Frank McClelland, age 75, of Sebring, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at his residence.
He was born in Kenansville. Mr. McClelland was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was the former owner of a paint and body shop and also an upholstery shop, both in West Palm Beach. He moved to Sebring this year after having lived for many years in Okeechobee. Mr. McClelland was a member of the VFW in Okeechobee and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen of Sebring; sons, Frank W. McClelland of Zolfo Springs and Marshall J. McClelland of West Palm Beach; daughters, Bonnie Lee Moree of Sebring, Lisa M. Douglas and Dawn R. McCann, both of Zolfo Spring; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Sebring.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at the Morris Funeral Chapel in Sebring. Military graveside honors will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee at 2 p.m.
Margaret Spear Blair
Margaret Spear Blair, age 88, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
Mrs. Blair was born on March 3, 1914, in Perry, Ohio, the daughter of Worthy A. and Lena (Davis) Spear. Mrs. Blair was a secretary in a government institution by trade.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard Morris Blair of Okeechobee; two daughters, Margie Lamb Merrill of Land O'Lakes and Richelle "Rikki" Blair of Concord, Ohio also survives her.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 3, at 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Hudson, officiating. Interment will be in Chardon Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.

Bertie Abney Perkins
Bertie Abney Perkins, age 83, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
Ms. Perkins was born on Dec. 17, 1919, in Lee County, Ky. She has been a resident of Okeechobee since 1981 and was a member of the Okeechobee Christian Church.
Preceded in death by: three brothers, Cecil, Hisel and Virgil Abney.
Survivors include: her daughter, Brenda (James) Luster of Okeechobee; grandson, Charles Michael Montgomery of Okeechobee; sister, Hazel (Philip) Cuzick of Richmond, Ky.; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive her.
Friends may call on Monday, March 3, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home. Further services will take place in Richmond, Ky., with interment at the Richmond Cemetery.

George P. Huxoll
George P. Huxoll, age 89, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
Mr. Huxoll was born on Oct. 7, 1913, in Bremen, Germany. Mr. Huxoll had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1973. He was a member of the Church of God; he enjoyed fishing and had been a ball room dance instructor.
Survivors include: two sons, George P. Huxoll, Jr., of Canandaigua, N.Y. and James Huxoll of Frederick, Pa.; daughter, Judith L. Mumford of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchild also survive him.
Friends may call on Monday, March 3, from noon until 3 p.m. at the Buxton Funeral Home. Additional services will take place at the Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick, Pa.

Marion V. Swartz
Marion V. Swartz, age 65, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
Mr. Swartz was born on Oct. 22, 1937, in Kenton, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Ruth Hart Swartz. Marion had had been resident of Okeechobee since 1983 and was a machinist by trade.
Preceded in death by: two daughters, Kelly Cornell and Lisa Ann Swartz.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Ann Swartz of Okeechobee; two sons, Kevin Swartz of Howell, Mich. and Tim Swartz of Okeechobee; six grandchildren; and one step-brother, Gene Lawrence of Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, from 3 until 5 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 3, at 10 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Amelia M. Hescott
Amelia M. Hescott, age 89, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Okeechobee Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Hescott was born on July 7, 1913, in New Jersey and had been a resident of Okeechobee for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hescott.
There will be no visitation or services.

Edwin B. McGarrah
Edwin B. McGarrah, 87, of LaBelle died February 13, 2003. He was born in Plains, GA March 28, 1915. A resident of LaBelle for seven years, he was retired and a member of the VFW, Cooties, American Legion, Elks and Gopher Candy Club of Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, of LaBelle; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin P. McGarrah.
Mr. McGarrah graduated from Homestead High School in Homestead, FL and attended Stetson University in DeLand.
Cremation took place under the direction of Akin-Davis Funeral Home.
Mary Ann Bray
Mary Ann Bray, age 73 of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 at JFK Medical Center in Lakeworth.
Born on June 4, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Bray has been a resident of Okeechobee for 14 years.
Preceded in death by her daughter Marcia.
Survivors include: her husband of 54 years, Kenneth E. Bray of Okeechobee, one son, Kenneth E. Bray, Jr. of Pennellas Park, three daughters, Jacqulyn Hilley and husband Jerry of Ontario, Calif., Karol Stratton and husband Chuck of Howard City, Mich., and Karen McArthur and husband Tom of Okeechobee. In addition, survivors include 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, brother John Burleson of Wyoming, Mich., and two sisters Judy Eaton of Grant, Mich., and Flossie Vert of Rockford, Mich.
There will be no visitation or services.

Ira Clay (Tim) Waller
Ira Clay (Tim) Waller, age 75 of Buckhead Ridge died Friday, Feb. 23, 3001 at his residence.
Preceded in his death by his wife Rebecca.
Survivors include: one son, Timothy Wayne Waller of Orange Park, one daughter, Diann Patrick of Buckhead Ridge, four granddaughters; Valerie Schanker, April Heller and Rebecca Rodriguez all of Orange Park, and Tammy Ann Dover of Orlando. In addition, he is survived by eight grandchildren.
A member of the Episcopal faith, Mr. Waller served in the U.S. Marines.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001 at 7 p.m.

Donald L. Bunn
Donald L. Bunn, age 75, of Okeechobee and Connecticut, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at his residence.
A 15 year winter resident of Okeechobee, Mr. Bunn was preceded in death by one son Norman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include: one son, Donald I. Bunn, Jr. of Terryville, Conn.. four daughters, Bonnie Ogonowski and Sharon Belanger also of Terryville, Conn., Cora R. Bell and Husband Randy of Harwinton, Conn., and Laurie Traukaskaus of Athens, Texas. In addition, survivors include 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Raymond and Charles Bunn of Bristol, Conn., and one sister, Norma Kozlak of Canton, Conn.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Scott Funeral Home in Terryville, Conn. with interment taking place in the Burlington Center Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

George Dennis Vinson
George Dennis Vinson, age 43, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at his residence.
Born Oct. 17, 1957, in Folkston, Ga., Mr. Vinson had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee. Mr. Vinson's interests included car racing and computers.
Survivors include: his wife of 24 years, Vicki; one son, Jeremy Wayne Vinson; two daughters, Shannon Jones and husband Coy and Jessica Snow and husband Weston, all of Okeechobee. In addition, he survived by grandsons Jeremy Wayne Vinson Jr. and Clay Snow both of Okeechobee, his parents, George and Joann Vinson of St. Mary's, Ga., and three sisters, Kathy Litteral and husband J.P. and Georgann Hewitt and husband Frank also of Okeechobee and Julie Melendez and husband Eric of St. Mary's Ga.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 5 until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel.

Jeanette R. Griffin
Jeanette R. Griffin, age 79, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1922, in Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Griffin had been a resident of Okeechobee for 25 years.
Preceded in death by her husband Adron Franklin Griffin, son Bruce, brothers Todd Rigsby and Denton Rigsby and sister Grace, she was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tara Pottorf.
Survivors include: three daughters, Linda Creech of Okeechobee, Catherine Pottorf of Cincinnati, Ohio and Etta Levitt and husband Larry of Boulder, Colo. In addition, survivors include seven grandchildren, brother Gus Rigsby of Nicoholasville, Ky., twin sister Jackie Sturm of Palm Bay, and sister Ruth Reynolds of Centerville , Ohio.
Visiting hours, services and interment will take place through the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington, Ky. All local arrangements are under the direction of the Buxton Funeral Home.
Barbara Jane Alexander
Barbara Jane Alexander was born on Oct. 18, 1919, in Elwood, Ind., to Ralph Leo and Vivian Burris Cox. She grew up in Elwood and married Lawrence "Dutch" Alexander soon after graduating from high school.
Two children arrived to make the family complete. Steve was born Jan. 28, 1943, and Toby on Dec. 13, 1944. After returning from service in World War II, the family moved to a farm near Curtisville. Barbara was active supporting the children's school and community activities at Curtisville Grade School and Windfall High School, and also shared the work of tending garden and animals on the family farm. She was a wonderful cook, and holiday dinners were usually timed so that everyone was ravenous before the meal began. First and foremost, she was a devoted wife and mother.
After Dutch's retirement in 1975, they moved to Okeechobee, and enjoyed many years of fishing, flea markets and friends. Photos of her give grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were always nearby. On July 27, 2000, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include: her husband Dutch of Okeechobee; daughter Toby Weismiller of Silver Springs, Md.; son Steve of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and, four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 18, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel.
