Brenda Jean Swafford
Swafford, Brenda Jean, 43, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at her home in Zephyrhills. She was born October 2, 1963 in Biloxi, MI. She moved to Zephyrhills 15 years ago from Tampa and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband: Dennis Swafford, Zephyrhills, FL; 2 sons: James Eric Swafford, Germany, Patrick Franklin Swafford, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 daughter: Emma Jean Rodell, Princeton, KY; her mother: Patricia Jarvis, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 sister: Sharon E. Hunley, Zephyrhills, FL; 4 brothers: James C. Leary Jr., Northglenn, CO, Alen Jarvis, Wayne Jarvis, Randy Jarvis, all of New Hampshire; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: Roderick. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.

Adelida Rose "Bitta" Valdivia
Valdivia, Adelida Rose "Bitta", 67, of San Antonio, died Monday, March 5, 2007 at home. A native of Sterling, Illinois, she was a beloved mother and grandmother, who loved to travel with family and friends and was of the Catholic faith. She moved to this area in 1999 and loved to take her grandchildren for walks and attend their sports activities. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include two daughters, Corinne Vasquez of San Antonio and Eve Moser of Dade City; three sons, Lt. Colonel Michael Nerstheimer, presently stationed in the Netherlands, Vernie Nerstheimer of Overland Park, Kansas, and Kevin Nerstheimer of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; seven brothers, Steve Valdivia, Salvador Valdivia, Rocky Valdivia, Neno Valdiva, Sam Valdivia, Harvey Valdivia, and Joe Valdivia; and 16 grandchildren, Bobby Shea, Michael Joseph, Benjamin, Aaron, Trevor, Justin, Samina, Christian, Adeline, Jovan, Christopher, Maya, Ava, Gabrielle, Jacob, and Charles Michael. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Lettieri in 1998, and by a sister, Avelina Alamanza. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Henry Riffle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial services will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

Alaine Bryker
Bryker, Alaine, 82, of Dade City, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Heritage Park Nursing Care Center. She moved to this area in 1997 from Tierre Verde. She was a lover of the arts and walked everyday for four decades. Survivors include a son, Elliot Tepper and his wife, Mary of Madrid, Spain; a daughter, Judge Lynn Tepper of Dade City; and three grandsons, David Tepper of Madrid, Jonahan Tepper of London, England, and Lt. Peter Tepper of Fort Drum, NY. Funeral services are private.

Richard Endress
Endress, Richard, 86, of Ridge Manor, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Royal Oak Nursing Center in Dade City. A native of Hamburg, New York, he was a long lime resident of this area. For 25 years he was the supervisor of Science for the Pasco County School Board and retired in 1985. His love of teaching even brought him back to the classroom to teach Math after his retirement. He and his wife of 61 years, Martha, loved to travel and he was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a member of the Ridge Manor Community United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Martha; two sons, William Endress and his wife, Diane of Tucson, Arizona and James Endress and his wife JoAnne of Dade City; a daughter, Kathy Graves and her husband, Robert of Williamsburg, VA; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Ridge Manor Community United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Debbie Nelson officiating.

Welsey Fred Peckham
Peckham, Wesley Fred 80, of Zephyrhills and formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007. He was born June 26, 1926 in Lowell, Michigan, where he grew up. He served in the Navy and Air Force and was a World War II Veteran He is survived by two sons, a daughter, two grandsons and three granddaughters.

Leona Walker
Walker, Leona, 86, of Tampa, died 1/16/08. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn; 4 grandchildren, John, Karen, Connie & Rachel; and 4 great grandchildren, Weston, Hannah, Kaleb & Gabriel.

Randy Jay Orton
Randy Jay Orton of Dade City passed away January 7, 2008 at his home. He was born June 23, 1953 in Union City, PA to Henry and Marceline Orton. He attended Corry area Junior and Senior High School. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Dade City and was a long term resident of Dade City. He was predeceased by his father, Henry. Survivors include his mother, Marceline Orton; sister, Judy Raffone; brother, Terry Orton; Aunt,
Opal Orton; nephew, Larry Orton; cousins, Robert, Vonnie and Daniel Orton along with many others Family members. Arrangements are entrusted to Hodges Family Funeral Home Dade City, FL.

Katherine A. Gay
Gay, Katherine A., 77, of Dade City, loving mother of five children, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 10:57 p.m. She was born in Coffee County, Alabama and was a life long resident of Dade City. She retired from Kraft Foods after 30 years and was a Homemaker in her last years. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Alan D. Gay, I "Buddy". Survivors include her children Shirley and Sam Baine of Lake Wales, Kathy Catrett of Dade City, Nancy and Earl Taylor of Dyer, TN and Adam Gay of Polk City; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was an inspiration to her children and their families and will be sorely missed. We love you Mama, Always & Forever. A Memorial service will be held in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randall Belcher officiating.

Betty J. Clark
Clark, Betty J., 76, Zephyrhills, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008. She was born April 19, 1931 in Mino, SD, the daughter of Julius and Sarah Schultz. She has lived in Zephyrhills the last 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harley W. Clark; her children: Arnie (Virginia) Clark, Karlsdad, MN, Doug Clark, Karlsdad, MN, Delphine Rodger, Green Cove Srpings, FL, Faye (Roger) Klemetson, Badger, MN and Janelle (Mark) Brozzetti, Riverview, FL; sister, Virginia Hatelstad, Adams, ND; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 am Friday, Jan. 18 at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City. Hodges Family Funeral Home.

James E. Mitchell, II
Mitchell II, James E., 76, of Zephyrhills, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in Dade City. He was born June 26, 1931 in Buffalo, NY and worked at Vitality Food Services in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Ida Jane Mitchell, Zephyrhills; five children: Brenda & Barney Ruehl, Valrico, James & Cile Mitchell Jr., Dade City, Diane & Barry Schultz, Dade City, Bea Mitchell, Lake Butler, Nora & Bill Jeffries of Zephyrhills; and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date.
