MOORE, Josephine "Jo," 88, passed Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Country Charm Residential Home in Waterford, Vt., where she had made her home for the past 16 months. Josephine was born in Castleton, Vt., June 8, 1919, to Andrew and Carmella (Fusco) Graziano. She attended Mount St. Joseph Academy in Rutland, Vt., and Albany Business College in New York. On July 8, 1944, she married Dr. John F. Moore of Fair Haven, Vt. They resided in
St. Johnsbury, Vt., for approximately 25 years until John joined the medical staff at the VA hospital in Togus,Maine. In 1985, after John' s retirement, they moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. They were married 55 years when John predeceased her in August 1999. Josephine is survived by four daughters, Nancy Wesley of Pompano Beach, Fla., Joan Lint (Ted) of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Margaret Lusker (David) of Winter Garden, Fla., and Susan Moore of San Jose, Calif.; and one son, Dr. John Moore Jr. of St. Peter, Barbados. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heidi Campagne, Fritz Reininger, Kristina Garlin and Scott Olsen; two great-grandchildren, Alex Orr and Brayden Olsen; and one sister, Mary Ryan of Rutland. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. A memorial Mass will take place at noon Thursday, January 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zephyrhills. Inurnment services will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
Sophie M. Novak
Novak, Sophie M., 86 of BetMar, Zephyrhills, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. She was born July 25, 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Martin and Frances Krystoff. She has lived in Zephyrhills the last 8 years. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Walter Novak; her children: Frances (Mike) Fellows, Australia, Barbara (Richard) Agien, Virginia and Tina (Brian) Hill, Michigan; her sister, Theresa De Sabatine, Michigan and brother, Harry Krystoff, California; 7 grandchildren. Services will be 11 am Thursday, Jan. 17 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
Charles L. Bolender
Bolender, Charles L., 80, was united with the Lord, Jan. 10, 2008. He was a fifty year resident of Ft. Lauderdale, and more recently of Dade City, FL and John Knox Village of Pompano Beach, FL. “Karl” is survived by his loving wife Doris of nearly sixty three years, three married sons, Tom & Linda, Jeff & Lucia, Beaver & Tracy; and one daughter, Becky & John. He is also survived by a sister, Ann Sabia. Karl also enjoyed eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Additionally, he held in highest esteem, many extended family members. As a boy he attended Riverside Military Academy. As a young athlete he attended Clemson University, and as a young man attended Villanova University. Karl also proudly served in the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean Campaign. Forty years ago he was co-founder of Coral Ridge Little League in Ft. Lauderdale, and served as a board member for many years beyond his coaching duties. He also served on an active board representing Boy Scouts of America. After vacationing in Colorado, he became interested in Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, eventually helping to establish chapters of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in several Ft. Lauderdale high schools. His interest in horses also grew, and for the past ten years he enjoyed his own ranch in Dade City. Karl’s propensity for things of God prompted him to give, to everyone he met, a tiny gold lapel angel. Many in the Dade City area will remember him and his little angels. His love of life, love of family and friends was admired by all who knew him. Above all, his love of the Lord was the driving force in his life. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. The family will receive friends at Hodges Family Funeral Home 14046 5th Street, Dade City, Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 5-7pm. A funeral will take place at 10:30am, Friday at Sacred Heart Church in St. Joe, FL with interment in Florida National Cemetery in nearby Bushnell. Robert L. "Bob" Maggard
Maggard, Robert L. "Bob", 76, of Ocala, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. He moved to this area in 1979 from his native Virginia. He was the owner of Independent Rock Haulers, Inc. operating in Marion County. An avid classic car enthusiast, he owned numerous cars from this era. Survivors include his wife if 18 years, Janice; three children, Gail Parker, Jerry McConnell, and Ronald Maggard; two step-children, Roy McKendree of Bellview and Darby McKendree of Dade City; 8 grandchildren, Kristie, Kelly, Rhonda, Jason, Ginger, Carrie, Christopher and Ben; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Jennie Peloquin. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Todd, Mona “Kay”, 61, of Tampa, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa. She was born January 30, 1946 in Tampa and worked with Quality Control at Bausch & Lomb. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by two children: Samantha Todd and Brandon Todd; 3 sisters: Jimi Sue Kaiser, Judy Brantley, Barbara Stephens; 1 brother: David Brantley; and 4 grandchildren: Brandon, Justin, Kaitlyn, and Baylee.
Jim Gazella
Gazella, Jim, 52 of DuQuoin, IL, passed away suddenly at work, Jan. 8, 2008. He was born July 8, 1955 in Ionia, Michigan the son of James, Sr. and Jean Emily Gazella. He was a sales representative for Fare Foods. He is survived by his son, Luke Gazella, Grand Rapids, MI; his siblings, Richard (Lisa) Gazella, Carson City, MI, Susan Gazella, Stewart, FL, Jeannine Gazella, Zephyrhills, Gerard (Lori) Gazella, Chesterfield, MI; Michelle (Bruce) Goddart, Carroll, OH; many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by his friends and many customers in the Tampa area. Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, Jan. 12 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills, FL. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Independent Showman’s Club, Scholarship Fund, Gibsonton.
Willie M. Harrelson
Harrelson, Willie M., 80, of Dade City passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Dade City, under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born November 19, 1927 in McKinzey, AL, to Lee & Rose Bell Merritt Harrelson and moved to Dade City 49 years ago from Zephyrhills. He retired from Lykes Pasco Packing Co. after 41 years. He is survived by four sons: Ronald & Sherrie Harrelson, Dade City, Donnie & Linda Harrelson, Zephyrhills, Ricky Harrelson & Wayne Harrelson, both of Dade City; two sisters: Annie Bell McAdams and Ora Lee Compton, both of Zephyrhills; seven grandchildren: Jimbo & Brandi Harrelson, Julie & Lorenzo Limoges, Ashley, Shelley, Brittany, Landry and Gavin Harrelson; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3pm Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Ruby G. Jefferson
Jefferson, Ruby G., 91, of Zephyrhills, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Zephyr Haven Nursing Care Center. She moved to this area in 1939 from her native Petersburg, Virginia. She was a homemaker and was Protestant by faith. Survivors include three children, Betty (Harris) Joiner of Fayetteville, GA, Anne (Roy) Wentworth of Zephyrhills and Nelson (Paula) Jefferson of Dade City; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 with Rev. Randall Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Virgie Boggs
Boggs, Virgie, age 86, a loving aunt of several nieces and nephews passed away January 10th, 2008 at Westbrooke Manor Nursing Home, Zephyrhills Florida. Virgie was born August 7, 1921 in Reedy, West Virginia, graduated from Spencer High School in 1940 and then moved to Avon, Ohio. After working 33 years for the Bendix Corporation, she retired, and moved to Zephyrhills, Florida in 1976. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Verna Boggs, brothers Garcie and Garnett Boggs and sisters Orpha Snyder, Anna Williams, Orlie Atkinson and Thelma Boyle. Virgie is survived by many nieces and nephews that hold many wonderful memories of an ordinary day full of laughs and fun made special by Virgie's quick wit and smile. She will be missed. The family wants to thank the employees of Westbrooke Manor Nursing Home for their love and care of Virgie during her stay. Thank you and God bless you!
