FAHRENBACH, Henry M., 77, of Zephyrhills, died Wednesday, September 3rd, 2003 at home. A retired Manager for Bell Telephone, he moved to this area in 1995 from his native Pennsylvania. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, a Korean War Marine Veteran and served in both Army and Marine Reserves. He was an avid camper and RV enthusiast and previously served as an EMT in both Lackawaxen, PA and Edin, NY. He was known for his construction of an A frame house in the Pocono Mountains and was active in railroad modeling, RC airplanes, fly fishing and hunting, golfing and was an accomplished pilot, musician, and pencil sketch artist.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Zephyrhills; three daughters, Linda Moller of Bethlehem, PA, Lori Gutshall of Hummelstown, PA and Kathy Eaton of Pittsburgh, PA; one son, David Fahrenbach of State College, PA; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2003 in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Chauncey officiating. The family received friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Doris Pauline Nutt
NUTT, Doris Pauline, 94, of Wesley Chapel, passed away on September 3, 2003. A native of Van Meter, Iowa, she moved to Dade City in the early 1950's. She worked at Pasco Abstract until retiring in 1973, when she moved to Wesley Chapel, Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dade City and was a lifetime member of the White Shrine and Eastern Star of Chariton, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Nutt and his wife, Mary of Wesley Chapel; two grandchildren, Jodi Geiger and her husband, Gary of Trenton, FL and Michael Nutt and his wife, Machele of Wesley Chapel; three great grandchildren, Megan Geiger, and Taylor and Lindsey Nutt; and a sister, Helen Miller of Des Moines, Iowa..
Graveside funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6th, 2003 at Geiger Cemetery with Rev. Al Brock officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Zephyrhills.
Herman L. Mills
MILLS, Herman L., 59, of Dade City, FL, passed away Friday, August 29, 2003 in Tampa. He is survived by his wife: Judy Mills, Dade City; his father: Grady Mills, Zolfo Springs; his nephew: Wayne Mills, Greenville, SC; 2 step-daughters: Emily Salings, Temple Terrace, Jennifer Heriinges, Fayetteville, NC; 2 step-sons: Matthew Elmore, Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey Elmore, Tampa; his uncle: George Mills, Okeechobee; 6 grandchildren and many other close family members. He was preceded in death by his mother: Ruby Altman Mills; his brother: Edward Mills; and his daughter: Kathy Mills.
He was born December 25, 1943 in Pahokee, FL, and moved to Dade City 3 years ago from Tampa. He was a Food Facilities Manager and was a member of Fort Dade Baptist Church in Dade City. He served on the Board of Directors for the Lighthouse for the Blind in Tampa and the Tampa Lions Club. He had been a member of Bayshore Baptist Church in Tampa where he had served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, and most recently as a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brandon.
Funeral services were held 2pm Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Fort Dade Baptist Church in Dade City. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery. Friends called from 5-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
William Edward Lee Thomas Jr.
THOMAS Jr., William Edward Lee, 77, of Dade City, FL, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2003 in Tampa. He is survived by wife: Mary K. Thomas, Dade City, FL; 1 daughter: Karen S. Cordes, Tampa, FL; 1 son: Guy Arthur Thomas, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 sister: Carrie McCloud, Zephyrhills, FL; 4 grandchildren: John Bos, Guy Thomas, Nicole Hicks, Brian Thomas; 5 great grandchildren: Casyln & Melodie Bos, Kevin & Tyler Valenti, Bradley Hicks.
He ran the God's Pantry at Shiloh in Dade City for many years serving the poor and the needy. He had served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and was a member of the Iron Workers Union #397 for many years.
Memorial services were held at 6pm Thursday at the Ark of Reconciliation Ministry at 9027 Lake Sunset Drive, Tampa, FL.. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the family trust c/o 100 Hancock Lake Road, Dade City, FL 33525.
Lawrence Pallante
PALLANTE, Lawrence, 93, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Pallante was born August 11, 1910, in Niles, Ohio, a son of Joseph and Lucia Clemente Pallante. A Niles McKinley graduate in 1928, he then graduated from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina with a degree in education. He began his teaching career in 1936 in Niles where he retired in 1975 after 39 years of service to the district. He was Niles City Schools first Athletic Director where he also coached many sports. He was inducted into the Niles McKinley Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 2001. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran serving in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; a son Lawrence, of New Jersey; a daughter, Lisa Ann Beslity and her husband, Steven of London, England; a stepson, Dr. Harry Blackstone of Dade City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Valerie Ledgerwood of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Miss Margaret Pallante of Niles; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph, John, Ralph, Paul, Robert and Donald; and by two sisters, Mary Bernard and Ann Marinelli.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 22nd, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills with Father John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st, 2003.
Vera Eileen Robertson
ROBERTSON, Vera E., 77, of Dade City, died Monday, December 15, 2003 at home. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia she moved to Florida in 1978 and to this area in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Sterling; eight children, Violet Hard of Charleston, WV, Judy Schafer of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Jim Robertson of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, John Robertson of Knoxville, TN, Ralph Robertson, MD of Tampa, Joyce Bullard of Plant City, David Robertson of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Dr. Daniel Robertson of Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Ed Hiesler of North Carolina; a sister, Marion Craig of Washington State; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Vincent Paul D'Agostino, Jr.
D'AGOSTINO, Vincent P., 46, of Tampa, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at home. A native of New York, New York, he moved to this area in 1999 from Long Island, New York. He was employed at James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital in Tampa.
Survivors include his wife, Sibyl of Wesley Chapel; a daughter, Samantha of Wesley Chapel; his parents, Vincent and Josephine D'Agostino of Ronkonkama, NY; and six siblings, Doreen, Anna, Christine, Lorenzo, Ciro and Jeaneen.
Funeral services will be held in Long Island.
Ann Donovan
DONOVAN, Ann, 86, of Dade City, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Royal Oak Nursing Home under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born December 1, 1917 in Windber, PA, and moved to Dade City 1 year ago.
She is survived by a daughter, Georgianna Darmento of Dade City, FL.
Funeral services will be held in Farmingdale, NY.
Charles J. Ferrell Jr.
FERRELL, Charles James Jr., 80, originally of Lacoochee, FL, passed away Friday, December 12, 2003 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born October 24, 1923 in Lacoochee, FL, and was retired from the Phosphate Industry as a Security Officer. He was a US Navy Veteran during WW II and retired from the US Air Force following service in the Korean War.
He is survived by his son: Charles William Ferrell, Texas; his daughter: Pamela Leach, St. Croix, Virgin Islands; his sister: Alyce McMahon, Philadelphia, PA; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Marjorie Burkett Ferrell.
Graveside Service was held 1:30 pm Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends called from noon-1pm on Wednesday at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. All were invited to a Celebration of Charles' life at Kafe Kokopelli at 2pm on Wednesday following the service. Flowers will be gratefully accepted, but those that wish may make donations in his name to Hernando-Pasco Hospice 7066 Ft. King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
