Wallace "Waldo" Tommie
Wallace "Waldo" Tommie, age 53, of Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation in Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Tommie was born on Nov. 9, 1949, to Sam and Mildred Bowers Tommie, he had been a lifetime resident of Brighton. Mr. Tommie was a member of the First Seminole Indian Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by: sister, Dorothy Osceola; two brothers, Harry Tommie and Grady Tommie.
Survivors include: two brothers, Howard Tommie of Brighton and Barnabas Tommie of Hollywood; five sisters, Sadie Cypress and Irene Tommie of Big Cypress, Sally Billie and Nancy Willie of Hollywood and Elsie Lara of Brighton; and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m., at the First Indian Baptist Church of Brighton, 17375 Reservation Road N.E., with Reverend Howard Micco and Pastor Wonder Johns, officiating. Interment will follow in Ortona Cemetery.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Norma L. Denbow
Norma L. Denbow, age 78, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.
Mrs. Denbow was born on Nov. 18, 1924, in Grantown, W. Va., she had been a resident of Okeechobee for seven years. Mrs. Denbow was a member of Oakview Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Robert W. Denbow; and sister, Shirley Bishop.
Survivors include: two brothers, Jack (Audrey) Skinner of St. Joe and Bill (Sharon) Skinner of Okeechobee; nephews, Gary Skinner of Okeechobee and George Skinner and family of Tallahassee; and niece, Linda Lake and family of Fort Lauderdale also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, from 1 p.m. until funeral service at 3 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home. A private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Danny L. Boromei, Sr.
Danny L. Boromei, Sr., age 56, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.
Mr. Boromei was born on Oct. 14, 1946, in Newport, Ark., and had been a resident of Okeechobee for 54 years. He graduated from Okeechobee High School, Class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports.
Preceded in death by: his father, G.C. Lowery; and adoptive father, Johnny Boromei.
Survivors include: his mother, June Boromei of Okeechobee, son, Danny L. Boromei, Jr. of Okeechobee; daughter, Dawn (Gary) Torres of Titusville; six grandchildren; four half sisters; two uncles, Bobby Huey and J.D. Huey; and numerous other family members and friends also survive him.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Oleta P. Arnold
Oleta P. Arnold, age 85, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Arnold was born on Jan. 14, 1917, to Sandlan and Polyanne Yates Carter. She had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
Preceded in death by husband, Alfred N. Arnold.
Survivors include: son, Leslie (Judy) Arnold of Okeechobee; daughter, Margie McClure of Okeechobee; five grandsons, Edgar (Rita) Thomas, Roy (Colleen) Thomas, Leon (Sandy) Thomas, William L. (Kay) Thomas and William McClure, all of Okeechobee; three granddaughters, Susie (Wilburn) Sellers, Esta (Jamie) Hull and Debbie (Bobby) Arnold, all of Okeechobee, 19 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; brother, Kelly (LaVerne) Carter of Okeechobee; three sisters, Doris (Billy) Heckert and Annie Tyson of Okeechobee and Arzona Prebbles of Fort Pierce.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Mike Bevis, Pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy, officiating. Interment will follow in Basinger Cemetery.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

William F. Walker
William F. Walker, age 60, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
Mr. Walker was born July 3, 1942, in Washington, N.C., to Clayton F. and Nelly Tootle Walker. Mr. Walker was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
Survivors include: his mother, Nelly Walker of Okeechobee; sister, Carol Ann (George) Powell of Okeechobee; and three brothers, Joe (Drema) Walker and James Walker, both of Okeechobee, and Bruce Walker of East Branch, N.Y.
There will be no visitation or services.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Carl T. Kukol
Carl T. Kukol, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Kukol was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Farrell, Pa. He had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1989.
Mr. Kukol worked as a conductor for the railroad and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a hunter, fisherman and "teller of tales."
He was preceded in death by son, Terrance; sister, Elma; and brother, Alfred.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Mary Kukol of Okeechobee; one brother, John (Alice) Kukol of Sharon, Pa.; granddaughter, Angela (Jon) Hebel of Maryland; grandson, Jason Kukol of Atlanta, Ga., and daughter-in-law, Judith Kukol of Denver, Colo.
There will be no visitation or services.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

James Bass
James Bass, age 44, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the Fort Pierce Health Care in Fort Pierce.
Mr. Bass was born on Nov. 10, 1958, in Greenwood, Miss., to M.G. and Mary Starks Bass.
Survivors include: two sisters, Mildred Peterson of Okeechobee and Pearline Ferguson of Fort Pierce; and grandmother, Bernice Starks of Pahokee, also survives him.
There will be no visitation or services.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

William W. Cheatham
William W. Cheatham, age 60, of West Palm Beach, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at home, surrounded by friends and family. He died as he lived, never ever giving up.
Mr. Cheatham was born on June 18, 1942, in Lynchburg, Va. He attended E.C. Glass High School and graduated from Virginia Polytechnic and State University. He also attended graduate school at Virginia Tech's Pamplin School of Business. After working briefly in New York, Mr. Cheatham moved to Palm Beach. On Thanksgiving of 1968, he met the former Enid Kemper Ellis. They were married in 1970 and were blessed with five wonderful children. Mr. Cheatham coached Al Tatum Little League for several years and could also be counted on to attend every one of his children's football, volleyball, soccer, baseball and lacrosse matches. He also served on the board of the Graham-Eckes Palm Beach Academy. After his family, the greatest love of his life was time spent in the wild and natural places of Florida and the Bahamas. He was proud to have had both the Fort Center and Boar Hammock hunting camps for over 20 years. Mr. Cheatham was a tremendous bow hunter, winning several awards as well as a keen outdoorsman and was awarded "Conservationist of the Year" by Lykes Brothers in November of 2002. Bill had been involved in the construction industry as the founder of Underground Utilities Construction, Co., Underground Tank Specialties and American Environmental Engineering. At the time of his death, he was the President of Lake Oil Co., and Palmdale Oil Co. with offices in Ft. Myers, Ft. Pierce, Okeechobee and West Palm Beach. He was a past board member of the Florida Petroleum Marketers Association. Mr. Cheatham had been a member of Old Port Cove Yacht Club, The Beach Club and currently a member of the Sailfish Club of Palm Beach.
Survivors include: his wife of 32 years, Enid Kemper Ellis Cheatham; five children, Dr. William Wayne Cheatham Jr. of Boca Raton, Lachlan Long Ellis (Tonya) Cheatham and Riordan Radford Jackson (Megan) "Weedle" Cheatham, all of Jupiter, Kendall Kemper Cox Cheatham of Palm Beach Shores and Mallory Ryan Cheatham of West Palm Beach; his parents, William and Katherine Cheatham of Lynchburg, Va.; brother, Rev. Russell M. (Julie) Cheatham of Fieldale, Va.; two aunts, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Padgett of Madison Heights, Va. and Louise Woody of Lynchburg, Va.; cousin, Susan Padgett of Stuart; several other cousins, nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Jam Kemper; step mother-in-law, Mrs. Robert Ellis (Estelle); sister-in-law, Jan Stevens; brother-in-law, Matthew (Tracy) Stevens; and sister-in-law, Monet (Brian) O'Hara also survive him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1003 Allendale Road, West Palm Beach, with Reverend Hallock Martin, officiating.
The family will receive friends in the parish hall immediately following the service.

Eugene Arrington
Eugene Arrington, age 57, of Georgia, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence in Evans County, Ga.
Mr. Arrington was a native of Okeechobee and had resided in Evans County for the past 15 years. He attended God's Lighthouse Tabernacle.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Arrington of Claxton, Ga.; his mother and stepfather, Marion and Dewey Hutto of Claxton. Ga.; two sons, James and Darrell Arrington of Claxton, Ga.; two daughters, Jennifer Arrington and fiancˇ Ricky Noe and Audra Arrington of Claxton, Ga.; six grandchildren, Holly, Nathan, Makayla and Christoper Trafficanti and Hanna and Joseph Arrington, all of Claxton, Ga.
J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home, Claxton, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Erma Juanita Frady
Erma Juanita Frady, age 76, of Okeechobee, died on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Okeechobee Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Frady was born on Oct. 31, 1926, in Orlando, to Andrew and Erma "Lewis" Ferris.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include: her husband, Phillip Frady of Okeechobee; daughter, Lavon Murrish of Okeechobee; two sons, David Drawdy of Okeechobee; and Darin Drawdy of Bartow; brother, Wilbur Ferris of Vero Beach; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Dale Williamson, officiating. Interment will be at Fort Drum Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation services.

Esther Mae Thomas
Esther Mae Thomas, age 73, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Thomas was born on May 24, 1929, in Augusta, Ga.
She had been a resident of Okeechobee for 20 years and was a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. in Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas.
Survivors include: one son, Theodore Greene, Jr. of Clewiston; one daughter, Maxie L. Greene of Sandborn, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren also survive her.
There will be no visitation or services.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Hazel Beatrice McGee
Hazel Beatrice McGee, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. McGee was born on Oct. 8, 1916, in Fort Bassinger, to the pioneer family of Charles Benjamin and Mary Campbell Raulerson, she had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee. She was a member of the North Okeechobee Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Richard McGee, Sr. and son, Clarence Edward McGee.
Survivors include three sons, Emory R. (Margaret) McGee, Jr. of Cottondale, Jimmie Howard (Joan) McGee of Clewiston and Paul S. (Linda Gail) McGee of Okeechobee; one daughter, LaVerne D. (Robert A.) Williams of Okeechobee; twenty four grandchildren; fifty eight great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the North Okeechobee Church of God, 1549 NW 30th Terrace, with Rev. Noah Taylor, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Freda Louise Reed
Freda Louise Reed, age 72, of Aspers, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Reed was born on Feb. 17, 1930, in Cloverlick, W. Va.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Michael Edward Reed; sons, Donald Edward Reed and Melvin Archie Reed; and daughter, Durella Louise Worthington.
Survivors include: four sons, Michael P. Reed of Bristow, Okla., Dale Reed of Gettysburg, Pa., Darryl Reed of Biglerville, Pa. and Floyd Reed of Bristow, Okla.; six daughters, Barbara (Barry) Dellinger of Gettysburg, Pa., Connie (George) Little of Abbottstown, Pa., Phyllis (Tony) Berwager of Pennsylvania, Diane Racine of Shipinsburg, Pa., Patricia Laughlin and Donna Showers, both of Okeechobee; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Clary Meadows of West Virginia; and sister, Lena Meadows of Michigan also survives her.
A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home, with Reverend Nick Hopkins, of Believer's Fellowship Church, officiating.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Marjorie Anne Adams
Marjorie Anne Adams, age 73, of Wellington and Okeechobee, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis.
Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Syracuse, N.Y. She had been a resident of Okeechobee for twelve years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, Senior Singers, and was a retired program director of the Palm Beach chapter of the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Adams, Jr.
Survivors include: one son, Edward D. Adams, III of Wellington; four daughters, Sandra A. Bair of Lantana, Susan (Cookie) Scholes of West Palm Beach, Debra C. Emerson of Boynton and Christine L. Meese of Port St. Lucie; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in law, Dorothy McCarthy of Danbury, Conn., and Vi Tierney of Jupiter; aunt, Trudy Tierney of Charleston, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m., at the Okeechobee Presbyterian Church, 312 N. Parrott Ave., Okeechobee, with Archie Page, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Okeechobee Presbyterian Church Food Pantry or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 2444, Okeechobee, Florida 34973.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.
