Robert L. Bolen
Bolen, Robert L., 74, Dade City, Florida, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008. He was born August 12, 1933 in DeKalb, IL to John and Anna Bolen. He retired from General Motors after 32 years. Has wintered in Dade City for 12 years, and permanently moved 5 years ago. Member of Elks and Moose Lodges, Zephyrhills and Eagles Lodge, Dade City. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patty Bolen; his children: Bonnie (the late Wes) Rindfleisch, Dade City; Douglas Emery, Las Vegas, NV and Cindy (Bob) Sweet, Lansing, MI; his siblings, Marianna (Bob) Wells, Rock Island, IL and John (Thelma) Bolen, CA; and his two grandchildren: Ian Robert and Amanda Grace. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City. Graveside will be 11 am Thursday at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Robert E. Dew
Dew, Robert E. 65, of Bradenton, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at home. A Dade City native, he moved to Bradenton in 2003. He was a retired Math Teacher in St. Petersburg and had previously lived in Georgia. A UF Graduate, he was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the US Army. Survivors include a son, Greg Dew, and his wife, Kimberly of New Port Richey; a daughter, Laura Kaplan, MD and her husband, Michael of Houston, TX; five siblings, David Dew and his wife, Lynn of St. Louis, Jim Dew, PhD, and his wife Vivian, PhD of Santa Barbara, CA, Wilbur Dew, and his wife, Patsy of Dade City, John Dew and his wife, Bernice of Tampa and Virginia Dew Blake and her husband, Norman, PhD of Dade City; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Joy Dew Russell, Max Dew and George Dew. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27, 2008 with Rev. Kevin Morris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Florida Pioneer Museum.

Tracy L. Tillis
Tillis, Tracy L., 22, Dade City passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born February 16, 1986 in Zephyrhills to Charles Tillis and Melanie Schofield. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jean Morrison and sister, Cynthia Lee. She is survived by her children: Savannah (3) and Zachary (4) Allison; her boyfriend, Keith Allison; father, Charles Tillis; mother, Melanie Schofield; siblings: Sophia Jones, Mindy Tillis and Marcus Tillis; grandparents: Eddie Schofield and Nancy Harvey, Corine and Jimmy Blunt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. “She was the best and loving mother”. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Monday at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City. The service will be 10 am Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Floral Memory Gardens, Dade City.

William Evert Saylers
Salyers, William Evert, 73, Zephyrhills, passed away March 21, 2008. He was born August 21, 1934 in Louisa, KY. He is survived by his loving family including his wife Patricia, son Bill, daughters, Brenda, Terry and Tammy.

Leta Carr Coats
Coats, Leta Carr, 78, of Kathleen, passed away March 15, 2008. She was a long time resident of Kathleen, Fla and retired as a lunch room employee of Kathleen Junior High School after 27 years of service. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Coats, parents Will and Verlie Carr, and sister Evelyn Langenhorst. Survivors include her three daughters, Gayle Miller of Trenton, GA, Deanna Williams and Rona Kirby, both of Leesburg; two sisters, Doretha Herring of Kathleen and Hilda Ferguson of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Dade City Cemetery with Ronald Ray officiating.

Daniel B. O'Dea
O’Dea, Daniel B., 75, of Zephyrhills, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born January 31, 1933 in Astoria, NY, to Edmond & Mary Hester O’Dea and moved to this area 4 years ago from Long Island, NY. He was retired from the Public School System in New York, attended the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, and was a friend of Bill Wilson for 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Constance C. O’Dea, Zephyrhills, FL, one son: Joseph Trimpin, Zephyrhills, FL, one daughter: Kerriann Chiorando, Long Island, NY, his sister: Mary Larson, Long Island, NY, his brother: Edmond & (Bea) O’Dea, two grandsons: Jesse and Dakota, several nieces, nephews, and many other close family members. Memorial services will be held 2pm Friday, April 4, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to His Store House Thrift Center, 35362 State Route 54, Zephyrhills, Florida 33541.

Virginia Ann Arduengo Duff
Duff, Virginia Ann Arduengo, 78, of Dade City, FL passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Dade City. Virginia was born in Tampa to Anthony Joseph and Virginia Haskins Arduengo. She was the great great granddaughter of Levi and Nancy Dixon Collar, one of Tampa’s pioneer families. She attended Sacred Heart Academy. She married Arthur M. Duff on March 25, 1948. They lived and raised their family in Dade City. Art and Virginia were married for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tony and Virginia, and her brother: Eugene Thomas Arduengo. She is survived by her husband: Arthur M. Duff of Dade City; her sons: Arthur J. Duff and his wife Cheryl of Battleground, WA, Daniel e. Duff and his wife Katherine of Lake City, FL, her daughter Teresa Duff Dillon and her husband John of Dade City, FL, her brother: Anthony J. Arduengo of Georgia; and grandchildren: John P. Dillon II, Joshua C. Dillon and his wife Kimberly, Keely Duff, Alex Duff, and Miranda Duff. There will be no wake or funeral services. In remembrance of Virginia, she requested donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9499.

Loretta Shive Peterson
Peterson, Loretta Shive, 72, of Dade City, passed away the afternoon of Monday, March 17, 2008 at Hospice. She retired in 1995 from the Pasco County Government. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Local Chapter and the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Peterson, Sr.; she is survived by three sons Ralph Peterson, Jr., Donald Philip Shive and James Donald Shive of Dade City; a daughter, Donna Shive Gulvin of Dade City; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife and mother and the world’s greatest Nana. To know Nana was to love her. All who ever had the opportunity to cross her path will miss her. We have been blessed with her love and memories forever. She will never be forgotten, only missed. We love you Mom, Nana. Thank you for sharing your life and love with us. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice. A Memorial service will be held Monday, March 24th at 11:00 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home 11441 US Hwy 301 Dade City Fl.

E. Day Wood
Wood, E. Day, 81, passed away March 16, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Day was born in Tampa, graduated from Hillsborough High School, served in the US Navy and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1952 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Day was an entrepreneur in the seafood industry and developed many processing procedures still in use today. His 40 career included involvement in many seafood organizations, The University Club and the Rotary Club of Ybor City. Day is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy, of 61 years; a Daughter, Martha Kempgens (Ted); a Son, E. Day Wood, III (Susan); and his grandchildren, Dayna Kempgens, Mickey Kempgens, Kaylen Wood and Eddie Wood. The family wishes to the express gratitude to Heritage Park Nursing Facility for the loving care and Hospice of Pasco ensuring comfort for Day and the family. Burial services will be private.

Raymond Eugene Taylor
Taylor, Raymond Eugene, 69 of Dade City and Bushnell passed away March 15, 2008 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. He was born August 31, 1938 in East Saint Louis, IL. He moved from Maryville, IL. where he was a switchman for the railroad and a member of the Terminal Railroad Association. He was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church, Collinsville, IL. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Brenda Jo; daughter, Terri Taylor Daniel (Bobby); son, Ray Taylor, Jr.(Lisa); grandchildren, Cristina Martinez, Matthew and Ryan Taylor; sister, Sue Sharp (Bill) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 9:45 am with a viewing 9 am at the Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 301 Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family request donations be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, East Pasco Care Center in Dade City or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
