Hancock, Neal Hubert, 90, a 4th generation native and life long resident of Dade City, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at his home. Hubert was born May 10, 1918, the son of Joseph Henry Hancock and Ethel Sellers Hancock, both descendants of pioneer Pasco County settlers who settled in this area in the early 1800’s. He was a descendant of Captain Jack Townsend for whom the Townsend House Church and Cemetery were named. Hubert was a long time citrus grower, a Navy veteran of WW II, and attended the University of Florida. He was also an avid fisherman and his greatest pleasure was sharing this with others. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Emmy Lou Hancock, two sons, James William Hancock of West Palm Beach, Joseph Neal & Jane Hancock, grandsons Jimmy, Jackson and Jeb of Dade City, a daughter, Susan Sacks of Guffy CO, grandchildren Rachel, Phoebe and Jesse of Colorado, three step daughters, Donna & Don Wolf of Wesley Chapel, Celia A. Branan of Dade City, Laura L. Beagles and Norman Carey of Dade City, stepson Thomas W. Beagles of Waynesville, NC, grandson Adam Beagles of Hickory, NC, granddaughter Jill Kennedy of Odessa and many great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Dale Hancock and Thurman Harris Hancock, both of Dade City and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8pm at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10am Saturday at Townsend House Cemetery with Chaplain Dick Fisher officiating. Nephews will serve as pall bearers. Yolanda Zambito Hughes
Hughes, Yolanda Zambito, 56, of Zephyrhills, now walks with the Lord in peace after her courageous battle with a prolonged illness. She passed away June 2, 2008 in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her husband: Harold Hughes, her son: Jason Hughes, her mother: Vera Emmel, her sister: Yvonne Posey, two nieces: Sherri & David Head, Sebrina Posey; two great nieces: Lauren Head and Savannah Head. Serving as pallbearers will be John Brunken, David Head, Marvin Posey, and Neil Smith. The family would like to send a very special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Florida Hospital for their dedication, love and exceptional care they provided. Funeral services will be held 11:30am Friday, June 6, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
Pauline Sabatelli
Sabatelli, Pauline, 83, of Ridge Manor, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at her home. She was born November 5, 1924 in Harlan, KY to Jay Byron & Mary Cooper Smith. She moved to this area 53 years ago from Harlan. She worked for the Army & Navy Store for 35 years and attended St. Rita Catholic Church. She is survived by 5 children: Bart & Detanna Sabatelli, Robert Carr, Lucy & Cecil Southern, Pat & Sandra Sabatelli, Roy & Jane Carr; 1 brother: Hobert & Kitty Smith; 1 sister: Maudie Ellon Smith; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren including Erik Kyle, Serena Sabatelli, Lillian Nobels and Izaha Kyle. Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday, June 9, 2008 at Saint Rita Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in San Antonio. Viewing from 4-6pm Sunday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
William G. Munz
Munz, William G., 56, of Dade City, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. He was born June 29, 1951 in Coral Gables, FL to Charles & Maryanne Munz. He moved to this area 19 years ago from Beacon Woods and was the assistant county administrator for Pasco County. He is survived by his wife of 24 years: Barbara Munz; 3 children: Beth Munz, Dade City, Meg Munz, St. Petersburg, Matt Munz, Dade City; his mother: Maryanne Munz, Homestead; 1 brother: Pinky Munz, Homestead; and 1 sister: Annette Munz, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father: Charlie Munz. A memorial service will be held 4pm Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Dade City. A reception will follow at the Christian Life Center. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to either the American Cancer Society or the Pasco Regional Medical Center.
Francis "Frank" Saccone
SACCONE, FRANCIS (FRANK) , 80, of Zephyrhills passed away at home, Sunday, June 1, 2008 from complication of diabetes. Frank was predeceased by his parents, John Anthony and Clara L. Saccone; his brothers, Dominic, John Jr., and Leo, and his sister, Martha. Survivors include his beloved wife of 15 years, Velma Worthy Saccone; his children; favorite daughter, Sandra Moore and her husband, Michael of California; son, John Saccone and his wife, Cathy of Texas; son, Joseph Saccone and his wife, Tammy of Ohio and their mother Angela Saccone of Ohio. Other survivors include sons, Steve Worthy and his wife, Jacqueline of Florida and Brenton Worthy of California. His ten grandchildren include Ryan, Matthew, and Michael Saccone of Texas, Thomas and Tyler Saccone of Ohio; Lindsey and Vanessa Worthy of Indiana; Natalee Worthy of California; and Allyson and Benjamin Worthy of Florida. Other survivors are his special niece, Sherry Newgent and her husband Garry of Florida; several other nieces, nephews and cousins; and his much loved Chihuahuas, Frankie and Mistee. Frank was much loved by his family and friends and will be missed forever. Frank is a WWII Veteran, honorably retired from the Navy in 1965 after 20 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, Frank managed County Clubs in Pennsylvania and Florida and retired as Manager of Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club in 1981. He is a member of the American Legion, VFW, Fleet Reserve Association, and a lifetime member of MilWit, a group of retired military RV travelers from all over the country. Frank was an avid golfer and played frequently with his favorite companions, Ron Corbeille, Jimmy Maso, Jim Kozelsky, Robin Danser, Leon Ballas, Bud Wilmath, John Mendillo, Emilo Rodrequez, Tony Nortarangelo, and Dick Warner; who will miss his presence on the golf course. Many thanks to the ladies (and their husbands) of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Rho Chi Chapter, who installed the wheelchair ramp for Frank’s use at home. Also the help received from Chapel Home Health and Hernando-Pasco Hospice is sincerely appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program-F, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1905; or to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667; or to a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated. Joan Charlick
CHARLICK, JOAN, 79 of Zephyrhills, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Zephyr Haven Health and Rehab Center. A native of Michigan, she was a winter resident of Zephyrhills since 1986. She was a homemaker and attended Crossroads Church in Dade City. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Don; five children, Dan Carl, Jim Carl, Jerry Carl, Bonnie Davis, Don Charlick and one stepchild, Linda Dillon; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home with Pastor Sims officiating.
Richard N. Lucier
Richard N. Lucier, 74 of Zephyrhills, Fl passed away May 31st under the care of the Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City, Fl. He was born May 13, 1934 to Norman (Sam) and Hattie Lucier. Richard was a veteran of the U.S.N. and a member of the BPOE for over thirty years. Before moving to Florida in 1978, Richard was employed by R. B. Green Trucking for several years. Richard was a member of Eaglewood Golf and Country Club of Hobe Sound Fl. for 12 years before moving to Zephyrhills, Fl.; where he belonged to Southport Springs Golf Club. Richard is survived by his wife Lucille (Rivers) Lucier of 52 years. Three sons, Bruce and his wife Margaret of North Carolina; Keith and his wife Susan of Jacksonville, Fl and Troy of Greenfield, Mass. Four grandchildren; Kathryn and Keith Lucier of Putnam Conn and Melisha and Christopher of North Carolina. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 7th, 12:30 P.M. at the Elks Lodge #2731 in Zephyrhills.
