Irene VanBishler Thomas
THOMAS, Irene VanBishler, 85, of Dade City, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. A native of Rock Island, Illinois, she was a long time resident of Dade City. A retired office manager for Lykes-Pasco, she was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was the co-founder of the Florida Association for Retarded Children.
Survivors include four daughters: Kitty Thomas Ward of Dade City, Barbara Thomas of Houston, Texas, Lori Gale Thomas of Lakeland, and Sun Ann Taylor of Ponte Vedra; a son, Charles P. Thomas, II and his wife, Alicia of Dade City; a sister, Florine Williamson of Fremont, CA; and seven grandchildren: Christian T. Ward, Ashley I. Ward, Andrew D. Ward, November Church, Trey Thomas, William T. Thomas, and Jaime Taylor.
A memorial service was held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2004.

Jonathan Doerr
DOERR, Jonathan Michael, 19, of Bradenton, died Sunday, March 14th, 2004 at home. A native of Hartford, Connecticut, he moved here in 1990. He was a 2003 graduate of Bayshore High School and was a member of the JROTC. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and Cross Country and Track Team at Bayshore and was affiliated with the Calvinist Cadet Corps. He attended FSU and was a member of the Army ROTC.
Survivors include his mother, Susanne Doerr of Bradenton; his father, Henry “Hank” Doerr of Zephyrhills; three brothers, Henry Thomas “Hank” Doerr, III, Andrew Joseph “AJ” Doerr, and Taylor Patrick Doerr, all of Bradenton; his maternal grandmother, Theresa Bucher of Bradenton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family received friends at the funeral home in Zephyrhills, 5221 8th Street from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2004. The family also received friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2004 at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel in Bradenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19th, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton with Father Robert Tierney as celebrant.

BUTTS, Betty, 76, of Dade City, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Heritage Park. Arrangements are pending.
Lloyd Dunkle
DUNKLE, Lloyd R. "Whitey", 79, of Zephyrhills, retired auto mechanic, formally of hickory, PA passed away March 13, 2004. Survived by his wife, Margie Pruitt Dunkle of Zephyrhills; two daughters, Carol Weeks (Bob) of Hudson, FL and Susan Dunkle of Zephyrhills; a son, Robert Dunkle (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL; a stepson, Ernie Shultz of Zephyrhills; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Haney (Willard) of Washington, PA and Bonnie Cowden (Vanc) of Burgettstown, PA. Mr. Dunkle was preceded in death by his parents, Homer R. Dunkle and Mildred Miller Dunkle and brother, Donald Dunkle of Auella, PA.
A Memorial Service was held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2004 with Pastor Keith McKenzie officiating.
Ruth Peters
PETERS, Ruth M., 76, of Zephyrhills, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City. A native of Greensburg, PA, she was a long time resident of this area. She is survived by a sister, Mary Lou Mari of Pennsylvania.
Lucille Martin
MARTIN, Lucille, 81, of Dade City, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a long time resident of this area. Survivors include a daughter, Jacquelyn Klein of Dade City.
Victoria Heller
HELLER, Victoria, 55, of Columbus, Ohio, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Fredricktown, Ohio and was a manicurist at a beauty salon.
Survivors include a son, Hamish Jackson of Columbus; a daughter, Stephannie Sebach of Santa Anna, CA; her mother, Pauline Heller of Fredricktown, Ohio; two sisters, Diana Benson of Fredricktown, Ohio and Norma Johnston of Worthington, Ohio; a half-brother, Larry Heller of Mansfield, Ohiio; two half-sisters, Berdina Hall and Connie Fouts, both of Loudonville, Ohio; and a grandchild, Devon Marie Jackson of Seattle, WA.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Fredricktown.
John Richard Otis, Sr.
OTIS, John Richard Sr., 86, of Winterport, ME, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004 at his home in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born August 9, 1917 in Frankfort, ME, to Sylvester James Otis and Christine Perkins Otis. He was retired from the US Air Force and was a Winter Resident of Zephyrhills for the past 16 years.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Louise Otis and many other loving family members.
Memorial services was held Sunday afternoon at the Settlers Rest RV Park Community Center on Chancey Road. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date.
Robert L. Scholl, Sr.
SCHOLL, Robert L., Sr. 75, of Dade City, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A native of Peoria, Illinois, he was a retired city bus driver in Peoria and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include 10 children; Diane Elston of Van Buren, IN, Robert Scholl, Jr. of Rockwall, TX, Christine Roberts of Henry, IL, David Scholl of Ferndale, WA, Gail Scholl of Peoria, Eva Tiller of Indianapolis, IN, Michelle Scholl of Peoria, Mark Scholl of St. Paul, MN, Jeanie Lopez of Dade City and Mary Kay Scholl of St. Paul, MN; 35 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Peoria, Illinois.
Clara M. May
MAY, Clara "Granny May Rogers", 92, of Lacoochee, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at home. She moved here from her native Laverne, Alabama in 1943. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. She loved to can fruits and vegetables, fishing and yard work and was a country storyteller.
Survivors include a son, Paul Rogers and his wife, Mary of Lacoochee; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 from 6-8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. at Lacoochee Cemetery on Thursday, March 11, 2004 with Pastor Eldridge Parrish officiating.
