Sollberger, Claudia, 76, of Zephyrhills left this life on July 5, 2006. Mrs. Sollberger was born on April 26, 1930 in Grafton, West Virginia to parents Charles and Laura O. Williams. Mrs. Sollberger moved to Zephyrhills ten years ago from Mars, PA with her beloved husband and life long dance partner of 54 years Robert Sollberger. She is predeceased by her son Allen, and survived by her husband and daughter Renee (David) Hamel of Massachusetts. Mrs. Sollberger was a wonderful wife and mother who loved to dance and had a smile that lit up any room she entered. She will be missed by all who knew her especially her loving family. Arrangements were handled by Hodges Family Funeral Home, and internment will be held in her hometown of Grafton, West Virginia.
Jewell V. Brock
Brock, Jewell V., 68, of Dade City, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A life-long resident of this area, she was a Homemaker and was Baptist. Survivors include her children, Joy McKinney of Ridge Manor, Jasper Brock of Lacoochee, Johnnie Brock of Blackshear, Georgia, Joetta Peacock, Janice Brock and Jewell Green, all of Lacoochee, Joan Philips of White City, Fla, and Joy Fay Stafford of Lacoochee; a brother, Bobby Fletcher of Brooker, Fla; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James Brock and a sister, Heneryetta Fletcher. The family will receive friends at the Hwy 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday (Today). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby Nell Green
Green, Ruby Nell, 70, of Dade City, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at home. A native of Kinston, Alabama, she had been a resident of this area for over 60 years. She was the owner of Green's Construction Cleaning Company. She was "Mom" to everyone and generous to a fault. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Billy Green; four children; Jeanette Davis of Atlanta, GA, Tommy Powell of Zephyrhills, Doris Chenkin of Zephyrhills and John Powell of Dade City; a beloved adopted daughter, Jeanne Joiner of Dade City; two brothers, Roy Hutto of Dade City and Ricky Chatham of Opp, Alabama; four sisters, Evelyn Grimes of Brighton, Colorado and Linda Bledsoe, Janet Frazier and Debra Donaldson, all of Opp. AL; 10 Grandchildren, Micah Davis of Atlanta, Jonathan Davis of Tampa and Bryn Davis of Atlanta, Taleesha, Torrenna and Taylor Powell, all of Zephyrhills, Teresa Chenkin Phillips of Dade City, Robert Todd Chenkin of Connecticut, Joseph Christian Powell of Moss Point, Mississippi and Joshua Cane Powell of Dade City; and five great grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas Davis, Jr of Tampa, Carmen Elizabeth Davis of Tampa and Deaven Phillips, Ethan Phillips and Tammy Chenkin, all of Dade City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Parker of Opp, AL and by a granddaughter, Pasha Lynea Powell of Zephyrhills. The family will receive friends at the 5th Street Chapel of funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday (Today) July 7, 2006. Funeral Services will be held in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Morris officiating. Private interment will follow.
Robert A. "Bob" Locke
Locke, Robert A. “Bob”, 62, of Ridge Manor, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2006. He was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Ridge Manor from Mt. Dora in 1983. He was Baptist, a 32nd Degree York Rite Mason, Official Umpire for Dade City and Pasco County Little League, member of the National High School Rodeo Association, and Alumni of the University of Central Florida and Rollins College. He was the former owner of the Tri-County Feed Store. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Mary E. Locke; daughters, Liz Windsor and her husband, Johnny of Brooksville and Kathy Rice and her husband, Kelly of Webster; his mother; Lillian I. Locke of Ocala, his brother, Nelson Locke of Blairsville, GA; and two sisters, Irene Newman of Pocatello, Idaho and Alice Pulliam of Ocala; and four grandchildren, Shelton and Winston Rice of Webster and Clayton and Sammy Windsor of Brooksville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Hwy 301 Chapel, 11441 US Hwy 301, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday (Today), July 6, 2006. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.
Salvador Vasquez
Vasquez, Salvador, 29, of Dade City, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at home. A native of Jalisco, Mexico, he moved to this area in 1993. He was employed by West Star Construction Company. Survivors include his children, Maribi Vasquez and Salvador Vasquez, Jr.; 3 brothers; and six sisters including Carmen Diaz and Lurdes Vasquez, both of Dade City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006. Burial will be in Mexico.
Neala G. Cooper
COOPER, Neala G., 88, of Richland, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Zephyr Haven Nursing Home in Zephyrhills. Born in Pasco County, she lived her entire life in this area. She was a retired sectionizer for Kraft Foods. Survivors include three children, Fred Wayne Cooper, Carolyn Cook and her husband, John, and Ray E. Cooper, all of Richland; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George and by a son, Ralph E. Cooper of Bradley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5th Street Chapel, from 10-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 with the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery.
Delora I. Barnhart
Barnhart, Delora I., 85, of Dunedin, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in Dunedin. Delora was born June 6, 1921 in Harriman, TN, and moved to the Dunedin area 5 years ago from Blountville, TN. She leaves behind many friends and family including her son: Harold Bivens, St. Petersburg, FL; and her daughter & son-in-law: Helen & Russell Kirton, Dunedin, FL. Memorial services will be held 10am Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Rosalie Manor, 534 Howell Street in Dunedin. Delora’s family would like to thank the staff at Rosalie Manor and Manor Care of Dunedin for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Delora’s memory to Alzheimer’s Research.
Howard Arthur Guth
Guth, Howard Arthur, 85, of Dade City, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. A native of Temperance, Michigan, he retired as the Manager for the Railroad Retirement Board in 1975 and moved to this area in 1976. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He was an avid golfer, horseshoe player, and played both baseball and football in his youth. He was a member of the WBCCI Caravan Club and attended the Traveler’s Rest Church. He loved to travel and was a member of the Traveler’s Rest Motorcycle Club, the “Road Riders”. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Evelyn; two daughters, Cheryl Novak and her husband, Lawrence of Brownstown, MI and Candace Moreno and her husband, Joseph of Commerce Township, MI; a brother, Robert Guth and his wife, Elizabeth of Dublin, Ireland; four grandchildren, Denise Berecz and her husband, Richard of West Bloomfield, MI, Donald Bryans and his wife, Veronica of Allen Park, MI, Joseph T. Moreno and James Allen Moreno, both of Commerce Township; three great grandchildren, Ronnie, Roy, and Drake Bryans, all of Allen Park; and two sister’s-in-law, Kathryn Mayers of Phoenix, AR and Lucy Ann Auth of Grand Rapids, MI. Funeral services will be held in Allen Park, Michigan on July 11, 2006. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson, FL 34667.
Walter J. Micholske
Micholski, Walter J., 83, of Zephyrhills left this life on June 30, 2006. Mr. Micholski was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania to parents Dominic and Julia Micholski on January 27, 1923. Mr. Micholski was a veteran of the United States Army and loved by all who knew him. He attended St. Josephs Catholic Church in Zephyrhills. Mr. Micholski is survived by his two sisters Helen Platko of Bradford, Pennsylvania and Anne Roberts of Zephyrhills. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Hodges Family Funeral Home and services will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
