Christine P. VanBerschot
Christine P. VanBerschot, age 53, of Port St. Lucie, died Friday, Jan.23, 2004, at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie. Ms. VanBerschot was born Nov. 17, 1950, in West Palm Beach to Marvin and Beatrice Arrants.
Ms. VanBerschot moved from Okeechobee to Port St. Lucie nine years ago. She was a retired graphic designer.
Ms. VanBerschot was preceded in death by her father Marvin Arrants.
Survivors include: son, Jack Gilbert of Jupiter; loving companion John VanBerschot; mother, Beatrice Arrants; brothers Charles (Beverly), Wayne (Susan), and Andy (Teresa), and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 26, from 5 until 7 p.m.

William G. Weston
William G. Weston, age 84, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Hope Hospice of Fort Myers. Born Nov. 10, 1918, in Jonesville, Va., the son of Isaac P. Weston and Ola Mae (Hedrick) Weston. Mr. Weston was a pilot for a commercial airline, a member of the Fort Myers Beach Masonic Lodge AF & AM and had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: daughter, Carolyn Lause of Alva; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard A. Weston of Burbank, Calif.; two sisters, Nancy Laverna Graham of Pennington Gap, Va. and Lena Jo Glass of Roanoke, Va. also survive him.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., with Dr. John Keith officiating, at Evergreen Cemetery.

Jerry C. Logue, Major, U.S. Army, Retired
Jerry C. Logue, Major, U.S. Army, Retired, age 64, of North Fort Myers, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002.
He was born March 3, 1937, in Arcadia and graduated from DeSoto County High School in 1955. He served in the local National Guard Unit and the U.S. Air Force. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, which he retired from after 20 years of Military Service. While in the U.S. Army, he graduated from Officers Candidate School in 1962 and served as Chinese Linguist and Army Aviator. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served three tours in Southeast Asia.
After retiring from the Army, Jerry graduated from Florida State University and the University of Florida Law School.
Survivors include: his son, Jay Logue of Orlando; brother, Dick Logue of Brewton, Ala.; and sister, Gloria Morris of Seffner.
Visitation is on Friday, Jan. 25, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m., from the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Simmons officiating.
Interment will be Monday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with full Military Honors.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia.
Edwin Johnson McIntyre
Edwin Johnson McIntyre, age 77, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at his residence.
Born June 1, 1924, in Chatham, N. Y., Mr. McIntyre, formerly of Dade County, had resided in Okeechobee since 1995. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star Medal.
Survivors include: brother, Donald J. McIntyre of Okeechobee; sister, Florence E. Moran of Valatie, N. Y.; and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
There will be no visitation or services.

Patricia Jane Lehman
Patricia Jane Lehman, age 71, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Raulerson Hospital.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1932, in West Palm Beach and graduated from St. Ann's High School in West Palm. She has been a resident of Okeechobee since 1981 and, together, with her late husband Eddie, was the owner and operator of Lehman's Auto Paint and Body Shop.
Mrs. Lehman was preceded in death by her husband; and, one sister, Frances.
Survivors include: son, Eddie (Beth); grandson, Patrick Lehman; four brothers, Michael H. Fischer, Donald E. Fischer (Grace), Ralph E. Fischer, all of West Palm Beach and Jack B. Fischer (Shirley) of Vero Beach; numerous nieces and nephews; and, great nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed fishing, traveling, family reunions and her pets.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 23, from 5 until 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m., with Father Esteban G. Soy of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home.
Frank Montain
Frank Montain, age 87, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at the St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie.
Born March 7, 1914, in Moorestown, N.J., Mr. Montain had been a resident of Okeechobee for 50 years. Having served in the U.S. Army, Mr. Montain was a member of the American Legion and was of the Christian Science Faith.
Survivors include: his wife of 44 years, Betty Montain of Okeechobee; three daughters, Toni (Harold) Atwater of Wedowee, Ala., Jessina (James) Clements and Diann (Danny) Scott of Okeechobee; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Mike Montana of Las Vegas, Nev., and one sister, Billie Mason of Hallandale.
There will be no visitation or services

John M. Line
John M. Line, age 89, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Hospice of Treasure Coast, Inc. in Fort Pierce.
Born Sept. 24, 1912, in Momence, Ill., Mr. Line had been a resident of Okeechobee for 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kankakee, Ill. His hobbies included fishing, working with his hands, playing the guitar and harmonica, and dancing.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: his wife of eight years, Ruth, of Okeechobee; one daughter, Donna Raye (Thomas A.) Pappone of Metuchen, N.J.; one sister, Dorothy White of Kankakee, Ill.; four grandchildren; and, five great grandchildren.
Visitation is on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from noon until 1 p.m. at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Memorial services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. with Reverend Dr. John Keith, Pastor of Oakview Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, Fla. 34973.

Shirley Crawford Mislan
Shirley Crawford Mislan, age 44, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at her residence after a year-long battle with cancer.
Born April 21, 1957, in Lake Wales, Shirley lived most of life in Okeechobee moving to the Tampa area 10 years ago. She graduated from Okeechobee High School in 1975 with honors. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Anthony E. Mislan; her son, Christopher Crawford; her daughter, Amy Crawford, all of Zephyrhills; stepdaughter, Meaghan Mislan of Wichita, Kans.; and stepson, Anthony Mislan of Okeechobee. Three brothers, Martin (Sonny) Crawford and wife Carla of Sebring; David Crawford and wife Lisa of White, Ga.; Neal Crawford and wife Kristy of Okeechobee; and two sisters, Sharon Williams and husband Paul King, Sue Clements and husband John, all of Okeechobee. Several nephews and nieces, Lanisha Weaver and Matt Crawford; Jessica and Melissa Williams; Jason, Becky, Lara, and Josh Stanley; Zander Crawford; Jonathon and Kutter Crawford, also survive her.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee.

Adolph "Al" J. Rinaldo
Adolph "Al" J. Rinaldo, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Raulerson hospital.
Mr. Rinaldo, a member of the Oakview Baptist Church, served in the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Okeechobee American legion Post 64. Also he was an honorary lifetime member of the High Twelve Club of Okeechobee and the recipient of the Kentucky Colonel Award.
Formerly of Hollywood, he has resided in Okeechobee for 20 years and is survived by his wife of 19 years, Janet, two daughters Janet Louise Blair (Lyle E.) and Diane Lynn DeHart of Okeechobee. In addition, two grandsons Troy DeHart of Cleveland, Ga., Scott Saip of Okeechobee and granddaughter Kimberly Williams of Okeechobee, great grandsons Adrian Rogers, Andrew Rogers and great granddaughter Katlyn Williams, all of Okeechobee, survive him. There are also three brothers and two sisters surviving.
The family will receive friends at the Buxton Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Keith of Oakview Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oakview Baptist Church building fund.

Shirley H. Miner
Shirley H. Miner, age 76, of Buckhead Ridge, died Jan. 20, 2002, at her residence.
Born July 9, 1925, in Hughestown, Pa. She came to Okeechobee from Ft. Lauderdale in 1981. She was a former sales clerk for a Ft. Lauderdale 7 Eleven and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
She was the daughter of Ernest and Ester (Schmaltz) Cook.
Survivors include: her husband, Raymond I., whom she married on Feb. 14, 1944; one son, David Miner of Ft. Lauderdale; two daughters, Barbara Bissonette of Winterville, N.C., and Elizabeth Holcomb of Williston; one sister, Dolores Beaudry of Edgewater; and, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 26., at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor John Hirst officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Hospice of Okeechobee.

A.J. Ogburn
A.J. Ogburn 88, of Frostproof died on Monday, January 12, 2004.
Born March 8, 1915 at coffee Springs, AL., he moved to Frostproof forty-five years ago from Winter Haven, FL.
He was a retired machine operator for Florida Citrus Oil.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof.
Preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Ogburn in 1952.
Survivors include Wife, Juanita E. Ogburn, Sons Larry and Terry Ogburn, 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. All of Frostproof.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment was at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof, FL.
Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof was in charge of arrangements.
Faustino "TINO" Velasco
Faustino Velasco of Immokalee, age 79, died Sunday, January 18, 2004, at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, Lehigh Acres, after an extended illness. Tino Velasco was born in Robstown, TX. He came to this area from Nueces County, TX, and has lived here for 39 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He leaves behind Magdelena Sanchez and family, Eloisa Campbell, Rubin Benny Reyna and family, the Rodriguez family: Angie, Elena, Mike and Rosie Navaro and family, all the Velso family from Immokalee and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens, Father Ettore Rubin officiated.
Brister Funeral Home in Immokalee was in charge of arrangements.
Enuice Mozelle Douglas
Enuice Mozelle Douglas went home to be with the Lord, January 18, 2004. Born to Ida Leona Frier and William Shelton Wheeler on February 28, 1915, in Hamilton County, FL.
She was preceded in death by husbands Durley Getty and Daniel Douglas, four sisters and two brothers.
She leaves a brother J.W. Wheeler (Jo), West Plains Missouri, and many nieces and nephews, living across the states.
Mozelle moved to Immokalee in 1962 with her husband Durley. They opened Getty Trailer Park. She ran the park after Durley's death in 1977. She married Dan in 1979 and became a housewife. They traveled visiting family across the USA. After the death of Dan in 1997, she moved to North Fort Myers.
Mozelle was very active in the First Baptist Church in Immokalee and Eastern Star. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1963. She held many offices in the Star.
The family members request instead of flowers to please send donations to the Hospice House, 2430 Diplomat Parkway Cape Coral, Florida 33909.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 23, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service is Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home State Road # 82.
Vera Cline McClelland
Vera Cline McClelland died Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the age of 88. She was known as "Aunt Vera" or "Grannie Mc" by many who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. (Rabbit) McClelland and a grandson Robert Lee (Bobby) McClelland, Jr. She is survived by her two sons William J. McClelland III, and his wife Vonda of Satellite Beach, and Robert Lee McClelland, his wife Marie of Immokalee; one daughter, Annette Spires, her husband Jimmy, of Immokalee; eight grandchildren; Cheryl McClelland of Melbourne, Florida; Cindy Williamson and husband Danny of South Georgia; Jimmy spires, Jr. and his wife Jan of Fort Myers; Shari Perez and husband Lawrence of Naples; Donna Martin and husband Michael of Manta, Ecuador; Sid Burnett and wife Leigh of Naples; Cody McClelland and wife Rosie of Immokalee; Roger Eugene of Gray, GA; Paula of Grower, MO (widow of Bobby); one sister, Dorothy Crawford of Immokalee; 23 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Vera was born to Benjamin and Etta Cline on August 15, 1915, in Arcadia. She married "Rabbit" in September 1933. Vera and Rabbit came to Immokalee from Homestead, in mid-1943. Robert operated the commissary for the C.J. Jones Sawmill Company. Later they owned a drug store on Main Street until they sold it and Rabbit became a fulltime farmer. Vera went to work as a social worker for the Collier County Public School System in the Immokalee area, retiring in 1986 after 20 years of service.
Visitation was held on January 19 at the First Baptist Church in Immokalee.
Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church of Immokalee on January 20 with the Rev. Roger Bradley officiating. Internment followed at the Baptist Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice of Naples, 1095 Whipperwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
The Pall Bearers were: Sid Burnett, Cody McClelland, Jimmy Spires, Jr., Gerald Crawford, James Hays, Harold Rentz, Robert Rivers and Charles Salmon.
Honorary Pall Bearers: Laverne May, Wanda Raynor, Murray Canova, C.R. Hadley, Johnny Jump, Tommy Lancaster and James Raynor.
