Wyman Marion Lambert, Jr., age 73, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Lambert was born on Nov. 6, 1929, in West Palm Beach. Mr. Lambert, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, had been a resident of Okeechobee for 14 months. He served in the U.S. Navy for four and one half years.
Survivors include: two sons, Wyman M. Lambert, III, of New York City, NY, and Michael Douglas Lambert of California; one daughter, Barbara Ann Lambert of California; and two brothers, Jack Lambert of Jupiter and Robert Lambert of Colorado.
There will be no visitation or services.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.
Janie Faye Money
Janie Faye Money, age 59, of LaBelle, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at her daughter's residence in Okeechobee.
Mrs. Money was born on May 20, 1943, in Alabama. Mrs. Money had been a resident of LaBelle since 1980.
Survivors include: her husband of 30 years, Woody Money of LaBelle; daughter, Dina (Danny) Ray of Okeechobee; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Katherine Hall of LaBelle also survives her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.

Louise S. Bass
Louise S. Bass, age 77, of Fort Meade, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Bass was born on Sept. 17, 1925, in Washington, Ga. She was a lifelong resident of Polk County, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: her husband of 51 years, Henry C. Bass of Fort Meade; daughter, Mary Ann Pollard of Mims; son, Frank Johnson of Fort Meade; two step-sons, Henry E. Bass and Ronnie Bass, both of Fort Meade; two sisters, Billy Joe Linsay and Sue Lee, both of Lakeland; brother, Bobby Short of Gardner; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, from 6 until 7 p.m., at the McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade.
Funeral services will be conducted graveside on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at 1 p.m., at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade.
Thelma Henry
Thelma Henry, age 68, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Indian River Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Henry was born on June 23, 1934, in Brownsville, Tenn. Mrs. Henry moved from Okeechobee and has been a resident of Vero Beach since 1956.
Survivors include: five sons, Aubrey Shaw, Anthony Henry, Eddie Henry, James Henry and Vernel Shaw, all of Vero Beach; daughter, Wanda Shaw of Vero Beach; brother, James Shaw of Okeechobee; two sisters, Jimmie Lou Potts of Okeechobee and Fannie Shaw of Vero Beach; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, from 4 until 8 p.m., at the Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel in Gifford, located at 3950 Old Dixie Highway, Gifford, Florida.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at 11 a.m., at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Deans Court, Okeechobee. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Okeechobee.

William Thomas Meier
William Thomas Meier, age 46, of Buckhead Ridge in Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
Mr. Meier was born on Sept. 17, 1956, in Rochester, N.Y. and had been a resident of Okeechobee for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include: his mother and stepfather, David and Jeanne S. Grooms of Okeechobee; two brothers, Terry (Lonnie) Grooms of Matthews, N.C. and Thomas (Donna) Dinkins of Palm City; one sister, Susan (Boo) Lowery of Stuart; and a host of aunts and uncles also survive him.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone attending wear casual attire in honor of Mr. Meier.

Michael C. Gurny
Michael C. Gurny, 59, of Port Saint Lucie died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001 at YeeHaw Junction, Florida. Michael C. Gurny was born in Bronx, N.Y. He came to this area from Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y., and has lived here for 21 years. Mr. Gurny was an Owner/Operator of Tri-County Mortuary Transfer Service since 1985. He retired after 16 years from N.Y. City Police Department, and Saint Lucie Sheriff's office for two years, and a former Boy Scout Leader. He was a member of the Saint Lucie Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie.
Preceded in his death by his parents Conrad and Esther Gurny.
Survivors include: his wife, Paulette Gurny of Port Saint Lucie, son; Stephen T. Gurny of Lake Worth, brother; Conrad Gurny of Port Saint Lucie, four sisters; Judith Saliba of Port Saint Lucie, Teena Anatala of Brooklyn, N.Y., Connie Senatore of Odenville, Ala., Rochelle Baranoski of Hampton Bay, L.I., N.Y.
Visitation is on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. (Vigil Service) at Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services are on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. at Saint Lucie Catholic Church.

Joe Henry Tiger
Joe Henry Tiger, age 85, of Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation in Okeechobee, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Tiger was born on Sept. 20, 1917, at Tamiami Trail, Mr. Tiger had been a lifetime resident of Brighton. He was a cattle owner of the Seminole Tribe and the oldest deacon of the First Indian Baptist Church of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goby Micco Tiger; son, Rufas Tiger, Sr.; daughter, Virginia Lee Tiger; grandson, Luke Tiger; sisters, Annie Tiger Bowers and Ruby Tiger Osceola; and brother, John Frank Tiger.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sarah Ann (Gary) Sampson and son, Amos (Lynell) Tiger, both of Okeechobee; three grandsons, Rufus (Dora) Tiger, Jr. of Hollywood, Joseph Quinn Tiger of Indiantown and Pittman (Justa) Jason Sampson of Okeechobee; one granddaughter, Billie Kerri Tiger of Bowling Green; one stepdaughter, Rosie Jane Billie of Okeechobee; four step grandsons, Weems (Donna) Buck, Shane (Arica) Buck, Sampson (Shannon) Gopher, Marvin (Melissa) Hines, all of Okeechobee; one step-granddaughter, Emma (Jesse) Jane Urbina of Okeechobee; 20 great-grandchildren, Austin Sampson, Quinton Tiger, Cody Tiger, Dylan Sampson, Joshua Tiger, Jason Sampson, Lucinda (Kelvis) Josh of Arizona, Yahola Buck and Sonja Buck of Oklahoma, Jewel Buck, Ross Urbina, Dustin Osceola, Nathan Tobi, Allison Reed Gopher, Mike Kirkland, Shannon West, Kerri Hines, Lindsey Tomaszewski; four great- great grandchildren, Hillary Josh, Shaylene Josh, Sazie Rose Buck and Gage Buck; sister, Mary Tiger of Hollywood; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive him.

Robert J. Underwood
Robert J. Underwood, age 29, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in Okeechobee.
Mr. Underwood was born on Dec. 5, 1973, in West Palm Beach, the son of Robert F. Underwood and Ruth E. Deese Garces. He was a painter by trade.
Survivors include: his mother, Ruth E. Garces of Okeechobee; sister, Esther Garces of West Palm Beach; grandmother, Ruth McArthur of West Palm Beach and stepfather, Gustavo Escobedo of Okeechobee.
Services were held on Feb. 8, 2003, at the Treasure Island Baptist Church.

Martha Jane Harmon
Martha Jane Harmon, age 70, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born March 17, 1930, in Fairmont, W.Va., Mrs. Harmon had resided in Okeechobee since 1955.
Preceded in death by one son, Gregory Harmon, survivors include three sons, George Harmon Jr., Gordon Harmon and Glenn Harmon (Judy) all of Okeechobee; one daughter, Gloria Allen (Doyce) of Okeechobee; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Gaskil, David Gaskil and Vance Gaskil of Morgantown, W.Va. and Red Gaskil of Gray, Ga.; and, two sisters, Jerry Mercer and Vera Drain of Morgantown, W.Va.

Edward Dowe Tyner
Edward Dowe Tyner, age 73, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1927, in Okeechobee, Mr. Tyner had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee. He was a member of the North Okeechobee Church of God.
He was predeceased by his son, Dowe Tyner and daughter, Denita Tyner.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 54 years, Reta Tyner of Okeechobee; two sons, Durwin Tyner (Patricia) and Dellen Tyner (Sharon) all of Basinger; four daughters, Dale Tyner of Lantana, Delta Deadwyler (Don) of Branford, Deanna Tyner of Gainesville and Dorinda Mixon (Gerry) of Basinger; four grandsons, Durwin Tyner, Darryel Tyner and Vince Tyner, all of Basinger and Dallas Deadwyler (Erin) of Branford; two granddaughters, Cindy Tyner Pearce (Jason) of Frostproof and Shawna Tyner of Basinger; two great-grandsons, Michael Coker of Frostproof and Ocean Tyner of Basinger and one great-granddaughter, Josie Pearce of Frostproof. In addition, he is also survived by one sister, Gertie Jones of Labelle; one stepgrandson, Ronnie Deadwyler; three stepgranddaughters, Debbie, Mary and Becky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Lowe Conerly
Evelyn Lowe Conerly, age 72, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Conerly was born on April 15, 1930, in Frostproof. She was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee and a member of the Oakview Baptist Church. Mrs. Conerly was an avid reader, enjoyed life, being with her family, crafts and travel.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Patrick Conerly; son, Roger A. Lowe; and sisters, Marie Hare and Mildred Smith.
Survivors include: three sons, Phillip (Judy) Lowe of Bay Springs, Miss., Marcus (Connie) Lowe of Okeechobee and Tim (LouAnn) Lowe of Port Charlotte; daughter, Lennie (Michael) Smith of Okeechobee; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton (Charlotte) Rhoden of Okeechobee, Herbert Rhoden of Abbeville, Ala.; and four sisters, Dewilda Boney of Okeechobee, Dora Helen (Frank) Ishii of St. Louis. Mo., Johnnie (Stanlo) Johns of Brighton and Dolores Vickers of Okeechobee.

Mrs. Hester B. Bean
Mrs. Hester B. Bean, age 81, of Conover, N.C., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at the Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.
Mrs. Bean was born on Feb. 24, 1921, in Petersburg, Va., the daughter of the late Ernest and Ada Belcher Beach. Mrs. Bean was a retired textile worker and a lifelong member of the Okeechobee VFW 10539 and also a past president. She was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church in Connelly Springs, N.C. and a past president of the United Methodist Women.
Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lee Bean.
Survivors include: her daughter, Virginia Lewis of Conover, N.C.; grandson, Glen A. Sherill of Maiden, N.C.; and great-grandson, Cameron Lee Sherill of Maiden, N.C.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 7:30 until 8 p.m. at the Drum Funeral Home, Conover, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m., in the Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Conover, N.C. Interment will be at Catawba Memorial Park, N.C.
