DEVORE, Keith L., 77, of Dade City, Florida left this earthly life on May 19, 2004. He was born in Lansing, Michigan and moved to Dade City in 1988. He served our country in the US Army from 1946 to 1948. He retired from the Oldsmobile, Forge Plant (Lansing, Michigan) after 32 years. He was a member of Richland Baptist Church, Zephyrhills, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife's parents and two grandchildren. His loving family includes his wife, Alice; his children Michael Ferris of Lansing, Michigan, Thomas (Carol) Ferris of Grand Ledge, Michigan, Nancy (Dick) Scullin of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Judi (Bob) Stowell of Three Rivers, Michigan, Joanne (Ken) Reiss of Scottsdale, Arizona, Merialice (Dick) Jensen of Lansing, Michigan, Robert (Vicky) DeVore of Swartz Creek, Michigan, Cheryl (Clyde) Zittel of Lansing, Michigan; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a sister Joan Payne of Safford, Arizona; and a brother, Robert of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to either Gulfside Regional Hospice, 3539 Universal Plaza, New Port Richey, FL 34652 or Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
Funeral Services were held in Lansing.
Brooke Ashley Dorr
DORR, Brooke Ashley, infant daughter of Tom and Sharon (Neuhofer) Dorr, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville. She is survived by her parents; a sister, Katrina; her maternal grandparents, Margaret and Joe Neuhofer; her paternal grandmother, Doris Dorr; and her paternal great grandmother, Bernadette Theroux.
Funeral services was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Joe at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2004 with Father Patrick Rebel officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Sydney Marie Fields
FIELDS, Sydney Marie, infant daughter of Thomas Fields and Danielle Damsa, died Friday, May 15, 2004 at Tampa General Hospital. Survivors also include her maternal grandparents, Janice and Steve Damsa of Dade City, her paternal grandparents, Patricia Williams of Zephyrhills and Richard Fields of Sioux Falls, SD; and an uncle, Steve Damsa of Bremerton, Washington.

Peggy Jo Miller
MILLER, Peggy Jo, 60, of Dade City, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at Tampa General Hospital. A native of Limona, Florida, she moved to this area in 1999 from Tampa. She was a computer analyst in the communications industry. Very creative, she enjoyed quilting and sewing. Loving, caring, giving and generous, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; four daughters, Suzanne McLaughlin, Debbie Trojanowski and Terri Stubbs, all of Dade City and Jennifer Trautman of St. Petersburg; two brothers, Norman Wilson of Warner Robbins, GA and Ferrill Wilson of Delaware; a sister, Bobbi Nell Strong of Ruskin; and 9 grandchildren.
Edna Rhoades
RHODES, Edna, 74, of Lake Panasoffke, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Dade City, she was born December 4, 1929 to Harvey Sullivan and Mary Connell Sullivan. She was a life long resident of this area and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Edward A. Rhoades; three sons, Lonnie E. Rhodes and his wife, Barbara of Dade City, Donnie G. Rhodes and his wife, Margaret of Perry, FL and Robert A. Rhodes and his wife, Cheryl of Perry; a daughter, Ann Rhodes Edwards and her husband, Randy of Lakeland; five siblings, JW, Horace, Raymond, Susan and Bennie; her step-mother, Nellie Gulledge of Plant City; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2004. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2004 in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City with Rev. Harry Rhoades officiating. Burial followed at Emmaus Cemetery.
Edwin Nolen
NOLEN, Edwin J., Jr., 87, of Dade City, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at Zephyr Haven Nursing Care Center. A native of Philadelphia, PA, he moved to Dade City in 1945. He was a graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science in 1939. He owned and operated Nolen's Drug in Dade City until his retirement in 1972. Thereafter, throughout his life, he continued to work as a Pharmacist and was active in his community.
He is survived by daughters, Penelope (Penny) and Olaf (Ole) Johansen and their children, Michael H. Johansen, Jennifer and Stephen Shinn, and Amy Elizabeth of New Jersey, Michelle A. Nolen, her daughter Renee, and Paul Hardin and great granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Hardin of Sarasota, and Terry L. Wagner of Anna Marie Island, Jinx Allyson Nolen Epperson, her sons, Jason B. Epperson, Patrick N. Epperson; a sister, Florence M. Kile of Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Thomas J. Nolen of California and Robert Nolen of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased Thursday, March 25, 2004 by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Nolen as well as a daughter, Patricia Elizabeth Wagner, and by Edward B. Epperson, the late husband and father of Jinx Allyson Nolen Epperson and Patrick Epperson, respectively.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 5:00 PM with Father John Hayes officiating.
Catherine Eileen Farris
FARRIS, Catherine E., 77, of Dade City, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. She moved to the United States in 1945 from her native Seaham, England and to this area in 1985 from Lafayette, Indiana. She was an account representative for GTE of Indiana and retired after 27 years of employment. She was a member of the Business & Professional Women's Association and other telephony organizations. She was also a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Farris of Roswell, GA and David Farris of Terre Haute, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Michael Farris of Roswell, GA and Rendela Wentzel and David Farris, both of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Graveside funeral services were held at Pine Lake Cemetery in Laporte, Indiana on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 11:00 AM.
Martha Elizabeth Kolaric
Kolaric, Martha Elizabeth, 79, of Dade City, FL, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Royal Oak Nursing Center under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born November 2, 1924 in Shawmut, AL, the youngest of 15 children, to James Monroe Bassett and Ann Jones Bassett. She moved to Dade City 8 years ago from Pinellas Park, FL.
She is survived by 6 children: Bobby & Rita Monroe, Colorado Springs, CO, James & Dyla Monroe, Valdosta, GA, Linda Terrell & Milan Bera, Helena, AL, JoAnn & Joe Chambers, Gulfport, FL, Shelia & Daniel Puckelwartz, Pinellas Park, FL, Jackie & Lisa Monroe, Guyton, GA; 8 step-children: Toni & Aaron Watkins, St. Joseph, FL, Patricia & Andrew Hennessy, Dade City, FL, John Kolaric, Bradenton, FL, Mary & Kenneth Phillips, Brent, AL, Robert & Theresa Kolaric, Dade City, FL, Christine & Robert Ruggeiro, Bradenton, FL, Thomas & Betty Kolaric, Brooksville, FL, Barbara & Randy Gant, Dade City, FL; 1 brother: Earnest Bassett, Childersburg, AL; 51 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Kolaric, on September 14, 2002.
Funeral services were held 10am Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Joseph with Rev. Patrick Rebel officiating. Friends called from 5-7pm Monday at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Josephine Kotasek Brhel
Brhel, Josephine Kotasek, 87, of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2004 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Our Lady of Angels Church in Endwell, NY, and was a retired Endicott Johnson employee.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Jane & John Svercek, Endicott, NY; her son: Francis & Dawn Brhel, Zephyrhills, FL; 5 grandchildren: Lynn & Todd Gilyard, Colleen & Philip McMahon, Lori & Paul Hauptfleisch, Kathy Clark, Karen Svercek, Bob Scheetz; 2 step-grandchildren: Cindy & Bradley Harder, Kristine & Kenny Knapp; 14 great grandchildren: Kyle, Michael, Jimmy, Mary, Bobby, Sara, Erica, Collet, Samantha, Katelynd, Victoria, Anna, Adam, and Austin; 3 sisters: Genevieve & Russ Wheatly, Emily & Michael Mrva, Mary Chess; 1 brother: Michael & Olga Kotasek; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Brhel.
Graveside services will be held 11am Wednesday at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City.
John Robert Miller
Miller, John Robert, 59, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004 at his home in Zephyrhills. He was born September 26, 1944 in Anderson, IN, to Fred Miller and Ada Harding Miller. He worked for the Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 22 years before retiring as a Line Supervisor. He moved to Zephyrhills 7 years ago from Dade City. He is survived by his wife: Sandra L. Miller, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 son: Tony Miller, Louisiana; 1 daughter: Trina Heflin, Michigan; 1 brother: Jim Miller, Anderson, IN; 4 sisters: Jean Stout, Charlotte Burton, Sandra Leper, all of Anderson, IN, Susie Vandergrist, Indiana; and 3 grandchildren.
