Melvia M. Livingston
Melvia M. Livingston, age 96, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Livingston was born on Jan. 12, 1907, in Vincennes, Ind. Mrs. Livingston had recently moved to Okeechobee and had resided in the Canal Point area since 1936. She had served as an Observer for military planes flying over the area during World War II and was a member of the Canal Point Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Leland.
Survivors include: her son, Larry (Faith) Livingston of Okeechobee; daughter, Linda (Henry) Pelham of Clewiston; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice Foreman of Okeechobee; and niece, Sandra Fizell of West Palm Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 10, at the Port Myaca Cemetery, with Reverend George Bryant of Hi-Haven Baptist Church of Clewiston, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.
Kenneth Leland "Lee" Post
Kenneth Leleand "Lee" Post, 66, of Sebring, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001 at his residence. A native of Bristol, Conn., he came to Sebring eight years ago from West Palm Beach. He was the owner of a lawn care business. He was a member of Moose Lodge # 1753, Okeechobee and a Moose Legionnaire.
Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn L. Post of Sebring; three children, Kenneth L. Post, Jr., of Okeechobee, Sheri Jenne of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Jacki Post of Palm Beach Gardens; one grandson, Jacob Cattrill of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Fountain Funeral Home Chapel, with Father John Belfield, officiating.
Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
All arrangements are entrusted under the direction and care of Fountain Funeral Home, Avon Park.
Fountain Funeral Home is located at 507 U.S. 27 North, Avon Park.
Gregory James Russakis
Gregory James Russakis, age 31, of Fort Pierce, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 in West Palm Beach. Mr. Russakis was born in Fort Pierce, and had been a resident all his life.
Mr. Russakis was President of South Florida Hedging and Topping, Owner/Partner of Russakis Ranch Limited, Co-Owner and Partner of Southern Oaks Tree Farm, all in Fort Pierce. He loved hunting, fishing and racing. He was a member of the National Turkey Federation, National Hot Rod Association, Ducks Unlimited and a Special Deputy, of Saint Lucie County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors include: Son, Garret J. Russakis of Fort Pierce; Mother, Sheila Blair of Thomasville, N.C.; Father, Jim G. Russakis of Fort Pierce; Brother, Nick J. Russakis of Fort Pierce; Grandmother, Nadine Ward of West Palm Beach.
Calling hours are on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Pierce.
Services are at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb.12, 2001 at Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home, located at 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, with Reverend Craig Bridgers of The Crossings Community Church officiating.
Burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce.

Anne Bond
Anne Bond, age 90, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Miss Bond was born on April 12, 1912, in Benld, Ill., the daughter of Nicholas and Anastasia Senich Frencko.
Miss Bond was a self-employed operator of Lakeshore Truck Stop. She has been a resident of Okeechobee for 47 years.
Survivors include: sons, Larry (Helen) Bond of Okeechobee and Kenneth Bond of Jacksonville; daughters, Joyce Bond of Fort Drum, Helen Anne (Edward) Boree of Okeechobee, Janet (George) Hanuschak of Cumberland, R.I.; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m., at the Okeechobee Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Lindell Selvey, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Karen Dianne Rogers
Karen Dianne Rogers, age 57, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. She had been a resident of Okeechobee for 30 years and was a member of Word of Life Fellowship Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Gary Jasek of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kevin Rogers and Kendall Rogers, both of Okeechobee; four grandchildren; and one brother.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 10 until 11 a.m.
Funeral service will follow visitation at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Davis, Abundant Blessings Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Pauline F. Thicksten
Pauline F. Thicksten, age 97, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Thicksten was born Nov. 10, 1905, in Nuego, Mich., and had been a resident of Okeechobee for three years.
She was a member of the Advent Christian Church of Phophetstown, Ill. and worked for twenty years with Dixon Developmental Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Wilma; and grandson, Lynn.
Survivors include: two sons, Howard (Gathe) Thicksten of Rock Falls, Ill. and Harold (Marsha) Thicksten of Orange, Calif; three daughters, Marjorie (Lyle) Coats of Mt. Carroll, Ill.; Erma (James) Parks of Okeechobee and Janet (James) Berle of Dixon, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation and services will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, and are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, Ill.

Gladys Arlene Selph
Gladys Arlene Selph, age 70, of Buckhead Ridge, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at her residence. Born June 29, 1930, in Sebring. Mrs. Selph was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee and a homemaker by occupation.
Survivors include: husband, Walter Lee Selph of Buckhead Ridge; son, Randall Selph of Port St. Lucie; three daughters, Judy Crose of Red Oak, Okla., Deborah Clay of Fort Pierce and Carol Ann Hall of Okeechobee; two brothers, Leo Lofton of Basinger and Ingram Lofton of Gainesville; two sisters, Gloria Kaye of Okeechobee and Valley Sparkman of Georgia; nine grandchildren; and, five great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 5, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
Funeral service will Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 11 p.m. at the Basinger Cemetery in Basinger.
Interment will follow at the Basinger Cemetery in Basinger.
Edward Hugh "Pat" Worley
Edward Hugh "Pat" Worley, age 76, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003.
Mr. Worley was the former owner of Abingdon Grading and Paving and has spent most of his winters in Okeechobee for the past 13 years. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by a sister, Artist Worley.
Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Carlette Ferguson Worley; two daughters, Brenda Wampler of Abingdon, Va. and Loretta Vance of Cleveland, Va; granddaughters, Lisa Minton, Christi Caywood, Jessica Wampler, Erica Wampler; grandson, P.J. Vance; great- grandchildren, Alyssa Minton, Kendall Minton, Dalton Gilbert, Cody McClure; sister, Rhoda Pippin; brothers, Glen Worley and Roscoe Worley; brother-in-law and special friend, Howard Garrett; and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in the Farris Funeral Chapel. Dr. Austin Cook and Rev. Charles Blevins officiated. Committal graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Highlands Fellowship Honor Color Guard. Casketbearers will be P.J. Vance, Ray Worley, Jack Worley, Kenneth Worley, Paul Worley and Fred Wilson. Honorary Casketbearers will be Dave O'Brien, Calvin Jones, Joe Andis, Bill Osborne, Harold Johnson, Ottie Thomas, Luther Johnson, E.H. "Nub" Bowers and his many special friends from Okeechobee. Lorena H. Spivey
Lorena H. Spivey, age 84, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Okeechobee.
Mrs. Spivey was born on Oct. 3, 1918, in Fort Pierce, the daughter of Cuyler and Amy Hillard. She came to Okeechobee from Ft. Pierce 78 years ago.
Mrs. Spivey was a homemaker and employed as City Clerk for Okeechobee for over 30 years. Mrs. Spivey was a member of Grace Brethren Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Rex Spivey; daughter, Earlaine (Bobby) Johns of Madison; daughter, Peggy Spivey of Tallahassee; granddaughter, Jennifer (David) Stokes; grandson, Jason (Jennelle) Johns; and great-grandchildren, Chad and Dustin Stokes and Cody and Kylee Johns.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 11 a.m., at the Bass Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Regnier of Grace Brethren Church officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Anderson
Patricia Ann Anderson, age 50, of Stuart, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, She had been a resident of Stuart for four years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Larry Holbrook and sister, Brenda Young.
Survivors include: one son, Michael Anderson, Jr. of Stuart; one daughter, Tonya R. Ankrom of Marengo, Ohio; two granddaughters, Brittany R. Ankrom of Marengo, Ohio and Cierra Anderson of West Palm Beach; one grandson, Zakery Anderson of West Palm Beach; parents, James and Betty Holbrook of Okeechobee; two sisters, Lena Frances of Lithopolis, Ohio and Dixie White of Columbus, Ohio; and one brother, Bobby Lytle of Dayton, Ohio.
There will be no visitation or services.

Raymond Grady Worth
Raymond Grady Worth, Age 72, of Everton, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Worth was born on July 3,1930, in Palm Beach. He previously lived in Okeechobee but was a resident of Marion County, Ark. for the last six years.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was in law enforcement.
Mr. Worley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Worth; and a daughter, Marilyn Posada.
Survivors include: two sons, Craig Worth of Helena, Ala. and Terry Worth of Western Grove, Ark; daughter, Nancy Greer of Albertville, Ala.; and seven grandchildren also survive him.
Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Maplewood Cemetery. Brother Doug Burris officiated the service.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Christeson Funeral Home.
Herbert Lee Shaffer, Sr.
Herbert Lee Shaffer, Sr., age 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at his residence in Okeechobee. Mr. Shaffer was born May 9, 1937 in Bristol, Va. He was a Milker on a Dairy farm.
He was preceded in his death by his wife, Eleanor Shaffer and daughter,Vickie Shaffer.
Survivors include: son, Herbert L. Shaffer, Jr. of Okeechobee, daughter, Carol Jolly of Okeechobee, three granddaughters three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial Service is Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John W. Keith, Pastor of Oakview Baptist Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.
