Moudie Swank
SWANK, Moudie, 65, of Dade City, died Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A native of Rocky Ford, Colorado, she was a long time resident of Dade City. She was a homemaker and was Baptist. A loving mother and grandmother, she was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include four children, Gloria Rogers, Gary Frye, Glina Frye and Debora Bess, all of Dade City; a sister, Judy Gale Gilbert of Webster; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Ray Frye.
The family received friends on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 from 3-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earl David Tucker
On May 28th, Earl David Tucker (born May 6, 1926) surrendered himself to heaven, joining his wife Betty, sons Barry and Earl Jr. and grandson Jonathan. He passed away peacefully in the care of his family; daughter Patricia, her son David and wife Diana and their children, Earl, Jared, and Victoria, son Danny and his wife Carrie and their 14 children and 8 grandchildren and daughter Connie Tucker. Other local family members include Wilbur and Carol Posey and Johnny and Doris White. These strong family bonds as well as his sense of humor and positive attitude aided him in his long and difficult battle with kidney disease. This battle began 3 days after the bomb drop in Nagasaki where he was exposed to atomic radiation during his service with the US Coast Guard, having recently graduated from Jack Dempsey's School of Charm and capable of sending Morse code faster than it could be received. Eventually that radiation consumed his kidney with cancer. He spent the rest of his life jumping through federal hoops to receive his VA benefits for this disability where, as usual, the government won by outlasting him. We thank the Gambro Dialysis Center of Temple Terrace. With their care and diligence we had three more precious years. We are also grateful to Hospice's Blue Team, without whom we would not have honored his last wish to remain at home. We struggled to help him, guided by the strength and courage he exhibited all of his life, beginning with his produce business in Chattanooga, TN, as passed on to him by his granddaddy Finch. Upon returning to Tennessee after the war he met and married his bride of 57 years, Betty. Then he embarked on a new career in the automobile business and a new life in Florida. For thirty plus years, he owned and operated Spinning Wheel Motors despite the gas wars that decimated his competitors. Because of his honesty and positivism, generations of families offered him repeat and referral business. His spirit and liveliness touched the lives of many and changed the lives of some. Funeral services were held 10am Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Terrace Oaks Funeral Home in Temple Terrace. Burial followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to service time, from 9am till 10am.
