Edward Edmundo Pioli, age 90, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born March 11, 1911, in New York, N.Y., Mr. Pioli, formerly of Lake Park, had been a resident of Okeechobee for 18 years.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 30 years, Easter L. Pioli of Okeechobee; daughter, Dera (John) Muszick of Okeechobee; two grandsons, Brandon Muszick of West Palm Beach and Brian Muszick of Palm City; one great-grandson, Austin Muszick of West Palm Beach; and one sister, Lena Garrand of New Egypt, N.J.
There will be no visitation or services.

Richard T. (Dick) Shop
Richard T. (Dick) Shop, age 62, of Buckhead Ridge in Okeechobee, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida.
Richard was born May 22, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Ralph T. and Lucille Shop. He moved to Broward County, Florida, at the age of 17 and was a service technician for Sears for over 24 years.
Richard relocated to Okeechobee in 1987. He was a former captain of the Buckhead Ridge Volunteer Fire Department; served as a first responder with the EMS of Buckhead Ridge; and, was a patient in the research program for the development of Prilosec for the National Institute of Health.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 19 years, Bonnie D. Shop of Buckhead Ridge; two stepdaughters, Jeannie Wedhorn and Stacey Ann Griffith, both of Lake Worth; five grandchildren - Amber, Mark, Joshua, Stephanie and Loryssa, all of Lake Worth; one brother, James Shop of Fort Lauderdale; and, five nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother and one sister.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buckhead Ridge Christian Church, 21300 Linda Road N.E., Okeechobee, Fla., 34974.

Dr. Robert E. Boyd
Dr. Robert E. Boyd, age 79, of Indiantown, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at his residence.
Born May 17, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo. to Robert E. and Dorthea (Lindhorst) Boyd. Mr. Boyd was a doctor by trade, he moved to Indiantown from Darien, Ill., in 1991. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: his wife, Frances Boyd, whom he married in 1943; and three sons, Dr. Robert E. Boyd III and wife, Laura, Dr. Richard A. Boyd and wife, Jamie and Raymond M. Boyd and wife, Patricia.
No services will be held at this time.

Paul V. "Mr. Paul" Brumfield
Paul V. "Mr. Paul" Brumfield, age 80, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born Feb. 5, 1921, in Wayne County, W.Va. He was the son of French and Gypsy Brumfield. Mr. Brumfield retired as City Clerk of Plymouth, Mich. He was in the United States Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Mr. Brumfield was a member of the VFW Post #9528 of Buckhead Ridge and the Moore Haven American Legion Post #299.
His daughter Lori Brumfield of Okeechobee survives him.
There will be no services.

Hubert T. Derry
Hubert T. Derry, age 65, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital. Born Aug. 17, 1936, in Fulton, Miss., Mr. Derry had been a resident of Okeechobee for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Derry.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lynn Derry of Georgia and Tina Derry of Okeechobee; two grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Derry and Bill Derry of Okeechobee; and one sister, Ruth Keller of Rockford, Ill. also survives him.
There will be no visitation or services.

Lois Jean Spesard
Lois Jean Spesard, age 73, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004 at her residence. Born Jan. 31, 1930 in Danville, Ill., Mrs. Spesard had been a resident of Buckhead Ridge in Okeechobee for nine years. She was a member of the Okeechobee Christian Church and the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Spesard was preceded in death by her son, Thomas V. Spesard.
Survivors include: her devoted husband of 56 years, Laverl V. Spesard of Okeechobee; son, Ray A. Spesard of Kingman, Ind.; daughter, Sandra S. Steinhart of Fernandina Beach; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and, two nephews.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Ratliff of Okeechobee Christian Church will officiate and interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family welcomes flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida.

Lela Grider, age 82, of Lakeport, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at her residence.
Born Jan. 14, 1920, in Tilton, Ill., the daughter of Virgil and Katie (Doggitt) Winkler), Mrs. Grider was a beautician and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Winkler.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Grider of Lakeport; daughter, Phyllis Burroughs of Danville, Ill.; step-son, Ed Grider of Villa Grove, Ill.; and sister, Lila (Don) McCrone of Danville, Ill., also survives her.
There will be no services.
A private family interment to be held at a later date.
Burial to take place in Catlin Cemetery, Catlin Ill.

James Vernon Wright
James Vernon Wright, age 73, of St. Cloud, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002.
He was born in Okeechobee on Dec. 2, 1928, and graduated from Okeechobee High School in 1947. He received a B.A. Degree from Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, Va.
Mr Wright was a retired Superintendent from the Florida State Department of Corrections in Vero Beach. He was a member of the St. Cloud Lodge 221, F & AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Lake Worth. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Doris Wright; two sons, David Wright of Westernville, N.Y. and Richard Wright of Orlando; three grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ellen Reeves of San Antonio, Texas also survives him.
There will be no visitation or services.

Thomas Harper
Thomas Harper, age 74, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at his residence.
An avid fisherman and formerly of Lake Worth, Mr. Harper has lived in Okeechobee for eight years. Mr. Harper served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a roofer by trade.
Preceded in death by: brothers, Jim and Ned; sisters, Pat Gentzel and Becky Luke.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Alva "Bonnie" of Okeechobee; two sons, Glen T. Harper of Okeechobee and Tommie W. Harper (Rebecca) of Palm Springs; daughter, Bonnie G. Vanderhoff (Jerry) of Okeechobee; five grandsons, Danny Vanderhoff and Jason Harper of West Palm Beach, Tommie Harper of Palm Springs, Cody Harper of Boca Raton and Robert Harper of Salina, Kan.; three granddaughters, Tanya Harper of Palm Springs, Keri Lewis of Okeechobee and Danielle Harper of West Palm Beach; one brother, Herbert Harper of Okeechobee; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive him.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel at 4:30 p.m., with Interment taking place on Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m., at Lake Worth Memory Gardens in Lake Worth.

Sue B. Kirton
Sue B. Kirton, age 93, of Okeechobee died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility. Mrs. Kirton was born September 27, 1910, in Preston, Ga. to William Spencer Bell and Sarah Elizabeth Nicholson.
Mrs. Kirton was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Dudley V. Kirton and her son, H. Spencer Kirton.
Survivors include: three grandsons, Dudley (Cheryl), Spencer and Corey; and, three great grandsons, all of Okeechobee.
Private family services were held Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Chapel.

Joseph U. Reuter
Joseph U. Reuter, age 65, of Okeechobee, died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
Born on Sept. 16, 1936 in Bedford, Ind., Mr. Reuter was a resident of Okeechobee for 21 years previously of Indianapolis, Ind. and was a Mobile Home Salesman.
Mr. Reuter was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Okeechobee Masonic Lodge #237 AF & AM, the West Palm Beach Shriners Amara Temple, the Royal Order of Jesters, Court #179, the Buckhead Ridge Moose Lodge and the Okeechobee VFW.
Preceded in death by: his father, Frederick C. Reuter; and his mother, Blossie Reuter.
Survivors include: his wife of 20 years, Jean Reuter, of Okeechobee; three sons, Steven J. Reuter, of Huntington Beach, Calif., Ted Allen Reuter, of Spokane, Wash, Joseph Todd (Theresa) Reuter, of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Lorretta (Jerry) Hesse, of Inverness; and five grandchildren also survive him.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home.
Interment will be private.

Violet V. Bachman
Violet V. Bachman, age 78, of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her Okeechobee residence.
She was born May 13, 1923, in Proctorville, Ohio, the daughter of James and Georgia (Singer) Ellis.
She was a book crafter for Edwards Brothers Printing in Ann Arbor, Mich., by trade and a member of the Ladies of the Moose of the Buckhead Ridge Moose Lodge.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Donald G. Bachman; three sisters, Evelyn Burcham, Gertrude Coneby and Louise Clancy and a good friend, Kirby Hall.
Survivors include: two sisters, Marie (Loy) Sheets of Coldwater, Mich., Joann Ellis of Huntington, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Visitation is Monday, Jan. 28, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Muehlig Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m., at the Muehlig Funeral Home in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Interment to be held in Bethleham Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dennis Richard Tobin
Dennis Richard Tobin, age 56, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1946, in Pottsville, Pa., Mr. Tobin had been a resident of Okeechobee for nine years. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Indiantown. Mr. Tobin was co-owner of Tobin's Marketing in Okeechobee.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 37 years, Barbara Ann Tobin of Okeechobee; son, Kurt Dennis (Mary) Tobin of Larksville, Pa.; two daughters, Kelliann Rose (Wilbur) May of Sweet Valley, Pa. and Kimberli Ann (Mark Olen) Edwards of Okeechobee; six grandchildren; one step grandchild; one step great-grandchild; parents, John Joseph Tobin of Lake Park and Catherine Tobin of St, Claire, Pa.; and one brother, Thomas (Shirley) Tobin of Wilmington, Del.
Visitation is on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m., at the Family Worship Center on Indian Mound Drive in Indiantown, with Brother Bruce Butler, Pastor, officiating.

Emma J. Mobley
Mrs. Emma J. Mobley, age 91, of Okeechobee died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Raulerson Hospital. Mrs. Mobley was born Jan. 8, 1913, in Pike County, Ala. Mrs. Mobley was a homemaker who came to Okeechobee from Brundridge, Ala. in 1949. She was a member of the Okeechobee Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Sessions; five sons, Wesley (Faye), William (Pamela), Victor, Robert (Judy), and Larry (Patsy) all of Okeechobee; thirty-five grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 24, from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Okeechobee Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Selvey officiating.
