John Edgar Wilson, age 41, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001. Born Sept. 19, 1959, in Sebring. Mr. Wilson, a painter, was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee.
He was preceded in death by his parents Granville N. and Dorothy Yates Wilson.
Survivors include: three brothers, Kenneth Herry Wilson of Ohio, Patrick Wilson and Stormy Wilson both of Okeechobee; three sisters, Mary Howard of Kentucky, Jenell Powell of Okeechobee and Patricia Windham of New York; and, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Burney officiating.
Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made to the family to help pay for John's grace space.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Mary Lou Treadway
Mary Lou Treadway, age 68, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Treadway was born on Feb. 28, 1934, in Naticok, N.Y. Mrs. Treadway had been a resident of Okeechobee for 12 years.
Survivors include: her husband of 22 years, Adam Treadway of Okeechobee; four daughters, Lorie McQuillen and Terri DeRousse of St. Louis, Mo., Pepper Cash of California and Lisa; one sister, Helen Head of Pennsylvania; and one grandson, Dellon John Cash of California also survives her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, at 9 a.m., until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.
William P. 'Bill' McClure, Jr.
William P. 'Bill' McClure, Jr., 79, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Born March 7, 1923, in Lock Springs, Mo., Mr. McClure had been a Florida resident since 1966, and had lived in Okeechobee since 1980.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Missouri and was a member of the Shriners. Mr. McClure worked as a lock operator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Karl McClure and Earl McClure.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara McClure of Okeechobee; two sons, James W. McClure (Margriet) of Rowlett, Texas, and William P. McClure III (Glenda) of Port St. Lucie; one daughter, Sandra McClure of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepsons, George Kusber (Nancy) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Greg Kusber of Hallandale; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eva Black of Wichita, Kan.
Visitation was held at the Buxton Funeral Home on Jan. 21, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., in the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dr. John Keith, of the Oakview Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Charley Brock, Jr.
Charley Brock, Jr., 69, of Grove, Okla., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
Mr. Brock was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Crop Orchard, Ky., the son of Charley Brock, Sr., and Nora Wilmont Brock. He was a heavy equipment engineer by trade and a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove, Okla.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 34 years, Lillian Zalas Brock of Grove, Okla.; three stepsons, Vincent (Beverly) Deguc of Beaverton, Ore., David Deguc of South Bend, Ind., and Christopher (Ann) Deguc of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight step-grandchildren; one brother, Nathaniel (Judy) Brock of Somerset, Ky., and Okeechobee; and two sisters, Ann Frances Denney of Lancaster, Ky., and Bonnie (Lohris) Lee of Lawrenceburg, Ky.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Luis Antonio Gonzalez
Luis Antonio Gonzalez, 76, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 20, 1926, in Puerto Rico, Mr. Gonzalez had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1984.
He was preceded in death by his son, Luis Antonio Gonzalez, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Mayda of Okeechobee; one son, Javier of Okeechobee; six daughters, Maria Luisa of New York, Irma of Fort Lauderdale, Marilyn of Puerto Rico, Jannette of Chicago, Madelyn of Tampa and Jessica of Okeechobee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters - Alberto, Dora and Carmen, all of Puerto Rico.

John A. Mulberger
John A. Mulberger, 82, Freeman Street, New Smyrna Beach, former owner of Okeechobee Pipe and Fittings before his retirement, died Monday, Jan. 20, at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Mulberger, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Williamsport, Pa., and moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1995 from Okeechobee. He was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Christian Church and also worked as a security guard for Zow Security and Patrol, Daytona Beach, and World Security Services, New Smyrna.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Thelma B.; two sons, Daniel (Diane) Mulberger, Plantation, and Dennis (Tina) Mulberger, Daytona Beach; one brother, Richard Mulberger, Penn-Yan, N.Y.; two sisters, Beatrice Cohick and Dorothy Wheeland, both of Williamsport, Pa.; and one grandson, Mark Mulberger of Plantation.

John Carroll Lunsford
John Carroll Lunsford, age 88, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Lunsford was born on July 22, 1914, in Colquitt, Ga., and was a 30-year resident of Okeechobee. He was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church and the Okeechobee Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gene and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Amy Louise Lunsford; sons, John (Peggy) "Buddy," Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Larry (Barbara) of Jamaica, and Don Lunsford of Ft. Lauderdale; three daughters, Trina (Burl) Blosser of Okeechobee, Margaret (Edward) Thompson of Bainbridge, Ga., and Laverne (Bob) VanOrman of Zephyhills; step son, K.J. (Karin) Ammons; step daughters, Sharon Robertson and Mary Vickers, all of Okeechobee; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Juanita Gray of Fort Lauderdale, Hazel Brewer of Colquitt, Ga., and Bernice Ford of Fort Walton Beach.

Mary M. Newhouse
Mary M. Newhouse, age 64, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at her residence in Okeechobee. Mrs. Newhouse was born on Jan. 2, 1937 in Elba, Ala., and was a previous resident in Palm City.
She is preceded in her death by her husband: Henry Newhouse; Father: Mancel Mauldin; Mother: Laurel F. Mauldin and her daughter: Gail Sinigoi.
Survivors include: seven daughters; Sharon Barnes of Stuart ; Marie DeBarge of La.;Kay Henderson of Nashville, N.C.; Peggy Inskeep and Anne Klinsporn, both of Port St. Lucie; Tina Larson of Stuart ; and Vicki Ward of Melbourne, five sons: H. Norris Newhouse of Okeechobee; Jody Newhouse of Port St. Lucie; Mark Newhouse of Pinesville, N.C.; Paul Newhouse of Chelsea, Mich.;Todd Newhouse of Palm Bay; 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 310 S.W. Sixth St. in Okeechobee.

James Mitchell Wells
James Mitchell Wells, age 82, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando.
Mr. Wells was born on May 1, 1920, in Morgan County, Ky., the son of Willie Bryce and Zada Day Wells. Mr. Wells was a retired truck driver for Ashland Oil for 32 years. Mr. Wells was a Shriner with El Hasa Temple Masonic Lodge No. 655 and a veteran from World War II. Mr. Wells' church affiliation was the First Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by: his first wife, Peggy Wells; and grandson, Robert J. Crooks.
Survivors include: his wife, Frances (Frankie) Frazier Wells of Okeechobee; four daughters, Joan Wells of Morehead, Ky., June (Peer) Voss and Jill Wells, of Louisville, Ky., Lori (Tony) Kibler of Okeechobee; three stepsons, Rick Holbrook of Grayson, Ky., Greg Holbrook of Ashland, Ky. and Jerry Holbrook of Phoenixville, Pa.; step-daughter, Tamie Hale of Ashland, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bert Wells of Okeechobee also survives him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, from 4 until 8 p.m., at the Herald and Stuart Home For Funerals, Inc., in Mt. Sterling, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m., at the Herald and Stewart Home For Funerals, Mt. Sterling, Ky., with Reverend Sam Knox, officiating. Interment will be held in Hazel Green Cemetery, Hazel Green, Ky.

Madeline E. O'Connor
Madeline E. O'Connor, age 75, of Indiantown, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie in Stuart.
Mrs. O'Connor was born on July 28, 1927, in New Jersey, the daughter of Francis P. and Gladys (Campbell) Steng. Mrs. O'Connor was a homemaker by trade and she moved to Indiantown from Fort Lauderdale in 1988.
Survivors include: her husband, John O'Connor of Indiantown; son, James O'Connor of Avon Park; and daughter, Jacqueline O'Connor of Indiantown also survives her.
There will be no visitation or services.
