Mr. Richard J. Kenney, 92, of Dade City died December 16, 2005 following a brief illness. Mr. Kenney was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 5, 1913 and moved to Dade City nine years ago from North Fort Myers. He was a long time and dedicated member of the Elks Lodge and the Eagles. Mr. Kenney is survived by his son Mr. and Mrs. Alan Dempster of Mt. Plymouth, Step-daughter Carol Parsons of Vancouver, Canada, step-grandson Sean Dempster of Rawlings, North Carolina, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kenney will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held in Mr. Kenney’s honor at a later date.
Alma Cone Pearce Croft
CROFT, Alma Cone, Pearce, age 91, of Dade City, Florida passed away peacefully on December 20, 2005. Mrs. Croft was born in Lake City, FL on September 19, 1914. She moved to Dade City in 1953 from Miami, Florida. She was a member of Amelia Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Croft; a son, LeRoy Pearce of Dade City; a daughter, Betty Stubbs of Osteen, FL; six grandchildren, Malcom Clemons, Jr., Charles Clemons, Glenda Pearce, Brenda Parrish, Ricky Pearce and Shane Pearce; and nine great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her three brothers, Wilbur Cone, Ernest Cone and Jacob Cone and her two grandchildren, Ricky Clemons and Marsha Clemons Kilpatrick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5th Street Chapel, from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2005 with Pastor Eldridge Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be mad to the Florida Baptist Children's Home in Lakeland, FL.
Rev. Charles Richard Jacobson
Jacobsen, Rev. Charles Richard, 67, died December 14, 2005. He was born August 10, 1938 in Tampa, Florida and is a lifelong resident. He was a Cabinet Maker and loves fishing and western movies and preaching the Lord’s Word. He loved His wife and children. He loved animals. He was a member of New Life Assembly. He did ministry in nursing homes. He is survived by his loving family, Wife Clema Lee Jacobsen, Dade City, five daughters; Pamela (Myer) Edelstein, Wesley Chapel, Melissa (Brian) Guest, Zephyrhills, Brenda (Greg) Garcia, Dade City, Cynthia (Frank) Conkel, Wesley Chapel, Valerie McIntire, New Port Richey, two sons; David Jacobsen, Wesley Chapel, James Jacobsen, Wesley Chapel, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Hwy 54. A service will follow at 1:00 PM.
Helen Ethel Aldrich
Aldrich, Helen Ethel, 83, of Lutz passed away Friday, December 16, 2005 to be reunited In heaven with her husband of 55 years William Aldrich Sr., who passed away March 10, 1997. She was born September 24, 1922 in Newport, VT. They retired to Florida 19 years ago from Peterborough, N.H.. Helen was very active in the order of Eastern Star In Francestown, N.H. holding positions of Matron and Grand Ruth. She was also active in The Congregational Church in Bennington, N. H.. She was Superintendent of Sunday School for many years. They are both Angels now watching over their four children; Helen Staiti of Amherst, N. H., William Jr. of Lutz, Walter of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and David of Dunedin; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Their true Love for each other has touched everyone that has known them in their lives and the Family they created out of that Love for each other. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lutz.
Marion E. Prichard
Pritchard, Marion E., 93, of Englewood, FL, formerly of Zephyrhills, FL, and Honeoye, NY, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Englewood Community Hospital. She made Florida her permanent home 6 years ago. She was born July 8, 1912 in Chile, NY, to James Harper and Mabel Curtice Harper. She worked for General Railway Signal Co. in Rochester, NY for 32 years before her retirement as a cafeteria supervisor in 1977. Marion was active in the Order of the Easter Star for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ernest Pritchard, who passed away March 18, 1993. She is survived by her daughter: Gail A. Phillips, Englewood, FL; her son: D. James Pritchard, Honeoye, NY; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Canadice United Methodist Church, Co. Rd. #37, Canadice, NY, on January 7, 2006 at 2pm. A reception at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eagle Star Chapter 350, P.O. Box 92, Honeoye, NY, 14471.
James Alton Crane
Crane, James Alton, 72, of Dade City, FL, passed away Friday morning, December 16, 2005 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born November 25, 1933 in East Rainelle, WV, to Arnold Crane and Dolly Mae Brown Crane. He was a member of the Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church in Millersville, MD, the Dundalk Optimist Club in Baltimore, the Tall Cedars Forest Number 45, the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, and was an avid golfer. He has been a winter resident of Dade City for the past 13 years and attended the First United Methodist Church in Dade City. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Betty Jane Crane, of Dade City, FL, and Crownsville, MD; 3 sons: James Arnold Crane, Lancaster, SC, John Alton Crane, Crownsville, MD, Walter Robert Crane, Deale, MD; his mother: Dolly Mae Miller, Gettysburg, PA; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Crane, Wesley Crane, Ashleigh Crane, Chase Crane; 3 great grandchildren: Sierra, Trinity, Jacey; three brothers, one sister, several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Dade City with Dr. James Renault officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his name to the Hernando-Pasco Tree of Life Memorial at 37445 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525. A memorial service will take place in Maryland at a later date.

Buckingham, Dale Alan, 48, of Zephyrhills, Florida, died unexpectedly at his residence, Tuesday, December 13, 2005. He was born November 10, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois. He moved here from Washington, Il. in 1988. He was a truck driver at Corporate Express of Tampa. He was a loving, son, husband and father. He lived for his children, loved NASCAR, football and was a Chicago Cubs fan. He was proud of the fact he took Care of and provided for his family. He is survived by his son, Christopher Buckingham, Zephyrhills, Daughter, Bryana Buckingham of Ohio, Daughters, Toni Spencer of Orlando And Jackie Spencer of Dade City, one grandson, Jimmy Cruz, Dade City, granddaughter, Cameo Buckingham of Ohio, two brothers, Edward Gene (Dianne) Buckingham, Washington, IL and William (Sandra) Buckingham of Peoria, Il. He is preceded in death by his wife Florene Buckingham in December of 2002, his father, John Buckingham and mother Virginia Mae Buckingham. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday December 18, 2005 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on 54. A service will follow at 2:00 PM. Rev. Randall Belcher will officiate.
Bruce Jeffery "Jeff" Sutherland
Sutherland, Bruce Jeffery (Jeff), 43, died at his residence in Lutz December 11, 2005. He was born December 5, 1962. He loved his dogs and his motorcycle. He belonged to the Southern Cruisers. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Sutherland, Lutz, his mother, Judith Sutherland, Zephyrhills, one sister Lisa (Jason) Lemay, Zephyrhills, two brothers, Brian Sutherland, Mark (Winde) Sutherland all of Zephyrhills, several nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father Bruce Sutherland A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 Hwy 301 in Dade City. Pastors Dan and Patty David will officiate.

LETHCO, Brenda Gail, 53, of Dade City, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at home. She moved to this area in 1975 from her native Louisville, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and a member of Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church in Dade City. She is survived by her husband, Randy; a daughter, Eva VanDam of Zephyrhills; three sons, James Arrington of Zephyrhills and Michael and Ashton Lethco, both of Dade City; seven siblings, Doris Baby and Jene Miby, both of Greensburg, KY, Linda Hill of Senora, KY, Diane Hernandez of Florida, Wayne Kenny and Woodrow Kenny, Jr, Both of Louisville, KY, and Michael Kenny of Sarasota; two half brothers, Farron Kenny and Brice Kenny; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, 5th Street Chapel, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2005. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m.
Shirley Sykes
SYKES, Shirley, 62, of Dade City, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. She was a homemaker and a native of Florida. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, George Sykes; a son, James Brown and his wife, Katie, of Dade City; a daughter, Elizabeth Norris and her husband, David of Dade City; four grandchildren, Barry, Kayla, Kenneth and David, Jr; and two sisters, Joyce Yasnosky and her husband Johnny; and Edith Wear and her husband, Charlie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 16, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. until Noon. Burial will follow at William's Cemetery.
Charlotte "Sherry" McKinney
McKinney, Charlotte “Sherry”, 57, of Tampa, Florida, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born February 14, 1948 in Conneaut Lake, Pa. She moved here in 1986 from Texas. She married James A. McKinney in February 1968. She had two children: Melissa, and James Paul McKinney, She was a faithful member of Faith Family Worship Center; served on the Worship Team and Women’s Ministries; loved children and served in Children’s Ministries and as a Sunday School Teacher. Sherry was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, James A. McKinney, Tampa, Daughter Melissa McKinney, Tampa, Son, James P. McKinney, Tampa, five sisters and one brother; Carol Jackson, Shinglehouse, PA, Patricia Jackson, Tampa, Linda Grant, Tampa, John Gamble, Jr., Tampa, Sharon Moon, Freeport, FL, JoAnna Throop, Tampa, step-mother, Grace Gamble, Tampa and two grandsons; Charles Seth Brant and James Noah Brant of Tampa. She is preceded in death by her parents, John D. Gamble, Sr. and Ellen Griggs. Services will be at Faith Family Worship Center in Tampa on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Lee Jackson will preside. A graveside service will be held at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
