985. She was the manager of a bakery. She was a member of The Light House Church in Parrish.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Bradshaw of Ellenton, and Sandra Skarupa of Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Born in Tonawanda, Mrs. Arenz came to Manatee County from Bantam, Conn., in 1996. She was a secretary and a bookkeeper many years ago and she was a homemaker. She attended the Broad Street Baptist Church in Tonawanda, where she was the organist and the choir director for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Walter N., of Bradenton, and Douglas D., of Bantam; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Igaer, W.Va., Mrs. Baird came to Manatee County from Wilmington, Del., in 1982. She was a floral designer. She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1511 of Bradenton.
Survivors include her husband, Norman; a son, John Duncan of Elkton, Md.; her mother, Hazel Lee of Elkton; a sister, Dixie Royer of Glen Burnie, Md.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Born in New York, Mr. Kelly came to Manatee County from Bronx, N.Y., and West Chester, N.Y., in 1986. He was retired from Dollar Savings Bank in New York after 35 years of service. He served as a radio operator in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard in Florida.
Survivors include his companion, Nancy Davis; a daughter, Susan Kelly Curran of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; a son, Philip, of Bedford Hills, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Born in Raleigh Springs, Tenn., Mr. McDowell came to Manatee County from Tennessee in the mid 1960s. He was a customer service representative at Leeds and he was the owner of Rods and Customs of Bradenton. He attended Trinity Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association; and the Good Guys.
Survivors include his wife, Susan.

Born in Perry, Mr. Stewart came to Manatee County from there in 1930. He was an electrician. He was Baptist. He served in the U.S. National Guard.
Survivors include a daughter, G. Nadine Salazar of Ramseur; a son, Nathan W., of Ramseur; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
