WILSON, Paul N., 59, of Dade City, FL, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004 in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born September 8, 1944 in Poughkeepsie, NY, to Harold Wilson and Ann Scheer Wilson. He was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and State University of New York in Albany, NY. He was employed as a Pricing Analyst at the Grand Union Co. in Waterford, NY for 27 years. He moved to Dade City 6 years ago where he worked for the local newspaper and shopper as an accountant.
He is survived by 1 brother: Edward M. Wilson, Scotia, NY.
Graveside services were held at 10am Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in his name to Hernando-Pasco Hospice c/o 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, Florida 33541.
Alma R. Hicks
HICKS, Alma R., 79, of Dade City, FL, passed away Thursday, March. 4, 2004 at her home. She was born April 14, 1924 in Covington County, AL, to George C. & Missouri Straughn Thompson. She moved to this area in 1948. She is survived by 2 sons & daughters-in-law: William F. & Joyce Hicks Jr., Lakeland, FL, Larry & Alice Dorcik, Sanford, FL; 1 sister: Eunice Ballard, Crestview, FL; numerous nieces and nephews including: John & Joann Ballard, Dade City, FL; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She worked in the early years at the Pasco Shopper in Dade City and for several years with the Pasco County School System as a Clinic Aide. She was a Layout Artist for Hick's Printing. She was an outstanding horticulturist who grew and loved flowers all of her life. She was a member of the Pasadena Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held 2pm Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City with Dr. John Landon officiating. Burial followed at William's Cemetery. Friends called from 4-7pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Martha White
WHITE, Martha, 70, of Ridge Manor, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A native of Lenox, Georgia she moved to Brooksville in 1983 and then to Ridge Manor in 1995. She was a retired secretary and Payroll Manager for Florida Crushed Stone and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. She volunteered for her church and for local area hospitals assisting the elderly.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Debra Martin and her husband, Ken of Nashville; five sons, Kenneth Barnes and his wife, Margie of Madison, TN, Jeff Barnes and his wife, Elaine of Murfreesboro, TN, Neal Barnes and his wife, Denene of Kileen, TX, Rodney L. Barnes and his wife, Anita of Frankfort, KY and Timothy Barnes of Phoenix, AR; a sister, Jeanette Shaw of Ray City, GA; a brother, David Harrell of Murfreesboro; seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John Harrell.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee with Pastor Eldridge Parrish officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Sarah Elizabeth Knight Dayton
DAYTON, Sarah Elizabeth Knight, 88, of Dade City, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at home. Born in College Park, GA, she was the daughter of W.C. and Zee Knight. She moved to Tampa as an infant and then to Dade City in 1940 upon her marriage to the late O.L. Dayton, Jr. She operated the Sarah Knight School of Dance in Tampa from the late 1920's until 1940. She taught dance at Lillian Smith's Laurel Falls Camp for Girls and choreographed a performance of the "Firebird" which was filmed and widely shown in Georgia schools. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Alpha Sorosis, the Dade City Garden Club and The Woman's Club. She attended Florida State College for Women (FSU).
Survivors include two sons, William Dayton and James Dayton, both of Dade City; a daughter, Beverly Dayton of Tallahassee; a son-in-law, William Sherrill of Tallahassee; three granddaughters, Caroline Dayton-Sherrill of Tallahassee, Tamara Sherrill and Hillary Richards, both of Maui; and two great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Vivian Webb Dayton of Dade City; three nieces: Elizabeth Langford, Barbara Tate and Sally Tate; and one nephew, Robert Tate, Jr.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2004 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery.
Kamalaben C. Patel
PATEL, Kamalaben C., 74, a visitor from New Jersey, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are private.
Concetta Cassello
CASSELLO, Concetta, 90, of Zephyrhills, died Friday, February 27, 2004 at home. She moved here in 1974 from her native Chicago, Illinois. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Cassello of Zephyrhills and Salvatore "Sam" Cassello of Lockport, IL; a daughter, Jean Niebling of Palos Hills, IL; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Salvador Contreras, Jr.
CONTRERAS, Salvador, Jr. "Chava", 19, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident. A native of Dade City, he was employed by Pike's Electric and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. A hard worker, he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Salvador, Sr. and Maria Contreras of San Antonio; two sisters, Leticia Contreras Benetiz of Oxford, FL and Marisol Contreras Benetiz of Belleview; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004. Funeral services will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004 with Father Ramon Hernandez officiating.
Russell B. Burt
Burt, Russell B., 87, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at East Pasco Medical Center in Zephyrhills. He was born December 22, 1916 in Grant Township, Iosco County, Michigan to John R. Burt and Fannie Smith Burt. He was retired from the Tool & Die Industry as a Tool Maker and was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
He is survived by his wife: Lucy Nadine Burt, Zephyrhills, FL; 2 daughters: Nancy Gardiner, Sterling Heights, MI, Betty Garlick, Atlanta, GA; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Gardiner, Heather Fife, Zebulon Garlick; 2 great grandchildren: Kaelyn Fife and Gabrielle Fife. He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter: Danielle Garlick.
Graveside services will be held 10am Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Pastor Bill Strode officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Dade City VFW.

Johnna Gale Dowdey
DOWDEY, Johnna, 57, of Trilby, died Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to this area in 2003 from Cocoa Beach. A graduate of George Washington University, she had previously owned an art gallery in New York and had been the owner of "Best Behavior", a dog training facility in Cocoa Beach. She was a member and past vice president of Greyhound Pets of America, a greyhound rescue society and was a member of "Wake Up Cocoa Beach".
She was predeceased by her parents, General George Dowdey and Mary Ella Philips Dowdey. She is survived by a companion, Dr. Milly Golonka of Trilby.
