Dorothy Klak, 85, of Zephyrhills passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Zephyrhills Health & Rehab Center. She was born December 21, 1922 in Racing, Wisconsin to John and Alvina Kirsch. She was a Sourcing Supervisor in the Healthcare industry for 25 years. Survivors include her husband, Frank Klak; 2 sisters, Shirley McCracken and Irene Nagy; Step children, Ann, Dorothy, Barbara, Jim and Frances. A graveside service will be 1 PM Friday, April 11th at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Anthony William “Little Man” Moats
Moats, Anthony William “Little Man”, 34, Lacoochee, died as a result of an auto accident on Sunday, April 6, 2008 near Bushnell. He was born December 10, 1973 in Dade City to Anthony Johnny Moats and Marline Dees Moats. He loved to go fishing, hunting with his father, watching TV including football, car racing and other sports programs. He opened his own live bait and tackle shop. He had worked for Davey Tree Company, building bridges, and currently working as an electrician in North Florida. He is survived by his parents, Anthony Johnny and Marline Dees Moats, his sisters, Lisa Ann Moats and Christine Lucile Moats; his nephews and nieces: Bianca Garvison, Heather Garvison, Larry Garvison, Jr. and Zachary Payne, all of Lacoochee; many other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City with burial at Lacoochee Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Barbara E. Schlechty Evans
Evans, Barbara E. Schlechty, 89, of Zephyrhills, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Edwinola, Dade City. She was born May 14, 1918 in Cowden, OK to William and Chleo Colwell. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Everett E. Schlechty in 1986 and George Evans in 2007; son, Donald Ray Schlechty, daughter, Mary Lou Martin, and a grandson, Michael Schlechty. She is survived by her children: Vernon (Susan) Schlechty, Land o’Lakes and Ruth E. (Henry) DelCastillo, Colleyville, TX; a sister, Lennis (Tom) Guigni, CA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Graveside services will 2:30 Friday, April 11 at Garden of Memories, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Thomas E. Ackling
Ackling, Thomas E., 70, Zephyrhills, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Tom retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Systems. He is survived by his wife, Annette M. Ackling and his children: Lisa Ryan, Teresa Conklin, Ernest Ackling, Thomas Ackling, Jr., Jennifer Ackling, Brett Ackling and Sarah Ackling; and seventeen grandchildren. Visitation will be 11-12 Saturday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills with a service at 12 noon.
Harold H. Glover
Harold H. Glover 74, of Brandon passed away April 6, 2008 at Tampa General Hospital. He was born May 13, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to Harold and Isabel Glover. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Boeing Vertol as a Composite Fabricator. He was united in marriage to Dolores in Philadelphia, PA who predeceased him in 1976. Survivors include 2 sons, Harold (Candace ) Glover III and Steven Glover; four grandchildren, Sonny Glover, Shane Hewitt, Jennifer Northwood and Dayna Glover; a great grand child, Jackson Hewitt; a sister, Julia Hall all of Philadelphia, PA and a nephew, Michael Hall.. A Private Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301 Dade City, Fl 33525. The Family will be accepting flowers at the Funeral Home.
Alfred J. "Joe" Ivie
Ivie, Alfred J., “Joe”, 93, of Dade City, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born in Alabama on June 28, 1914 and moved to Atlanta as a young child. In 1939 he moved to Jacksonville, and served in the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Dade City in 2002. He was a member of the F&A Masons in Jacksonville since 1942, and was Past Master of Riverside Lodge #266. He was a hard working, loving and caring man and has been described as all the best humanity has to offer. Survivors include two sons, A.J. Ivie, Jr. and his wife Janet, of Dade City and Glenn A. Ivie and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville; two daughters, Mary Perry Roussel of Lakeland and Emily Hill of Seattle; a sister, Mary Dell Sutton of Coral Springs, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ester Ivie, and his second wife, Lorene Ivie in 1997. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 12:30p.m.at the First Presbyterian Church in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice.
Wayne R. Druda
Druda, Wayne R., 58, of Dade City, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at home. A native of New Jersey, he moved to this area in 1993. He was a retired Executive Assistant in Retail Sales. He was Jehovah’s Witnesses and an active member of the Dade City North Congregation. Survivors include his father, Dante Druda of Dunnellon; his mother, Pearl Druda of New Port Richey; and a sister, Joyce Patterson and her husband, Jim of Dunnellon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Druda. Memorial Services will be held in the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Dade City at 3pm on Saturday, April 12, 2008.
Ruby L. Butler
Ruby L. Butler, 69 of Dade City went to join her Daughter Linda in heaven on Sunday, March 30,2008 under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. She was a beloved Mama, Nanny, Sister and Friend. Ruby was preceded in death by her father and mother Felton and Maude Hill. Her daughter Linda Smith and brother in law Ennis Kennedy, nephews Jimmy Hill and David Kennedy. Ruby was born September 06,1938 in Zephyrhills, FL. Where she grew up attending and graduating from Zephryhills High School. She was employed at Bealls Department Store for over 20 years always taking great pride and joy in her work. One of her favorite past times was playing the slot machines at Seminole Casino with her daughter Pam.She was a devoted and dearly loving mother to her surviving children her daughter Pamela Tait and son George "Buddy" Butler Jr both of Dade City. Proud and loving Nanny to Jennifer Robinson, Jeremy Tait, Eric Smith and Jesse Smith all of Dade City. Son in law Danny Smith also of Dade City. Two of her greatest joys in life were her two great grandsons Jakavus "Jay" Robinson and Logan Tait of Dade City. Loving sister to her brothers Odis Hill and wife Bunny of Dade City and Ira Hill and wife Cindy of Chilotte, North Carolina. Special sister to Mildred Kennedy of Zephyrhills. Ruby also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who all loved her. Special friends Steve, Dottie,Terri, Kat and life long friend Priss. Ruby will be remembered most for her sparkling blue eyes , her giggle, compassion toward all and her love of life. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Thursday April 3,2008 between the hours of 6:00- 8:00pm Hodges Funeral home S.301 Dade City. Funeral services will take place Friday April 04,2008 at 11:00am.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be given to the Hernando Pasco Hospice of Dade City. Delores Barton, “Tina”, 54, born and raised in Dade City, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Hospital. She is survived by her parents, Marie and Ray Henley of Live Oak, Fl; her loving companion, Jerry Cleveland of Dade City;4 children, Jean Hisler, Wyman Jackson, Richard Jackson and Johnny Adams; most loving to her heart her 7 grandchildren, Kayla ,Christopher, Devin, Cassidy, Skylar, Christian and Rebecca; 3 sisters, Gloria Riley of Tampa, Belinda Johnson of Live Oak, Fl and Hilda Jean Smith and many more family members who will miss her. “Mom may you rest in peace.
