Yates, Karen A. 61, Dade City, passed away suddenly, Saturday, March 15, 2008 of natural causes. She was born February 26, 1947 in Yonkers, NY to John and Elaine Simmons. She has lived in Dade City the last 7 years, being Co-Owner of The Coffee Mug, downtown Dade City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Yates. She is survived by her children: Christopher T. Yates and Allison (Brandon) Todd, both of Dade City; her siblings, Patti Simmons, Steve Simmons and Janice Lesbines; her grandchildren: Jessica Sells, Kaitlyn Little, Cameron Yates and Baylee Todd. Memorial Gathering will be 3 to 6 pm Thursday at The Coffee Mug for all her loyal customers and friends.

Elkins, Jean, 84, of John Knox Village , Tampa , passed away Friday, March 14, 2008.. She was born July 29, 1923 in New York City.. She moved to Zephyrhills in 1971 and to John Knox Village in 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Elkins. Survived by son, David Elkins, Eugene , OR , daughter, Janet Elkins, Roseburg , OR and daughter-in-law, Nancy Stafford, Tampa . Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday, March 18 at Oakside Cemetery , Zephyrhills. Hodges Family Funeral Home, 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills.
Raymond E. Taylor
Taylor, Raymond Eugene, 69 of Dade City and Bushnell passed away March 15, 2008 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. He was born August 31, 1938 in East Saint Louis, IL. He moved from Maryville, IL. where he was a switchman for the railroad and a member of the Terminal Railroad Association. He was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church, Collinsville, IL. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Brenda Jo; daughter, Terri Taylor Daniel (Bobby); son, Ray Taylor, Jr.(Lisa); grandchildren, Cristina Martinez, Matthew and Ryan Taylor; sister, Sue Sharp (Bill) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 9:45 am with a viewing 9 am at the Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 301 Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family request donations be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, East Pasco Care Center in Dade City or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Bartlett, Eunice M., 87, of Dade City, FL, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008 at her home. She was born April 26, 1920 in Coleman, MI, to Cecil & Ruth Culver Leonard. She was a homemaker and attended the Pasadena Baptist Church. She is survived by her son: Duane Bartlett, her daughter: Janice Marie Compo; one brother: Ovol Leonard; 17 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 3pm Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Pasadena Baptist Church.
Harold Collins
Collins, Harold, 82, of Dade City, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. A native of Lewisburg, PA, he moved to Ohio in 1951. He retired fro Rockwell International in Ashtabula, Ohio. A US Army Veteran, he served in the European Theatre and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Marlene; three children, Judith Potter of Zephyrhills, Harold Collins, Jr. of Madison, Ohio and Joyce Lynne Povhe of Cleveland; three step children, Valerie Leitch of Geneva, Ohio, William Dodge of Leavitsburg, Ohio and Marge Varrows of Paris TN; eight grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.

Pursley, Steven L. 40, Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born March 7, 1967 in New Haven, CT. He lived in CT until 2004 when he andhis family moved to Florida. He is preceded by his parents, Lewis and Shirley Pursley. He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Kimberly Pursley, children; Vincent, Samantha, Anthony and Steven, Jr.; sisters Donna Pursley & Sally (Daniel) Daigle; nephews; Colin, Ryan & Brett Daigle; other family members, Richard, Tina & Haily McTague, Jody & CJ Bellmore, Keith, Erica, Hunter & Kathleen Mansfield, Chad & Brian Mansfield and many more friends & family.

Jacobson, Wendy Jeane, 42, of Dade City, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at home. A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, she moved to this area in 1986 from Rockland, Mass. She was the owner of Bay to Bay Pools, servicing clients in the Tampa Bay area. Survivors include her loving husband, Eric; a step-daughter, Lisa Jacobson of Tampa; her mother, Dorothy of Palm Harbor; her father, George of Ocala; and four siblings, Peter Hill, Bruce Hill and Nancy Wilds, all of Massachusetts and Tom Hill of Georgia. A Memorial service will be held in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 with Rev. Randall Belcher officiating.

Whitworth, Mattie H., 86, of Zephyrhills passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years: Charlie Whitworth; three step-sons: Lonnie, Dorris, and Don Whitworth; three brothers: Rex, Glen, and Earl Hughes. She is survived by two daughters-in-law: Carol and Nancy Whitworth; one sister: Nellie Rowland, 13 nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Funeral services will be held 10am Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.
