Fredrick Arthur "Fritz" Hebel
Fredrick Arthur "Fritz" Hebel, age 91, of Haines City, died at his residence on Sunday, March 16, 2003.
Mr. Hebel was born on June 15, 1911, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a plumber and pipefitter by trade. He was also a member of the Coast Guard in World War II; volunteer fireman for Haines City for many years; a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary and the Pipefitters Local #629 in Tampa; an avid fisherman and a 70-year member of the First Christian Church in Haines City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hebel.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard (Doris) Hebel of Haines City and Thomas (Joyce) Hebel of Okeechobee; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren also survive him.
Visitation will be held at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 a.m., until funeral service time at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City.
Verla Jane Connelly
Verla Jane Connelly, age 73, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee. Born on May 7, 1927, in Pigeon Creek, Ala., Mrs. Connelly was a housewife.
Preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Connelly.
Survivors include: two daughters, Janet Begrin of Douglas, Wyo., and Debbie Evans of Willows, Calif.; son, David Paul Connely of Willows, Calif.; seven sisters, Bus Ezuber of Fort Myers, Ruby Deline of Lake Placid, Jeannie Davis of Wetumpka, Ala., Virginia Walker of South Bay, Lucy Cameron of Clewiston, Dorinda Lambdin of Okeechobee and Angela Kelsoe of Miami; two brothers, Lewis Kelsoe and Lee Kelsoe, both of Clewiston; five grandchildren; and, 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is on Thursday, March 15, at 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation is on Thursday, March 15, from 5 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Willows Cemetery, Willows, Calif.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Anna Marie Box
Anna Marie Box, age 89, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Box was born on Nov. 13, 1913, in Okeechobee, the daughter of Clifford Joseph and Adeline Raulerson Clements. Mrs. Box was a lifetime resident here. She was the granddaughter of Peter and Louisiana Chandler Raulerson, first settlers of Okeechobee. Marie and her husband still live in the original Raulerson log cabin homestead.
Marie was an original member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was instrumental in founding the Sacred Heart Women's Club. She taught Christian education to thousands of children in preparation for their first communion. An accomplished musician, Marie served as church organist for over 40 years and taught piano lessons for many years. She was a valued member of the Okeechobee Historical Society.
Marie was preceded in death by: her brothers, Ted Clements, Ivan Clements, Hubert Clements and Dude Clements; and sisters, Teresa Winnie and Lois Selph.
Survivors include: her beloved husband of 62 years, C.L. Box of Okeechobee; son, Paul Box and his wife, Patti of Okeechobee; daughter, Margaret Cable and her husband, Carl of Okeechobee; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Box and Lauren Terry of Okeechobee; and grandson, Jordan Terry of Okeechobee.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Monday, March 17, from 4 until 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 701 S.W. Sixth St., from 9 until 10 a.m.
A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m., with Father Hugh Duffy, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

James Marion Craig
James Marion Craig, age 87, died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee. Born on Jan. 9, 1914 in Fordsville, Ky., he was a resident of Wheatsville, Indiana for over 30 years. Mr. Craig was self employed as a owner/operator of Fifty States Landscaping, after retiring in 1980 he moved to Okeechobee, and was affiliated with the Free Will Baptist Church of North Judson, Ind.
Preceded in death by: his parents, one sister, Dicie Brite of Calif., and one daughter, Marian Holbrook of West Palm Beach.
Survivors include: four sons; Kenneth (Elenor) Craig and James (Sallie) Craig, both of North Judson, Ind., Robert (Donna) Craig of Valparalso, and Bradley (Brenda) Craig of San Pierre, three daughters; Marjorie (Homer) Howard of Valparalso, Barbara (Chris) Whitaker, and Terri (Craig) Whitaker, of Wheatfield, Ind., 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren,four sisters; Mary (Ed) Brite of Wales, FL., Wanda (Brud) Doell of Lake Wales, Edith Savitz of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Ethel Yanchus of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Funeral service is on Friday, March 16, 2001 at the Boersma Funeral Home in Wheatfield, Ind., with Reverend Jerry Hall officiating.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Boersma Funeral Home in Wheatfield, Indiana.
Beatrice "Aunt Bea" Colton
Beatrice "Aunt Bea" Colton, age 82, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Raulerson Hospital. Born September 1, 1918 in Quincy, Florida, Mrs. Colton had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1926. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Dean's Court.
Preceded in death by; her husband, Tweety Colton; daughter, Joyce Colton; three sisters, Louide, Jessie Lee and Lilia; two brothers, Roy and T.J.
Survivors include: her devoted daughter, Joan Colton Thomas (Robert) and son, Johnny Colton (Susie), all of Okeechobee; two grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
Friends may call at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Dean's Court, 811 N.W. Ninth Street, on Saturday, March 17, 2001 from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted following visitation with Reverend Leroy Smith, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

James Ronald "Ronnie" Jones
James Ronald "Ronnie" Jones, age 60, of Canal Point, died Monday, March 12, 2001. Born September 29, 1940 in Pahokee, Mr. Jones has been a resident of Canal Point for 23 years. he was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by: his brothers, Ralph Dalton Jones, Archie Thomas Jones and Dale Allen Jones; and sister, Reba Jones Davis.
Survivors include: his wife of 26 years, Sharon Jones of Okeechobee; one son, James Ronald Jones II, of Okeechobee; one daughter, Jennifer Jones Hickman (Keith) of Okeechobee; two granddaughters; Jordan Brianna Hickman and Kalyn Elizabeth Hickman of Okeechobee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home of Thursday, March 15, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. following visitation.

Helen C. Robinson
Helen C. Robinson, age 79, of Okeechobee, died Monday, March 12, 2001 at Raulerson Hospital. Born September 22, 1921 in Lyons, Ga., Mrs. Robinson had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1935. She was a member of Oakview Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, John and son, Joseph.
Survivors include: two sons; John Robinson (Connie) of Ceroitos, Calif., and Ronald E. Robinson (Debbie) of Jacksonville; one daughter-in-law, Melody; three sisters, Eupha Mae Hare and Jessie Frost of Okeechobee and Ellouise Weyhe of Montgomery, Ala.
There will be no visitation or services.

David E. Drennan
David E. Drennan, age 65, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, March 13, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Drennan was born on Dec. 7, 1937, in San Francisco, Calif. Mr. Drennan had been a resident of Okeechobee for three and a half years and was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include: two sons, Grant Drennan and Kevin Drennan, both of Arcadia; three daughters, Cheryl Drennan of Oklahoma, Yetty Chasse of Connecticut and Catherine Drennan of California; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Dellaria of Ohio and Susann Leisman of Punta Gorda.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, from noon until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home, with Reverend Gene Roddenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Basinger Cemetery.

Franklin Lamar Silasavage
Franklin Lamar Silasavage, age 71, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Silasavage was born on Dec. 14, 1931, in Pitman, Pa., and had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1978. Mr. Silasavage was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No. 20.
Preceded in death by: his son, Brian Lee Silasavage; and daughter, Donna Burke.
Survivors include: his beloved wife of 34 years, Sandi Silasavage of Okeechobee; son, Keith Silasavage; two grandchildren, Matthew and Tonya Silasavage; and one great-grandchild, Briana Silasavage, all of Leesport, Pa.; two brothers, Paul Silasavage and William Silasavage of Ohio; and one sister, Louise Zimmer of Fountain Valley, Calif.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, March 14, at 4 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel.

Mattie Irene Page Spivey
Mattie Irene Page Spivey, age 87, of Okeechobee, died Monday, March 10, 2003, in Okeechobee.
Mrs. Spivey was a native of Soperton, Ga. and was a 55-year resident of Brunswick, Ga. She lived in Okeechobee for one year. She retired as a Jekyll Island motel manager. Mrs. Spivey was a former member of Blythe Island Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday school class. She was a member of Bassinger Baptist Church in Okeechobee. Mrs. Spivey also served as a Pink Lady at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Melvin Spivey.
Survivors include: son, Richard Hubbell (Mabel) Spivey of Okeechobee; daughter, June (Randy) Tedder of Brunswick, Ga.; brother, John A. Page of Metter, Ga.; sister, Juanita Williams of Soperton, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Nita (Bill) Foster of St. Simons Island, Tony (Robin) Williams of Brunswick, Ga., Randy (Kathy) Williams of Tampa, Ronda (Chris) Outler of Alston, Ga., Richard (Connie) Spivey and Ivy (Jennie) Spivey, all of Okeechobee and Butch (Holly) Spivey of Fernandina Beach; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12, at the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to the donor's favorite charity.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Georgia, with Reverend Scott Underwood officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Georgia.

Edgar Raymond Quinlan
Edgar Raymond Quinlan, age 71, of Okeechobee, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Augusta, Ky. Mr. Quinlan had been a resident of Okeechobee for 19 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Sylvia Quinlan of Okeechobee; mother, Beulah King of Ohio; sons, Bruce Quinlan and Roger Quinlan of Okeechobee, David Quinlan of Springfield, Ohio and Steve Quinlan of Fort Pierce; two daughters, Karen Hunter of Okeechobee and Sharon Quinlan of Fort Pierce; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby King, Donald, Bobby, Jimmy, Johnny and Benny; and sisters, Fern, Joyce and Bonnie.
There will be no visitation or services.

Fred Junior Osceola
Fred Junior Osceola, age 57, of Brighton Indian Reservation, died Friday, March 9, 2001. He has lived on Brighton Reservation most of his life and was also born on Brighton Reservation.
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Addie Osceola of Brighton; four sons, Rodney, Reno and Billy all of Brighton and Ramsey of Hollywood; one daughter, Abby James of Okeechobee; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Osceola of Big Cypress; and, one sister, Penny Jimmy of Bradenton. He is also survived by his nephews, Nathan, Rory, Jessie, Christopher and, niece Lonnie.
Services will be held at the Big Cypress Indian Reservation Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 12.
Interment will follow with Rev. Wonder Johns officiating the services.
