Gaskin, Kristin Leigh, 17, of San Antonio, Fl passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born June 24, 1990 in Tampa to Charles and Rebecca Gaskin, Jr. She was a Senior at Wesley Chapel High School. She was a soccer player, and involved in journalism, school yearbook and school newspaper. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Dade City. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Rebecca Gaskin, Jr., her sister, Heather N. Gaskin; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Syble Gaskin, Sr., San Antonio; her maternal grandfather, Donald and Marsha Hall, Zephyrhills and maternal grandmother, Nancy and Beauford Register, Zephyrhills; Aunts and Uncles Vicki & Rick Rutter, Dade City; Teresa & Mike Harris, San Antonio; Todd & Candi Hall, Dade City; Ronnie & Juanita Hall, Evansville, Ind.; Cousins; DJ & Shelly Oliver, Dade City; Deanna & Steven Freeman, Dade City; Tiffany, Chelsea & Stoney Hall, Dade City; Matt, Casey & Reese Hall, Evansville, Ind.; Samantha & Hunter Crawley, San Antonio, Fl; Best of Friends; Beth and Carlos Hernandez and Kayla Green.; and a host of friends. Sister Mary Ann Carollo, O.S.B.
Carollo, O.S.B., Sister Mary Ann. Rejoice with us as we celebrate and give thanks for Sister Mary Ann Carollo, O.S.B. who entered into the fullness of life Monday, May 5, 2008. Sister Mary Ann grew up in Slidell, LA, where she received her grammar school and high school education. She was the daughter of Andrew and Antonina Carollo. She entered the Benedictine Sister of Florida on May 16, 1933; she made her temporary profession on December 29, 1934 and her perpetual monastic profession June 16, 1939. Sister did her undergraduate studies at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA where she received a B.S. degree in Education with a Minor in Music Education. She also did post graduate work at Mount St. Scholastica’s in Atchison, KS, St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, Dominican College in New Orleans, LA, Barry University in Miami, FL, and Belmont College in NC. Sister’s first teaching assignment was at Holy Name Academy and she also assisted at our boy’s prep school, St. Benedicts Preparatory School. Her teaching career took her to St. Anthony School in San Antonio, Trinity Academy in Ocala, St. Martha’s School in Sarasota, Holy Family School in Miami Beach, St. Joseph Public School in Saint Joseph, Annunciation School in Bogalusa, LA, Our Lady of Lourdes in Slidell, LA, and St. Margaret Mary’s in Slidell. Besides teaching in the classroom, Sister also taught piano, violin, trained choirs and played the organ. In the summer she spent a number of years at the Good Counsel Camp where the Sisters taught Religion to the boys and girls who attended the camp. Sister Mary Ann spent 65 years in the classroom. She had a great love for teaching and her students. After her retirement in 2000, she spent a Sabbatical at Mount Angel Oregon. When her Sabbatical was completed she went back to Slidell, LA to be care giver to her two aged Sisters. In 2005 the hurricane did so much damage in Slidell that Sister returned to the monastery. Her two sisters went to family in Alabama and after a year returned to their home in Slidell. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Antonina Carollo, five brothers: Russell, Charles, Peter, Victor, Frankie, and three sisters: Selena Fontana, Mary Siemssen, and Lucretia Carollo. She is survived by one sister, Louise Carollo, and many nieces and nephews. A Vigil service will be held 7:30pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Holy Name Monastery in St. Leo, FL. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:30am Friday, May 9, 2008 at Holy Name Monastery Chapel. Burial will be at St. Leo Abbey Cemetery. May the Good Shepherd welcome Sister Mary Ann and give her rest eternal. In lieu of flowers, family request donations in her memory to the Benedictine Sisters of Florida or the St. Anthony School.
Audlane “Ad” Marcella Berg Waterbury
Audlane “Ad” Marcella Berg Waterbury, 101, long time resident of Ridge Manor and formerly of Bedford, IN, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Heritage Park Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born September 21, 1906 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Fred and Agnus Berg. Ad Waterbury was educated at a Business College and was employed with Michigan State Farm Insurance Co. as executive secretary/ office manager. Some of her enjoyments were cooking sweets, golf, travel, gardening, church, music and her friends but, above all, she loved her Lord. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Ridge Manor and a long time Pianist at the church. Mrs. Waterbury was predeceased by her husband, Chauncey Waterbury, 1 brother, Milton Lester Berg and 1 sister, Viola Berg Barnard. She is survived by 1 brother, Kenneth Donald Berg, Sr. of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; special family member and mother of 6 of her nieces and nephews, Betty Berg. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Wednesday May 7th at First Baptist Church of Ridge Manor. Funeral Services will follow at 11AM with Rev. William Webb officiating. Sandra Hays Kirker
Kirker, Sandra Hayes, 50, of Trilacoochee, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at University Community Hospital. She was a Supervisor for the Sumter County Department of Corrections. Survivors include her husband, Colin; 6 children; her father, Freddie Hayes; and 9 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008 with Rev. Eldridge Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
SGT. Marcus C. Mathes
SGT. Marcus C. Mathes, 26, of Zephyrhills, FL, completed his final mission on earth April 28, 2008 when his Heavenly Commander gave him orders to return home. Marcus was a Florida native, who left to join the ARMY on March 15, 2005--his 23rd birthday. He [The Purple Heart Medal]was an 88M (truck driver) with F Company, 94th Battle Support Batallion, 10th Mountain Division and was deployed to Iraq with his unit in November of 2007. He was a dedicated soldier, respected by all that worked with him, who planned to make the ARMY his lifelong career. A multi-faceted personality, Marcus was the 'life of the party' who loved hanging out with his wife, vacationing with his parents, riding dirt bikes with his friends, playing with his neice and nephew and making others laugh. He is survived by his wife of six years, Julia Mathes, father Ralph Mathes, step-mother Joyce, mother Sue Sawyer, step-father Mike Sawyer, grandmother Dorothy Simpson, brothers Kyle Mathes and Zach Sawyer, step-brothers John and David Duff, parents-in-law Chuck and Lynda Ehrman, siblings-in-law Brett Ehrman and Bryan and Heather Harvey, and niece and nephew Elyse and Kayne Harvey. Funeral services are set for 12pm Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Calvary Assembly of God in Dade City. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8pm at the 301 chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.
Drew McNabb
McNabb, Drew, 61, of Wesley Chapel, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was born July 31, 1946 in Harrisburg, IL to Hugh and Jewell McNabb. He spent most of his life in banking. He was a Viet Nam Veteran. He loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandie McNabb; his sons, Cale McNabb and Kevin Tidwell; and many other extended family and friends. Services will be 10:30 am Monday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with military honors. Visitation will be 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cardoso, Mary, 80, Tampa, FL, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mike; two sons, Bobby (Margaret) Cardoso, Henry (Connie) Cardoso; daughter, Teresa (Ron) Collins; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. We will always love you. Graveside services 2 pm Monday, May 5 at Garden of Memories, Tampa. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kim Smith and Dr. Laura Cruse for their special care and concern.

Myers, Renee, 86, Zephyrhills, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008. She was born Oct., 23, 1921 in England to Leslie and Jessie Senior. She has lived here the last 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John E. Myers; 2 sons, John L. and Gene Wayne Myers, a daughter, Jacqui Myers; 4 grandchildren , 4 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Services will be private with inurnment at Florida National Cemetery.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Jimmy; 6 children; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 step children; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
