Edith C. Westberry
Edith C. Westberry, age 79, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Okeechobee Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Westberry was born on June 18, 1923, in Summerville, Mass., and had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1965. She was a former switchboard operator at the Florida School For Boys. Mrs. Westberry was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles, VFW and American Legion. Her favorite past-time was playing bingo.
Survivors include: son, Dana Cirinna of Orlando; daughter, Carolyn Carden of Okeechobee; three granddaughters, Robin Edith Miller, Rhonda Lynn Bormuth and Melissa Ann Crews; four great-grandchildren, Cirinna, Anthony, Cheyanne and J.T.; and one great-grandson, David, also survives her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 30, from 10 until 11 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow visitation on Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements have been under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ronald P. Knight
Ronald P. Knight, age 54, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Knight was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Sebring. Mr. Knight had been a lifetime resident of Okeechobee and was a graduate of Okeechobee High School, Class of 1966. He was a welder by trade and a member of the Pipefitter's Union. He was of the Baptist Faith and his favorite hobbies included hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances "Dink" Knight.
Survivors include: two daughters, Robin Trexler of West Palm Beach and Rhonda Waldron of Okeechobee; father, Edgar Knight of Okeechobee; and aunts, Betty Faye Conrad of Okeechobee, Freda Setzer of North Carolina, Greda Johnson of Lake Worth and Frances Scott of Fort Pierce.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 29, from noon to 2 p.m.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 2 p.m., with Reverend Joe Bishop, Pastor of Fountain of Life Church, officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Frank A. Brooks, Sr.
Frank A. Brooks, Sr., age 82, of Buckhead Ridge in Okeechobee, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.
Mr. Brooks was born on Oct. 16, 1919, in Muncie, Ind. He had been a resident of Buckhead Ridge since 1984. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Shrine Club Masonic Lodge in Muncie, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally Lou Brooks.
Survivors include: his wife of 31 years, Theresa J. Brooks of Okeechobee; son, Frankie Brooks, Jr. of Okeechobee; one granddaughter, Rebecca Torres of Texas; two great-granddaughters; and one brother, Clarence Brooks of Texas also survives him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held in Muncie, Ind., and interment will be in the Garden of Memories in Muncie, Ind.
All local arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services and interment are being directed by Meeks Mortuary in Muncie, Ind.

Eunice Lois Drawdy Thomas
Eunice Lois Drawdy Thomas, age 90, of Branford, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, in Branford, Florida.
Mrs. Thomas was born on Dec. 2, 1911, in Polk County, the daughter of Napeleon B. and Lenora (Allen) Drawdy. She was a resident of Okeechobee since 1916, until moving three years ago to Branford. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Mayo, Fla.; a former member of the Oakview Baptist Church, and was a homemaker by trade.
Preceded in death by her husband, Morise Thomas; her daughter, Patricia Godwin; and a great-great grandson, Dade Wayne Richard.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rowena Parkerson of Okeechobee and Dickie (John) Turner of Branford; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 24 great great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, from 2 p.m. until service time, at Oakview Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow on Monday, at 3 p.m., at Oakview Baptist Church, with Dr. John W. Keith officiating.
Memorials in memory of Eunice Thomas may be sent to Hospice of North Central Florida, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, Fla. 32606.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.

Frank A. Brooks, Sr.

Emma Lee Knight
Emma Lee Knight, age 84, of Okeechobee, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at her daughter's home in Indiantown.
Mrs. Knight was born on Dec. 8, 1917.
Preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph W. Knight; her son, Norris Nix; and brother, Ted Underhill.
Survivors include: her children, Betty (Lawrence) Sweatt of Okeechobee, Martha (Royce) Upthegrove of Fort Meade and Theresa (Harold) Douglas of Indiantown; brother, Phillip Underhill of Cross City; two sisters, Loy Doke and Mary Lightsey, both of Okeechobee; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grandchildren also survive her.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, with Pastor Bruce Butler of Family Worship Center of Indiantown, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie, 772-287-7860; or Angelo Masi Ministries, 1307 S. Parrott Ave., Lot 25, Okeechobee, Fla. 34974, in memory of Emma Lee Knight.

Edith May
Edith May, age 74, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at Hospice of the Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce.
Miss May was born on Aug. 13, 1928, in Fort Denaud, Florida, the daughter of Rossie and Ivy (Kirkland) May. Miss May was a lifetime resident of Okeechobee and was a secretary for the state of Florida and worked for the Florida Games and Freshwater Commission. She was a member of the Believer's Fellowship Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Florine Rhymes of Okeechobee and Lois Harvey of Kenansville; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; also surviving her is good friend Hazel Herbert of Okeechobee.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until service time at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 11 a.m., at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Nick Hopkins officiating. Interment to be held in Fort Denaud Cemetery, Labelle.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.

Elsie Elizabeth Crane
Elsie Elizabeth Crane, age 84, of Lakeport, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Crane was born on July 30, 1918, in Labelle, the daughter of Roy and Anna (Andrews) Roberson. She was a homemaker by trade and a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Lakeport.
Survivors include: six sons, Tom Godwin of Okeechobee, Earl Godwin of Burlington, N.C., Junior Godwin of Lake Placid, A.P. Godwin of Fort Lauderdale, Frankie Godwin of Titusville, and James Crane of Indiana; five daughters, Martha J. Hunter of Lakeport, Ora Lee Bennett of Ashburn, Ga., Patricia Sepeda of Okeechobee, Mary Faison of Okeechobee, and Rose Ann McGee of Goldsboro, N.C.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m., at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Lakeport with Reverend Coba J. Beasley officiating.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.

Albert Crabtree
Albert Crabtree, age 65, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Crabtree was born on Nov. 3, 1936, in Arkansas, son of Harry and Lillie (Dixon) Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree was an auto mechanic by trade and a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Crabtree.
Survivors include: his loving soul mate of 14 years, Beaula Steele of Okeechobee; three daughters, Ruby Ann (Ricky) Moore, Kathey Lyn (Lonnie A.) Siler and Naomi Ruth (Todd) Pearce, all of Okeechobee; one son, Richard (Peggy) Blackwood of West Palm Beach; four sisters, Alta Mae, Susie, Ruth and Valerie, all of Arkansas; two brothers, David Crabtree of Okeechobee and Jimmy Crabtree of Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Justin DeWayne Wilson, Destiny Leann Moore, Erica and Adam Siler, Megan Moore, Christopher and Brady Pearce, R.J. and Jason Blackwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends survive him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m., graveside, in Basinger Cemetery, with Ashland Cook officiating.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.

Cornelia Lorraine Mulder
Cornelia Lorraine Mulder, age 80, of Okeechobee, died on Sept. 14, 2002, at Raulerson hospital.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1921, in Muskegon, Mich., the daughter of Ryan and Clara (Davies) Mulder.
She came to Okeechobee from Muskegon, Mich. 22 years ago. She was an office clerk for an insurance company and served in the United States Army WAC (Women Auxiliary Corp).
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Lucille Kooi; Anna Moodt; Catherine Mengilino; and one brother, William R. Mulder.
Survivors include: her sister, Jean Ehn of Okeechobee; nephew, Carl (Shelia) Hall of Okeechobee; nieces, Carmen (Edward) Kurdziel of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Cathy (Richard) Alvezo of Chicago, Ill.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.

Patricia Kay Bass-Woody
Patricia Kay Bass-Woody, age 43, of Wellington, died on Sept. 14, 2002, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1958, in Stuart, the daughter of Clark and Dee-Cee (Douglas) Bass.
She was a homemaker by trade. She spent her life nurturing us all. She graduated from John I. Leonard High School in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: her beloved husband, John Woody Jr. of Wellington; her cherished sister, Darrell C. Bass of Wellington; and numerous family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. graveside at Memory Gardens, 10th Ave. and Kirk Road in Lake Worth.

Betty Roberts Hennon
Betty Roberts Hennon, age 71, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at Columbia Raulerson Hospital.
Born Dec. 26, 1930 in Lake City, Florida, Mrs. Hennon had been a resident of Okeechobee for 42 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Basinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew A. Hennon.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Lee Hennon; two daughters, Christina Huff and Carole Ann Hennon, all of Okeechobee; ten grandchildren; and, one brother, Drexel Roberts (Ann) of Gainesville.
Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Interment will be in Lake City.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Vivian Justice
Vivian Justice, age 77, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Fort Pierce.
Ms. Justice was born in Rome, Ga. She came to Okeechobee from Boynton Beach and has lived here for 26 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Hathcock of Fort Pierce, and Sharon Cotton of Okeechobee; two sisters, Dorothy Word of Deltona, and Betty Bratt of Arley, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren also survive her.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 2:30 p.m., at the Buckhead Ridge Christian Church.
Donations may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, P.O. Box 1748, Ft. Pierce Fla. 34954.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home, Inc., Ft. Pierce.
