Allan Ray Lichtenberg, age 54, of Okeechobee, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Lichtenberg was born on August 3, 1947, in Hearn, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a member of the Buckhead Ridge Moose Lodge and Eagles Club.
Survivors include: his wife of five years, Cynthia Burdick Lichtenberg of Okeechobee; mother, Frances Lichtenberg of Enid, Okla.; son, Juan (Ira) Burdick of Okeechobee; daughter, Lisa (Heath) Thompson of Havana, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Austin Thompson of Cairo, Ga., and Jacqueline Burdick of Okeechobee; one brother, Clifford Lichtenberg of Lubsy, Md.; one sister, Sherry (Jerry) Ardnt of Enid, Okla.; and special aunt, Hazel Lichtenberg of Enid, Okla., also survives him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, from 5 until 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.

Annie L. Johnson
Annie L. Johnson, age 89, of Punta Gorda and formerly of Okeechobee, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Charlotte Regional Hospital, in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Mrs. Johnson was born on Nov. 30, 1912, in Bascom, Florida, the daughter of James L. and Louise Burke Clarke. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker by trade.
Survivors include one nephew and wife, Paul and Evelyn Bass of Punta Gorda and three grandchildren also survive her.
There will be no visitation services.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 2 p.m., graveside, at Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
Dan Chenault Botts
Dan Chenault Botts, age 87, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, in Okeechobee.
He was born in Lexington Ky., and raised in Winchester, Ky.
Mr. Chenault retired in Okeechobee and enjoyed his life fishing in the big lake and spending time with his many friends.
Dan proudly served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jodi Rosenfield of Melbourne and Dana Sossen of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Tiffany, and Adam Rosenfield, all of Melbourne, Barbara and Melissa Sossen of Houston, Texas, also survive him.
Mr. Botts will be missed by his best friend, Tony Noe.
A memorial service was held in his honor July 6, 2002, at the VFW Post 10539 where he was very active and previously served as commander. His most recent position was as post chaplain.
All arrangements were under the direction and care of the National Cremation Society in West Palm Beach.
Woodrow 'Woody' Anthony Schad
Woodrow 'Woody' Anthony Schad, age 70, of Okeechobee, died Friday, June 28, 2002, at his residence.
Born April 24, 1932, in Versailles, Ky., Mr. Schad had resided in Okeechobee since 1977. Formerly of West Palm Beach, he was retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
He served in Korea for the U.S. Marines and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Schad was a 33rd Degree Member of the Okeechobee and Lake Worth Masonic Lodge and had served as Worshipful Master of the Okeechobee F&AM Lodge.
Additionally, he was a member of the Scottish Rite at the Okeechobee Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Anthony Schad.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 26 years, Linda Christine Schad of Okeechobee; two sons, Nelson (Mayellen) Schad of West Palm Beach, and George W. (Julie) turner of Columbus, Ind.; two daughters, Andrea Schad of Orlando and Linda D. Schad of St. Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Nancye (Glenn) Igleheart of Cisero, N.Y. Additionally, he is also survived by special friends, John and Debbie Garza of Okeechobee.
A memorial Masonic service will be conducted in the Buxton Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at 11 a.m.

Joseph D. Maloney
Joseph D. Maloney, age 72, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.
Mr. Maloney was born on Jan. 27, 1930, in Bronx, N.Y. Mr. Maloney had been a seasonal resident of Okeechobee since 1984 and made it his permanent home for the last four and a half years. He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, VFW and Disabled Veterans.
Survivors include: his wife of 18 years, Beverly Maloney of Okeechobee; one son, Joseph (Vicki) Maloney of Brunsburg, N.J., their children, Jason and Bianca; two daughters, Janet (Joe) D'Oreo of Corham, N.Y., their daughters, Jennifer and Marie (Bill) Craddock of Elizabethtown, Pa., and their children, Pamela and Megan; one stepson, William Backoff of Pompano and his children, Bill and Danielle; one brother, Thomas Maloney of Tamarac; and one sister, Judy Palumbo of Yonkers, N.Y., also survives him.
There will be no visitation or services.

John William Forte, Sr.
John William Forte, Sr., age 71, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Florida Hospital in Orlando.
Mr. Forte was born on July 14, 1930, in Long Island, N.Y. He had been a resident of Okeechobee for 12 years and was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include: two sons, John Forte, Jr. of West Palm Beach and Robert Forte of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Lauri A. Clements of Okeechobee; one granddaughter, Heather Thomas; one brother, Joe Forte of Long Island, N.Y.; and two sisters, Edith Lukasicwicz of Plainfield, Conn., and Dollie Mattie of Orlando.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, from 3 until 5 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 8, at 2 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Jose Louis Soto
Jose Louis Soto, age 23, of Okeechobee, died Monday, July 1, 2002., in Ocala.
Mr. Soto was born on Jan. 14, 1979, in Mexico and has been a resident of Okeechobee for two years, and was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include his mother, Maria Soto; six brothers and six sisters also survive him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, from 6 until 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 8, at 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home with Father Hernan Afanador of the Church of Our Saviour, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Jardines del Tiempo, Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Jerome Maynor
Jerome Maynor, age 36, of Indiantown, died on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1965, in Folkston, Ga. Mr. Maynor was employed in the construction industry. Mr. Maynor had been a longtime resident of Indiantown since 1966.
Survivors include: one daughter, Keosha Alcinnat of Indiantown; father, Alton Maynor of Folkston, Ga.; mother, Mollie Howell of Indiantown; one brother, Reggie Maynor of Folkston, Ga.; and six sisters, Frances Shellman, Aretha Colebrook, Lucretia Brown, all of West Palm Beach, Connie Smiley of Port St. Lucie, Sophronia Smiley of Folkston, Ga., and Hazel Brown of Tallahassee.
Friends may call on Friday, July 5, from 3 - 7 p.m., at the Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, at 1 p.m., at Port Mayaca Cemetery.

Pevie Lester Peterson
Pevie Lester Peterson, age 57, of Okeechobee, died July 2, 2002, at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach.
He was born August 30, 1944, in Fort Pierce and was a lifelong resident of Vero Beach before moving to Okeechobee last November.
He had been a water well driller for 42 years for various companies in the Vero Beach and Okeechobee areas
Mr. Peterson's favorite pastimes were spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pevie and Sadie Peterson, brothers, James Bowman Peterson, Wayne Peterson and son, Lester Lee Peterson.
Survivors include: his long time companion, Patricia Zigler of Okeechobee; daughter, Tereasa Williams (Mark) of Vero Beach; sons, Richard Pevie Peterson (Melissa) of Vero Beach; Thomas Joseph Peterson (Lorean) of Ft. Lauderdale; brother, Dennis E. Peterson (Norma) of Fort Pierce; sisters, Inez Fleming (Kenneth) of Debary; Roberta McCullers (B.J., Sr.) of Okeechobee; Syble Hazellief (Doyle) of Okeechobee; Janette Hazellief (Ralph) of Fort Pierce; Janice Crowe (Doug) of Astatula; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, from 6 until 9 p.m., at the Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach with Reverend William Ward of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Fort Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Winter Beach Cemetery, Winter Beach.

Donald C. Miller
Donald C. Miller, age 73, of Okeechobee, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born on Dec. 6, 1928, in Peoria, Ill., to Orville and Jenavee Miller. He had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1977. An avid fisherman, Donald was a fishing guide on Lake Okeechobee for eight years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include: his caring wife of 48 years, Jean M. Miller of Okeechobee; one daughter, Melisa (Terry) Sheppard of Okeechobee; two grandsons, David and Brian; and one great-granddaughter, Natilee; one sis-ter, Jeanine Cocke of Houston, Texas also survives him.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel.

Marcia M. Hill
Marcia M. Hill, age 74, of Okeechobee, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Hill was born on August 27, 1927, in Van Wert, Ohio. Mrs. Hill had been a resident of Okeechobee for 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour and volunteered with Hospice. Her hobbies included quilting.
Survivors include her brother, John Gordon Morgan, Sr. and his wife, Kay of Franklin, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie B. Weygant
Marie B. Weygant, age 76, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Weygant was born on January 10, 1926, in Springfield, Mass., to Alexis and Mary Belanger. Mrs. Weygant had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1986. Marie was a very devoted wife and mother. With deep faith in God, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by: her brother, Edward Belanger; and sister, Rita Dadona; first husband, Kenneth G. Shifflet; and stepson, Sean Weygant.
Survivors include: her husband of 15 years, Theodore G. Weygant of Okeechobee; one son, Kenny Shifflet and wife, Janet of Kissimmee; three daughters, Carol Schecher and husband Richard of North Miami Beach, their children, Michelle and R.J. and grandchildren, (Marie's great-granddaughters), Samantha and Ashley, Linda Cline and husband Sam of Jamesburg, N.J. and their children, Ryan and Renee, Theresa Cline and husband Buddy of Okeechobee and their sons, Eric and Adam; one stepson, Michael Weygant and wife, Ingrid of Germany and their son, Joshua; one stepdaughter, Sheila Walling and husband Kevin of Colorado; and one sister, Jane McLean of Stowe, Vt., also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Buxton Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 29, at 1:30 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 701 S.W. Sixth St., Okeechobee.

James W. Dixon, Jr., age 82, of Fort Pierce, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at a local assisted living center. A memorial service will be held on June 29, at 10 a.m. at the Okeechobee Christian Church.
Charley Wesley "C.W." Rhoden
Charley Wesley "C.W." Rhoden, age 65, of Abbeville, Ala., died Monday, June 24, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 29, 1936, in Plant City, to the late George and Fannie Dossey Rhoden and Lillie Mae Campbell Rhoden. Mr. Rhoden had lived in the Eufaula, Ala. area for the past seven years coming from Indiantown. He was an outdoors man having worked most of his life as a cattle hand. He loved to hunt, fish and work with his hands.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Rhoden and a sister, Betty Dodgen.
Survivors include: his wife, Effie Rhoden of Abbeville, Ala.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene (Mike) Lewis, Loretta Rhoden and Bob Phillips, all of Eufaula, Ala., Jetta (Russell) Beasley of Italy; four brothers, Lawrence Rhoden of Indiantown, Ronald, Jerry and Lamar Rhoden, all of Ft. Pierce; four sisters, Eilene Hartsfield, Beverly Edge and Pat Williams, all of Ft. Pierce, Kathryn Davis of Vero Beach, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive him.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 27, at 11 a.m., at the Adams Chapel Church Cemetery in Clayton, with George Rhoden and Reverend Charles White officiating with Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula, Ala. directing.

Lawrence Garland Stocker
Lawrence Garland Stocker, age 85, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital. He was born December 18, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa to Asa J. and Pearl Mason Stocker. Mr. Stocker had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1984 and attended the First United Methodist Church.
In 1943, he served in the 247th Army Air Force as a Military Policeman. He was an Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator and Carbine Marksman receiving the Good Conduct Medal and Victory Ribbon. Mr. Stocker was a member of the Martin Masonic Lodge #624 AF & AM in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a farmer and machinery dealer by trade and airplane pilot most of his life.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Stocker and Wesley Stocker.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 61 years, Dorothy Collins Stocker of Okeechobee; one son, Roger (Helga) Stocker of Marshalltown, Iowa; one daughter, Carol J. (James) Woodward of Olney, Texas; four grandchildren, Chasity B. Woodward of Lubbock, Texas, Canton G. Polk of Olney, Texas, Greg (Annie) Stocker of Lincoln, Iowa, and Kari Stocker of Reinbeck, Iowa; one sister, Wilma A. Priest of Waterloo, Iowa; and six nieces also survive him.
There will be no visitation or services.
