Rene E. Grondin
Grondin, Rene E., 79, of Ridge Manor, FL, passed away July 13th, 2004, at Pasco Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 18th,1925 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Mr. Grondin retired from the U.S. Navy on September 30th, 1971 after 30 years of service. He was an E-9 and served in the European and African Theatre of Operations. He served in several Wars including WWII, Korea and two tours in Vietnam.
He is survived by three sons, Rene Robert Grondin, Paul Andrew Grondin and James Joseph Grondin; a daughter, Jo Anne Grondin; surviving brothers are Rosaire Grondin of Mapleville, RI, Robert Grondin of Woonsocket, RI, Roger Grondin of Springfield, Mass., four sisters, Rita Charpentier of Woonsocket, RI, Theresa Grondin of Blackstone, MA., Marie Darveau, of North Smithfield, RI., and Pauline Ledoux, of Woonsocket, RI. Mr Grondin is also survived by a sister in law, Pauline Grondin, Grand Children Jennifer, Billy, Tara, Rebecca, and Great Grandchildren Jenna Marie, Dakota, Dillion, Rachael, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Anna Grondin; and three brothers, Raymond, Ronald and Roland.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 14, 2004 at All Saints Catholic Church in Woonsocket RI.

John E. Burgess
Burgess, John E., 64, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Monday, July 12, 2004 in Dade City, under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice, after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 9, 1939 in Blair, WV, to Wirt V. Burgess and Stella Canterbury Burgess. He retired from General Motors in 1991 at the CPC Chevrolet Plant in Brook Park, OH, after 30 years of service. He was a Tool Maker and Supervisor in Engineering. He moved to Zephyrhills 8 years ago from Haines City, FL. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an Usher and was active with the Knights of Columbus and the Zephyrhills Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer and was past club champion at Zephyr Springs.
He is survived by his wife: Lillian G. Burgess, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 daughter: Tammie A. Jackson, Brunswick, OH; 3 step-sons: Kenneth Michael Buckley, Oberlin, OH, Keith Alan Buckley, Elyria, OH, Dr. Lt. Michael A Buckley, Encinitas, CA; 1 brother: Kermit E. Burgess, Zephyrhills, FL; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 4pm Thursday, July 15, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to either Hernando-Pasco Hospice 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541 or St. Joseph Catholic Church 38710 5th Avenue, Zephyrhills, FL 33542.

Eleanore L. Bingham
Bingham, Eleanore Lillian, 77, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Saturday morning, July 10, 2004 in Zephyrhills. She was born December 20, 1926 in St. Lawrence, WI, to Peter A. Mueller and Helen Thorn Mueller. She worked for the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store and was a Catholic. She moved to Zephyrhills 22 years ago from Kenosha, WI, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Clarence D. Bingham, Zephyrhills, FL; her son: Robert M. Bingham, Apex, NC; her daughter: Carolyn J. Broadway, Elkhart, IN; 2 brothers: Elmer Mueller, Hartford, WI, Fredrick Mueller, Slinger, WI; 5 sisters: Ruth Striegel, Slinger, WI, Anita Hartmann, West Bend, WI, Carmen Dais, Hartford, WI, Marion Kiefer, West Bend, WI Joyce Weidmeyer, Hartford, WI; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Barbara A. Vranak; and 1 brother: Alvin Mueller.

Delores "Peggy" Penix
Penix, Delores "Peggy", 51, of Bronx, NY, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004 in Dade City surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1953 in Dade City to Robert Lee & Essie Coleman Penix Sr.. She worked for the US Postal Service.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary & Cleo Stinyard; her son: Jaime Penix; her mother: Essie Penix; 12 brothers & sisters: Clarence Sims, Bobby Lenton, Katheren & Billy Southward, Lenola Penix, Roberta Penix, Cheryl & Wayne Wormack, Robert & Felicia Penix Jr., Marilyn & Jose Comacho, Alvin & deina Penix, Robin & Clinton Johnson, Mark & Geneva Penix, Bernard Penix; 2 aunts: Amanda Smith, Alice Timms; 1 uncle: Curtis White; her granddaughter: Nylah Amari Stinyard; and 40 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father: Robert Lee Penix Sr..
Funeral services were held 11am Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Mt Zion AME Church with Pastor Mandela Smith officiating. Burial followed at Dade City Cemetery. Friends called from 6-8pm Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.

Charles T. McBeth
MCBETH, Charles T., 84, of Homosassa, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in Crystal River. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he moved to this area in 1976 from Wyandotte, MI. He was a retired welder for Great Lake Steel in River Rouge, MI and was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Oretha.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2004. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Gardens. The family receivef friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at the funeral home.

John Franklin Hern Sr.
HERN, John Franklin Sr., 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2004 under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. He was born July 29, 1910 in Ancon, Canal Zone to John F. Hern & Inez Dillon Hern. He worked for the Panama Canal Company for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife: Margaret Moore Hern, Zephyrhills, FL; 2 sons: John F. Jr. & Fran Hern, Zephyrhills, FL, Richard A. & Ruth Hern, Valrico, FL; 2 grandchildren: John F. Hern III and Yvette "Mitchie" Perkins; 4 great grandchildren: Adam, Darien, Bailey, and Joh Phillip.
Memorial services will take place at a later date in Dothan, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to either Hernando-Pasco Hospice 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541 or the Panama Canal Museum 7985 113th Street, Suite 100, Seminole, FL 33772-4785.

Betty A. Bliss
BLISS, Betty A., 74, of Zephyrhills, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at East Pasco Medical Center. A native of Toledo, Ohio, she moved to this area in 1979 from Tampa. She was an accomplished seamstress and had been employed at both Ray's Men's Wear and Quality Drapery House in Marlette, Michigan. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Marlette.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Charles "Alvin" Bliss of Zephyrhills; five children, Frank Bliss and his wife, Judy of Zephyrhills, Charles Bliss and his wife, Debra of Marlette, Linda Eagle and her husband, Jim of Sandusky, Michigan, Norm Bliss and his wife, Shellie of Marlette and Marilyn Davis and her husband, Robert of Zephyrhills; thee sisters, Judi Brown and her husband, Tom, and Kathryn Johnson and Barb Johnson, all of Hillman, Michigan; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Gladys Johnson, a brother William, and a sister, Mary.

Anne Louise "Peg" Hofmann
HOFMANN, Anne Louise "Peg", 85, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away July 1, 2004 under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. She was born June 11, 1919 in Pennsylvania to Fred Howard Estep and Ruth Marie Chamberlin Estep. She was a retired office manager for Smith Kline Beecham.
She is survived by her brother: Waddel Estep, Tampa, FL; her niece: Ruth Marie Dell, Clearwater, FL; and her nephew: Waddell Estep, Pennsylvania. She was loved by her church family at New Life Church of Dade City and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held 1pm Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Friends called 2 hours prior to service time, from 11am till 1pm. Interment will take place at Serenity Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, PA.

June C. Sutton
SUTTON, June C., 83, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 in Greenville, Tennessee. She was born June 28, 1921 in Atlanta, Georgia to Leo Ablin and Juanita Patterson Ablin. Survivors include a son, Frank Sutton and his wife, Cathy of Brooksville; three grandchildren, Shannon Sutton, Michelle Sutton and David Sutton and his wife, Shannon, all of Brooksville; and a great grandson, Austin Sutton of Brooksville.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m on Friday, October 15, 2004. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Tampa.
