CREECH, Mavis I., 66, of Dade City, died Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City. A native of Marianna, FL, she moved to this area in 1974 from Plant City. She was a machine operator for Lykes-Pasco for 26 years until her retirement in 1999.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Joe; two daughters, Linda Hines of Mulberry and Tracie Groover of Dade City; her mother, Ethel Nichols of Plant City; a brother, Ernest Nichols of Covington, GA; a sister, Laurette Sanford of Plant City; and five grandchildren, Shanna & Shannon Hines, both of Mulberry and Raymond, Kelsey and Rachel Groover, all of Dade City.
The family received friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on February 3, 2004 at the funeral home. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain George Frances officiating. Burial followed at Geiger Cemetery.
June Succow
SUCCOW, June M., 72, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at home. A native of Sydney, Australia, she moved to this area in 1999 from Poconos, PA. She was a retired legal secretary and was an avid golfer as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Australia.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Lynn Bailey of Houston, Texas and Dawn LaRose of Kings Park, New York; a son, Scott Succow of Sydney, Australia; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Dade City with Rev. Kevin Morris officiating.
Bonnie Mae Barfield Dail
DAIL, Bonnie Mae Barfield, loving wife and mother, 83, died January 31, 2004 at Day Spring Nursing Home in Magnolia, North Carolina. Born in Dade City to Pioneer family Warren B. and Nina Madill. Preceded in death by brothers Ed Madill, Dr. James Madill and Capt. Laurence Madill- killed in the Normandy Beach invasion on D-Day, 1944.
Survivors include her husband Leslie Dail; daughter Dr. Nancy Kazarian and her husband, David of Clearwater; sons Charles Barfield and his wife, Katheryn of Largo and Mike Barfield and his wife Roseanne of Thononasassa; stepdaughter Carolyn Horne and her husband, Danny of Magnolia, NC; stepsons Ronnie Dail Wilmington ,NC and Kevin Dail and his wife, Kris of Dade City; sisters Mary Lee Parsons of Zephyrhills and Ninetta Powell of Roswell, GA; brother Allen Madill and his wife, Carolyn of Dade City; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Dade City with Dr. Jim Renault officiating.

Donald J. Dabbert
Dabbert, Donald J., 77 of Zephyrhills, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, January 31, 2004. A devoted and loving family man, he is survived by his daughter: Debbie Miles, Haleiwa, HI; his son: Mike Dabbert, Chillicothe, OH; 1 brother: Milton Dabbert, Marathon, FL; 2 sisters: Anita Page, Zephyrhills, FL, Kay Burgess, West Branch, MI; 3 grandchildren: Christopher in Ohio, Michelle in California, Stacy in Hawaii; 3 great grandchildren: one residing in Ohio, and 2 in Hawaii. Donald proudly served 27 years in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Cluster for his actions during the Korean Conflict and 2 tours in Vietnam. During his military career, Donald met and married Joyce Eichman on August 9, 1952. After retiring from the military, Donald and Joyce settled in Gulfport, MS, where they enjoyed each other for 27 years. When Joyce passed away on April 25, 2001, Don decided to move to Florida to be closer to family.
A memorial service was held 11am Friday, February 6, 2004 at Hodges Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center (formerly Kelly Memorial Funeral Home). Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in his name sent to Hernando-Pasco Hospice 7066 Ft. Jack Heskett
HESKETT, Jack, 76, of Tampa, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at Heritage Park Nursing Center in Dade City. A native of Noel , Missouri, he moved to this area in 1974 after serving 27 years in the US Air Force. He served as a comptroller in the military during Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions in Vietnam. He also worked as a Social Worker for the State of Florida, specializing in Elderly Services.
Survivors include his wife, Yvette; a son, Chris and his wife, Kathleen of Dade City; two grandchildren, Susan Folk and her husband, Kirk of Incirlik Air Base, Turkey and Dr. Eric Heskett and his wife, Katherine of Greenfield, Indiana; and two great grandchildren, Zachary Folk and Luke Folk, both of Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie-France Migon.
Graveside funeral services were held, with military honors, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa with Father Lewis Tanno officiating. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the staff of Heritage Park for their care and kindness. Flora Jane Yost
YOST, Flora Jane, 71, of Zephyrhills, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at home. A native of Canton, Ohio, she moved to Zephyrhills in 1989 from Riverview. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Massillon, Ohio.
Survivors include her husband, Ivan; a daughter, Cynthia Grimm of Canton, Ohio; two sons, Rick Yost of Canton and Terry Yost of North Canton, Ohio; her siblings, David (Connie) Uplinger of Cambridge, Ohio, Ellen (Henry) Stillon of Bysville, Ohio, Sue (Johnny) Cummings of Lawton, OK, William (Jewell) Uplinger of Oklahoma City, OK, Dick Uplinger of Shelby, Ohio, Daniel (Mary Jane) Uplinger of Okahumpka, FL, James Uplinger of Lawton, OK, Lavina (Bob) Corimier of Bellview, FL, Juanita Bobo of Lambridge, OH, Acie (Mary Jane) Uplinger of Carlton, MI, Sonny (Cathy) Uplinger of Cottage Grove, OR and Melvin Uplinger; her stepmother, Jeanette Uplinger of Cambridge, OH; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Vernon Uplinger and by her brother, Gary.

Robert P. Tackett, Sr.
TACKETT, Robert "Pappy", 66, of Zephyrhills, died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at home. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, he moved to Zephyrhills in 1984. He was a retired business owner, a Veteran of the US Marine Corps and was Pentecostal. An awesome husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all those who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Elnora; four children, Robert Perry Tackett, Jr. of Wesley Chapel, Serena Thomas of Dade City, John Rexford Tackett and Dennis James Tackett, both of Zephyrhills; seven siblings, Delbert, Lawrence, Darrel, Pearl, Katherine, Dorothy and Louise; and nine grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2004. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Riley officiating. Burial followed at Trilby Cemetery.
Helen Wise Thompson
THOMPSON, Helen Wise, 80, of Dade City, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at Royal Oak Nursing Care Center in Dade City. A native of Jacksonville, she moved to Lacoochee in 1935 and then to Dade City in 1949. She was a retired school teacher and homemaker having taught at Dade City Grammar School (Cox Elementary) from 1949 until 1959. She attended the 1st Baptist Church of Dade City and for the last ten years, was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Phil Thompson and his wife, Yvonne of Dade City; a sister, Arthur-Mae Lavender of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren, Chad Hughes and his wife, Aimee of Tampa and Joshua Hughes of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randall Belcher officiating. Diane Dreibelbis
DREIBELBIS, Diane V., 61. passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004, after a prolonged battle with metastatic breast cancer. Her final days were spent in the able and compassionate care of the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City.
Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of John M. and Florence A. Vought. Diane was raised in Mifflinburg, PA and graduated from Mifflinburg High School in 1959. During her married years, she lived in Lewisburg, PA Louisburg, NC, 25 years in Walton, NY and 4 years in Clarks Summit, PA. She took great pride in her work as a secretary in a variety of businesses and organizations. Diane also had a passion for tennis and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; a son, Michael and his wife, Misako; two grandchildren, Masami and Marisa; two brothers, Donald Vought of Center Valley, PA and John Vought of Lewisburg, Pa; and two sisters, Nancy Miller of Mechanicsburg, PA and Susan Will of New Berlin, PA.
