Pearl M. Edington
Pearl M. Edington, age 85, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born Dec. 5 1913, in Heflin, La., Ms. Edington can to Okeechobee from Washington, D.C. in 1959. She was a bank teller by occupation and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Ms. Edington was also a member of the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalern, order of Eastern Star, Okeechobee High Twelve Club, Okeechobee A.A.R.P. Club, V.F.W. Auxiliary No. 4423, Ladies of Elks Lodge No. 2258 and a life member of Merah Ladies.
Survivors include: her daughter, Betty Haworth (Alvin) of Jupiter; one son, Don Edington (Nancy) of Brandon; four grandchildren, Janice L. Haworth, James S. Haworth, Mia Edington and John Edington; two great-grandchildren, Laura A. Haworth and Cheryl A. Edington.
Visitation will be Monday, May 7, from 5 until 7 p.m. with an Easter Star Service at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard E. Whipple officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
Lora Banks Keller
Lora Banks Keller, age 82, of Buckhead Ridge in Okeechobee, died Saturday, May 2, 2003, at her residence. Born Feb. 21, 1921, in Premium, Ky., Mrs. Keller had been a resident of Buckhead Ridge since 1995. She was a member of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church.
Survivors include: her beloved husband of 58 years, David M. Keller of Buckhead Ridge and two sisters, Ora Stokes and Cuna Mae Banks, both of Muncie, Ind.
Funeral services and interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covington, Ky. under the direction of Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Covington, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Rita Hair Watts
Rita Hair Watts, age 77, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital. Mrs. Watts was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Fort Drum, the daughter of General William and Irene Francis Padgett Hair. She lived in Okeechobee most of her life, residing in Silver Springs at one time. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and her hobbies included art and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Watts, one niece and one nephew.
Survivors include: her brothers, General William Hair, Jr. and Gerald Franklin Hair, both of Okeechobee; sister, Marie H. Roberts of Silver Springs; 15 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Buxton Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 11 a.m., with Sam Brazil officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Fort Drum Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.
Emerson B. Wade
Emerson B. Wade, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Friday, May 1, 2003, at his residence. Born January 28, 1917, in Georgia, Mr. Wade had been a resident of Okeechobee for 13 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator of U.S. Sugar Corp.
Survivors include his close friends, Judy Johnson, John Waters, Lillie Johnson and Sandra Hembree, all of Okeechobee.
There will be no visitation or services.

Bemory Lee "B.L." Pearce, Sr.
Bemory Lee "B.L." Pearce, Sr., age 81, of Ft. White, passed away May 4, 2003, in Tampa. He was born March 4, 1922, in Okeechobee. B.L. worked as a rancher, farmer and bluegrass musician.
Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Eugenia Pearce of Ft. White; children, Patsy Colquitt of Lake City, Leroy Pearce of Riverview, Kenny Pearce of Ruskin, Kay Pearce of Ft. White and Bemory Lee Pearce, Jr. of Riverview; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Luzena Howard, Anita Addison, Francis Hendry and Lonnie Pearce of Venus, Eloise Tope of Lake Placid and Herman Pearce of Lakeport.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Derita Peeples of Moore Haven.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, from 6 until 9 p.m., at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 11 a.m., at the Venus Baptist Church in Venus with Rev. Jim Lanier officiating. Prior to the funeral service there will be a viewing from 9 until 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Venus Cemetery.

Elizabeth M. (Amburgey) Anderson
Elizabeth M. (Amburgey) Anderson, age 74, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born July 31, 1926, in Winthrop Harbor, Ill., Mrs. Anderson had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1970. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks.
Survivors include: two sons, David Herman Amburgey (Debbie) and Bruce Robert Amburgey (Cam); three daughters, Betty Ann Revitzer (Dennis), JoAnn Travis (Bob) and Dee Revitzer (Doug), all of Michigan; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Additionally, her beloved friends, Jean and Don Robinson survive her.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Sunday, May 6, 2001, from 12 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted following visitation at 2 p.m.
Interment will be at a later date in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, Mich.

Lucille Ward
Lucille Ward, age 81, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Raulerson Hospital. She was born December 21, 1919. Miss Ward was a nurse for the Okeechobee County Health Department for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Pelphrey of Toledo, Ohio.
Funeral services are on Friday, May 4, 2001, at 3 p.m., graveside at the Evergreen Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Harvey J. Smith
Harvey J. Smith, 83, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, April 29, 2001. Mr. Smith was a native of Okeechobee and traveled to Delaware when the Markham Canning Plant moved there. Later, the Dupont Corp. employed him many years in Seaford, Del. In 1958, he moved to Jupiter, and was employed by Pratt and Whitney for a time before going to work in the construction trade in Palm Beach and surrounding counties. Upon retirement, he moved back to Okeechobee. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Okeechobee and a charter member of the Jupiter Light Masonic Lodge.
Preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Jane G. Smith.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Smith of Okeechobee; son, John (Anita) of Hobe Sound; daughter, Karen Smith of Okeechobee; granddaughter, Wendy Smith of Gainesville; step children, Tommy Gaughan; Patricia (Richard) Cooper; Sarah (John) Brennan and step granddaughter Krista Boring.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2001, at 3 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Thomas Dees officiating. Ashes will be interred at Riverside Memorial Park in Jupiter.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Addie B. Williams
Addie B. Williams, age 61, of Riviera Beach, died Sunday, April 30, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Born December 18, 1939, in Ala., to the late Johnnie and Melissa Walker, Addie grew up in Okeechobee and attended the Douglas Brown School.
Preceded in death by one son, Leonard Williams.
Survivors include: daughter, Rachel Williams of West Palm Beach; five grandchildren, Lemar Williams (Penny), Parechia Jarvis (Cornelius), Latisha McBride and Eric Williams, all of Okeechobee, and Melissa Williams of Gainesville. In addition, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors survive her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2001, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1057 N.E. 14th Ave., Okeechobee.
Funeral services will follow on Saturday, May 5, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Maurice Alexander, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen cemetery.

Robert L. Eubanks, Sr.
Robert L. Eubanks, Sr., age 48, of Bartow, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at his residence. Born on July 6, 1952, in Pavo, Ga., Mr. Eubanks was a Citrus Caretaker, and affiliated with the Lord's Temple Church.
Preceded in death by his brother, Danny R. Eubanks.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Eubanks of Bartow; two daughters, Phyllis West and Trudy Mae Hagwood, both of Lakeland; three sons, Robert Eubanks, Jr. of Lakeland, Jacob Eubanks and Randy Sellers, both of Bartow; father, Bobbie L. Eubanks of Okeechobee; stepmother, Dolly L. Eubanks of Okeechobee; sister, Linda Eubanks of Okeechobee; two step sisters, Doris Hawkins and Sharee Eubanks, both of Okeechobee; two step brothers, Billy Hawkins of S.C. and Andy Hawkins of Fort Pierce; two half brothers, Steve Hawkins and Matt Eubanks, both of Okeechobee; three step daughters, Nancy Norton and Lenita Norton, both of Orlando, and Gwenellen Weaver of Ellijay, Ga. And 13 grandchildren.
Visitation is at the Lord's Temple on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, between 10 and 11 a.m. in Lake Wales.
Funeral services to follow on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Lord's Temple in Lake Wales, with Reverend William Waddle officiating.
Interment to follow in Kenansville Cemetery.

Vera Burton
Vera Burton, age 87, of Okeechobee, died Monday, April 30, 2001. Born January 7, 1914, in Tampa, Mrs. Burton has been a resident of Okeechobee for 49 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a past member of the Women's Club of Okeechobee and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Burton was formerly employed as the bookkeeper and office manager of the family owned Burton's Plumbing.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 65 years, Bobbie; two sons, Roger Allan Burton and wife, Pamela, of Akron, Ohio and James Wayne Burton of Okeechobee; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Lee and wife, Peggy of Okeechobee; and two sisters, Helen Willmore of Canton, Ohio and Della Faye Regets and husband, John, of Okeechobee.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2001, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 4, 2001, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Randy Huckabee, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Emma A. Allen
Emma A. Allen, age 63, of Okeechobee, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Allen was born on March 19, 1938, in Tampa, and was a waitress by trade.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bill Allen.
Survivors include her sister, Thelma Marie Jones and husband Phillip of Okeechobee.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.

Stephen Lewis Lore
Stephen Lewis Lore, age 49, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at his residence. Born October 5, 1951, in Albany, Ky., Mr. Lore had been a resident of Okeechobee for one and a half years.
Survivors include: his mother, Caroline King of Okeechobee; one sister, Brenda L. Ballesteros and husband Ernesto of San Antonio, Texas; three nephews; two nieces; wife, Dona Lore and stepsons, David, Randy, Randy, Dan, Shawn and Cody, all of San Antonio, Texas.
There will be no visitation or services.
