Ruby P. Weller, age 86, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1914, in Washing Court House, Ohio, she was a resident since 1989 of Okeechobee after spending 36 years in Vero Beach.
Survivors include: her husband of 42 years, Kermit Weller of Okeechobee; two sons, Bob Wigglesworth and wife Norma of Okeechobee and Allan Weller and wife Mary Jane of Piqua, Ohio; two daughters, Cheryl Wright and husband Ernie of Inglis and Catherine Welbaum and husband Don of Troy, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Stleum and Helen Wallace both of Wilmington, Ohio; two brothers, Ernest Walker of Wilmington, Ohio and Donald Walker of Xenia, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and, four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons.
Friends may visit on Friday, March 9, from 11 a.m. until noon at Aycock Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Pierce. A funeral service will be held at noon in the chapel.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
Arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
Carl Scott Campbell
Carl Scott Campbell, age 8, of Buckhead Ridge, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born Dec. 29, 1992, in St. Clair, Mich.
Survivors include: his parents, Michael and Betty Lou Casanova of Okeechobee; three sisters, Jennifer Bailey of Port Huron, Mich., McKenzie Lewandowski and Alexandra Lear both of Okeechobee; maternal grandmother, Theresa Hooper of Okeechobee; and, paternal grandmother, Dorothy Campbell of Smiths Creek, Mich.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at Oakview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Rice officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Toly A. Poleshuk
Toly A. Poleshuk, age 86, of Okeechobee, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Poleshuk was born on Sept. 6, 1916, in Chicago, Ill. He was machine operator for General Motors in Lansing, Mich., and served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Survivors include: stepson, Chester Wjsko of Mooers, N.Y.; and sister, Lily Flaherty of Ocala also survives him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, in Mooers. N.Y. Interment will be held at St. Anne's Cemetery in Mooers Forks, N.Y.

Ella Holmes
Ella Holmes, age 94, of Fort Pierce, died March 5, 2003.
Mrs. Holmes was born in Williamstown, N.J. and came to Fort Pierce in 1919 from Collingswood, N.J. Mrs. Holmes was a retail seamstress. In the forties, she worked for Rosslow's, from 1949-1972, she worked for Canaday's Drugs part time, from 1949-1960, she established and operated Orange Ave. Garage, from 1960-1968, she worked in Titusville with Mackie Co., a NASA contractor, and from 1968-1972, she resided in Bassinger, Florida. She was an Eastern Star member for 50 years, a life member of D.A.V., and a VFW Aux. in Hendersonville, N.C.
Preceded in death by: ; two sons, Edgar Allen and William Holmes of Fort Pierce; and one predeceased brother, William J. Adams of Fort Pierce.
Survivors include: her son, Raymond D. Holmes of Fort Pierce; two daughters, Marie Iris Rector of Satellite Beach and Mary Ellen Bryant of Fort Pierce; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren
At Ella's request there will be no formal funeral service and an Inurnment will be in the family plot in Bassinger Cemetery.

Henry S. Wilson, Jr.
Henry S. Wilson, Jr., of Okeechobee died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Okeechobee.
Mr. Wilson was born on Feb. 4, 1983, in Pahokee and had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
Survivors include: son, Justin Wilson of Okeechobee; mother, Betty Dixon of Okeechobee; father, Henry Wilson, Sr. of Okeechobee; two brothers, Reginald Mayes and Virgil Dixon, both of Okeechobee; five sisters, Vernita Wilson, Tamara Dixon, Rhonda Hall, all of Okeechobee, Connie Armstrong of Atlanta, Ga. and Dorothy Hinton of Vermont.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 8, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. until noon, at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Dean Court, Okeechobee.
Funeral services will follow visitation at noon, at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Dean Court. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Rillie Lucinda Sallette
Rillie Lucinda Sallette, age 84, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Sallette was born on Dec. 13, 1918, in Basinger and had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tip Sallette and son, Perry Sallette, I.
Survivors include: five grandchildren, Perry Sallette II, Robert Sallette and Kevin Sallette, all of Okeechobee, Rene Queen of North Carolina and Tip Sallette of Cocoa Beach; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren also survive her.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 9, from 3 until 5 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Burney, Pastor of Haven Ministries, officiating. Interment will follow in Basinger Cemetery.

Myrtice G. Bennett
Myrtice G. Bennett, age 86, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility. Mrs. Bennett was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Alma, Ga. She came to Okeechobee from Dade county in 1973.
Survivors include: daughter, Pat McCann and her husband Mac of Okeechobee; son, Kenneth W. Taylor of Okeechobee; sister, Lavada Johnson of Alma, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and, 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is on Wednesday, March 7, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral service is Thursday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Joe Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Carol J. Marker, age 56, of Okeechobee died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at her residence. She was born on Feb. 23, 1945, in Okeechobee. Mrs. Marker worked in the Food Service industry.
Survivors include: her husband, Bernard Marker Sr. of Okeechobee; two daughters, Sherri Hardman and husband Bob, and Ann Marker and husband Kevin all of Okeechobee; two sons, Bernard Marker Jr. of Okeechobee and Russell Marker of Bartow; three brothers, Raymond Lee King, Paul Wayne King and Hubert W. Storey all of Okeechobee; 10 grandchildren; and, one great-grandchild.
Visitation is on Wednesday, March 7, from 2 p.m. until funeral service time at 4 p.m., the same day at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Cindy Marie Shreves, age 38, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, March 3, 2001. Born Nov. 14, 1962, Mrs. Shreves had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include: her mother, Mary Joyce Gill; three daughters, Jamie Marie Shreves, Kylie Dion Eckhardt and Kaylie Joyce Eckhardt; two brothers, Buster Waymon Brock and David Gill; three sisters, Kathy Simmons, Mary Cruz and Martha Allen; and, two granddaughters Destiny Shreves and Kiara Hernandez, all of Okeechobee.

Leanne Denise Mahley
Leanne Denise Mahley, age 39, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, March 1, 2003.
She was born on May 26, 1963, in Cambridge, Ohio. Leanne lived in Lantana for 30 years of her life and for the past year and a half she made her home in Okeechobee. She attended school in Lantana for elementary through middle school years and attended high school at Lake Worth High. She was previously employed at Palm Beach Rehabilitation Center for a number of years. For most of her employment history she served as a private duty healthcare nurse.
Leanne was preceded in death by Randall Scott Mansfield, father of her son, Brandon.
Survivors include: her children, Jennifer Harris and Brandon Mahley; her mother, Joyce (Ronnie) Cale; her sister, Cynthia (David) Coffman; her brother, Russell (Tammy) Cale; niece, Annie; nephews, David and Trenton; and grandchildren, Marleigh Denise and Jacob.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2003, from 2 until 3:30 p.m., at Del Lago Funeral Home in Lake Worth. Funeral services will immediately follow.

Marie Lamb-Myers, age 78, of Cummings, Ga., formerly of Okeechobee, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 in Cummings, Ga.
Preceded in death by: her husband, O'Riley Myers; daughter, Sandra Caulwell; grandson, Jeffrey Reinke; sister, Margaret Roe; brother, Leonard Kachinosky; and second husband, John B. Lamb.
Survivors include: her children, Marcy Apel of Gaylord, Mich., Sally Reinke of Grand Rapids, Mich., Betty Smith of Cummings, Ga., and Janet Lenartowicz of Deford, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Perino of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Shirley Threlfall of Peoria, Ariz.; one brother, Robert Kachinosky; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive her.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, March 8, 2003, at 11 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee.

William "Bubba" Howard Pearce
William "Bubba" Howard Pearce, age 64, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in Stuart. Mr. Pearce was born April 5, 1938, in Carbon Hill, Ala. He had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1980. He was the plantation manager and dog trainer for Rollins Blue Cypress Ranch-Yeehaw Plantation. Bubba was a member of the National Rifle Association, Georgia/Florida Field Trial Club and First United Methodist Church of Carbon Hill.
Survivors include: one son, Ray (Kim) Pearce of Albany, Ga.; one daughter, Tina Cauley of Thomasville, Ga.; beloved friend and companion of many years, Kay Kline of Okeechobee; one grandson, Keith Cauley of Thomasville, Ga., three granddaughters, Ashli Cauley of Thomasville, Casey Pearce and Kelly Pearce of Albany, Ga.; four sisters, Elaine (David) McGough and Mary Virginia (Joe Frank) Files, all of Carbon Hill, Ala., Sarah Jane (Lamar) Soper of Laurenceburg, Ind., and Lucille (Josef) Vellner of Sweden.
