William Leslie Golden
William Leslie Golden, 63, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, June 1, 2002.
Born Nov. 22, 1938, in Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Golden had been a resident of Okeechobee for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Golden, and brother, Theodore Golden.
Survivors include: his mother, Emma Duda of New Jersey; two brothers, Martin Golden of Okeechobee and Bobby Golden of West Palm Beach; one sister, Carol Golden of Rightstown, N.J.; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Gladys C. Lackore
Gladys C. Lackore, 89, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lake Wales, Fla.
Born Feb. 25, 1913, in Breed, Wis., Mrs. Lackore had been a resident of Okeechobee for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lackore, and daughter Duade Jean Lackore Hatch.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald C. (Kathryn) Lackore of Winter Haven, and Jack R. (Jacqueleine) Lackore of Davenport; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and, two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 701 S.W. Sixth St., in Okeechobee. Father Hugh Duffy will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, Fla., 34973.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Alice D. Raulerson
Alice D. Raulerson, 77, of Naples, died Saturday, June 1, 2002.
Alice has been a resident of Naples for the past 26 years coming from Miami.
She was predeceased by her husband Chester A. Raulerson and a daughter Joy Philipp.
Survivors include: one son, Chet A. (Deborah) Raulerson of Ft. Myers; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews also survive her.
Family will receive friends at Hodges Funeral Chapel, 3520 Tamiami Trail North, on Tuesday, June 4, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jeff Fletcher officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. following the service in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, 4551 Camino Real Way, Ft. Meyers.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Hodges Funeral Chapel, 3520 Tamiami Trail North, Naples Fla., 34103.

Carol Sue Bombard
Carol Sue Bombard, age 65, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, May 26, 2002.
Carol was born on March 23, 1937, in Akron, Ohio. She worked in retail sales, and was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Close; daughter, Margaret Close; her parents, Sidney and Effie Roberts.
Survivors include: three sons, Billy (Debi) Close of Greenville, S.C., Kenny (Melissa) Close and Greg (Patty) Close, of Okeechobee; daughter, Susan Sargent of Lake Mary; and six grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, with Dr. John Keith officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Funeral Home.

Joseph Tekulve Andrews Jr.
Joseph Tekulve Andrews Jr., age 22, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Glades General Hospital, Belle Glade.
Joseph was born on Oct. 21, 1979, in Okeechobee. Mr. Andrews was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church and the Youth Choir. He was in the telemarketing business and had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kyla Andrews of Columbus, Ala.; his parents, Joseph and Pearl Andrews of Okeechobee; his grandfather, Charlie Creddle of Okeechobee; four brothers, Wilbert Mack of Lakeland, James Mack of Titusville, Richard Andrews of Miami and Telly Savalas Andrews of Stuart; four sisters, Shirley Mack of Orlando, Gwen Koger of Okeechobee, Anita Andrews of Deland and Annette Andrews of Daytona also survive him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the First Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 1, at 1 p.m., at the First Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Stone Brothers Funeral Home.

John F. Seroka
John F. Seroka, age 84, of Okeechobee, died on May 25, 2002, at Gilchrist Center, Maryland.
He was born in McAddo, Pa., on Aug. 2, 1917, to Anna Belanik and Andrew Seroka. Mr. Seroka also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include: two brothers; Michael Seroka of Pennsylvania and Andrew Seroka of Nevada; two sisters, Julia Kundrik and Verna Solly, both of Pennsylvania; and one niece, Susan Welch of Maryland.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 30, at noon, at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 5601 Greenwood Ave., West Palm Beach.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Royal Palm Funeral Home in West Palm Beach.

Elizabeth G. Lassiter
Elizabeth G. Lassiter, age 97, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her residence.
Elizabeth was born on March 9, 1905, in Savannah, Ga. Mrs. Lassiter had been a resident of the Hialeah area for 75 years before relocating to Okeechobee four years ago. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include: three daughters, Janis (John) Pond of Okeechobee, Ann (Jim) Junkin of Coral Gables and Carolyn (Bill) Perkins of Roswell, Ga.; one son, Bill (Betty) Lassiter of Eugene, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Parrack of Miami.
There will be no visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, Fla. 34973.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lena Gopher
Lena Gopher, age 88, of the Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
She was born in Indiantown and has been a lifetime resident of Brighton. Ms. Gopher was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church of Brighton.
Survivors include: one daughter, Onnie Gopher; one son, Martin Gopher, both of Brighton; three grandsons, Ricky Osceola, Marvin Osceola and Wayne Nelson Osceola, all of Brighton; one granddaughter, Helen Osceola of Miami; and ten great-grandchildren also survive her.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at the Ortona Cemetery in Ortona, with Pastor Wonder Johns of the First Indian Baptist Church and Reverend Howard Micco officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home.

Beulah Catherine Reeves
Beulah Catherine Reeves, age 89, of Winter Garden, died May 16, 2002.
Beulah was born on Dec. 6, 1912, in Bassinger, to John and Katie Raulerson Chandler. She was raised in Okeechobee and married Ed Reeves in 1931, and moved to Winter Garden in 1936.
Mrs. Reeves was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she often taught Sunday School, and was a substitute teacher at Lakeview High School. Beulah was known for her generosity and philanthropy. She was a great Southern cook, an avid fisherman and a gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Reeves.
Survivors include: her sons, Donald Reeves of Ocoee and David Reeves of Groveland; daughter, Glenda Acton of Winter Garden; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Chandler of Okeechobee; and sister, Lenora Walker of Okeechobee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Guardian Angel Program at Lakeview Middle School, Winter Garden, or a charity of your choice.
Funeral services were held on May 20, in Winter Garden.
Interment will be in the family plot at Winter Garden Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, Winter Garden.

Raymond Leo Clements
Raymond Leo Clements, age 87, of Indiantown, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Clements was born July 26, 1914, in Indiantown, where he has been a lifetime resident. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Indiantown. Mr. Clements was a WWII Veteran, present at the D-Day landing and a recipient of the Silver Star.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 59 years, Florence Clements of Indiantown; two sons, Ronald Clements and Patrick Clements of Indiantown; two daughters, Marie Everetts of Port St. Lucie and Evelyn Quick of Jupiter; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Newhouse of Killeen, Texas and Ceil Pound of White Springs.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 26, from 4 until 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m., at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Indiantown, with Father Charles Clements officiating.
Interment will be in Port Mayaca Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lester Dykes Johnson
Lester Dykes Johnson, age 87, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 1, 1914, in Warrensville, N.C. Mr. Johnson had been a resident of Okeechobee for 40 years. He was a former volunteer with the Okeechobee Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Johnson and sons, James Johnson and Allen Johnson.
Survivors include: one son, Lester D. (Iris) Johnson Jr. of Rockledge; four grandsons, David Johnson of Okeechobee, Ben Johnson of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mike Johnson of Cocoa and Steve Johnson of Stuart; granddaughter, Sherry Pelchen of Jupiter; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Johnson of Hendersonville, N.C. and Earl Johnson of Bristol, Va.; three sisters, Adina Lanz of Nashville, Tenn., Olena Houck of Hendersonville, N.C. and Carolyn Merrill of Beltsville, Md.
A memorial service and interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Jensen Beach on Thursday, May 30, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Neil Gunsalus officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

William H. Cooper
William H. Cooper, age 74, of Lorida, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Sebring.
Mr. Cooper was born on May 9, 1928, in Haleyville, Ala., the son of Tommy and Thelma Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a dairy farmer by trade and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Kelly Cooper of Lorida; three sons, Bruce (Pam) Cooper of LaBelle, Joseph (Wendy) Cooper of Lorida and Jimmy (Dawn) Cooper of Fort Drum; two daughters, Angela (Dareen) Rhynearson of Auburndale and Malinda (Glenn) Rayburn of Thomasville, Ga.; and sister, Earlene Garcia of Double Springs, Ala., also survives him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m., at the Bass Funeral Home, with Pastor Elaine Proctor and Reverend Jerry Akins officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Drum Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Funeral Home.

Odie "Pop" Swann
Odie "Pop" Swann, age 90, of Live Oak, Ala., died on Sunday, May 19, 2002, at the Surrey Place Center Nursing Home in Live Oak, Ala.
Mr. Swann was a Cullman, Ala. native moving to Live Oak, Ala. about a year ago from Okeechobee. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his daughter, Mary Jo Elliott and Wolfgang Punjer, of Miami Springs; three sons, Ronald (Barbara) Swann, Troy (Eileen) Swann, and Dallas Swann, all of Live Oak; one sister, Mattie Koehler, of Cullman, Ala.; one brother, Alec (Roberta) Swann, of Besimer, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Sherri Northrup, Bambi Padgett, Kim Howard, Chuck Swann, Sue Ratliff, Eric Swann, Wendy Swann, and Debbie Elliott; and seven great-grandchildren also survive him.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at Flint Creek Baptist Church in Cullman, Ala., with Reverend Harce Swann officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Daniels Funeral Home in Live Oak, Ala.

Martis O. Grantham
Martis O. Grantham, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Okeechobee.
Mr. Grantham was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Elba, Ala., son of Malcom and Lillian Grantham. He was a farmer by trade, and a member of the Treasure Island Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary E. Grantham of Okeechobee; two sons, Junior Grantham of Appling, Ga., and Roger Grantham of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Pat Douglas of Okeechobee and Gloria Campbell of Headland, Ala.; two sisters, Dorothy Grantham of Andaulisa, Ala., and Ann Lambert of Red Level, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren also survive him.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, from 4 until 7 p .m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Monday, May 20, at 10 a.m., at the Treasure Island Baptist Church, with Pastor Dewayne Eatmon officiating. Interment to be in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Funeral Home.
