Jess Russell
Russell, Jess, 85 of Brooksville left this life on June 22, 2006. Mr. Russell was born in Moreland, Kentucky to parents Jess and Anna Russell. Mr. Russell considered himself a native of Ft. Wayne, IN, he then moved to Brooksville where he has resided for the past 20 years. He is a veteran of World War II where he earned many service medals and he retired from International Harvester in June of 1981. Mr. Russell was a Range Officer and Vice President of the Dade City Gun Club. He is survived by his son Ronald (Loretta) Russell of Fort Wayne IN; daughter, Sandra (Ron) Reiling of Fort Wayne; daughter Barbara (Ken) Klaeha of St. Petersburg; son, Jack (Penny) Russell of New Haven, IN; daughter Jill (Larry) Banks, of Fort Wayne, IN; 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. A gathering for Mr. Russell will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2006 from 12:00-1:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 1:00pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City).

Janet A. Wagner
WAGNER, Janet A., nee Spring, 61 of Land O'Lakes, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City Florida. A native of Philadelphia, PA, she moved to this area in 2003. She was a former secretary for the library at Ithan Elementary School and graduate of Radnor High school 1963. After her children were born, she became a full time homemaker. She was a member of Grace Church in Inver Grove Heights, MN and will be known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Galen; two daughters, Michelle DeNicola and her husband, Robert of Wayne, PA and Cassandra Wagner of Land O'Lakes FL; a brother, Charles Spring of New Mexico; and three grandchildren, Alexa, Gregory, and Samantha DeNicola, all of Wayne, PA. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Radnor, PA.

Marie Beavers Womack
Womack, Marie Beavers, 98, Zephyrhills Fl. Passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Marie started her life in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 12, 1907. In her earlier life she traveled in show business and participated in vaudeville plays and entertainment. She then moved to Nashville Tennessee where she met and married businessman, Thomas H.Womack.Jr.. Marie was a homemaker and enjoyed playing golf, as well as entertaining friends and family. Marie also was a volunteer for a mental health facility in Nashville where she received recognition for her accomplishments. In her 90’s Marie was a hospice volunteer for Odyssey Healthcare in Nashville and also an actress in a drama club .Marie was a member of the United Methodist Church. Marie moved to Florida to live with her Granddaughter, Allison Andujar, 4 years ago. She enjoyed good health most of her life until a recent illness. Part of Marie’s great joy in life was her loving family which included 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Marie also is survived by her pets, Oscar, Jett and Bella. She is preceded by her husband, Thomas H. Womack Jr., and her 2 daughters, Mariellen Murphy and Betty Savage. We will all miss her very much.

Florence L. Oswald
Oswald, Florence L., 81, of Zephyrhills, passed away on Saturday, June 24th, 2006 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She moved to Zephyrhills in 1982. She was a National Arts and Crafts Teacher and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kenneth; three sons, Glenn Davis, Manitou, MI; Robert Davis of Adrian, MI; and Richard Davis of Sand Creek, MI; a step daughter Peggy Oswald of Jackson, MI; a sister Margaret Kungelman of Gregory, MI; 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home (Hwy 54 west chapel) on Wednesday, June 28 at 2:00pm, with Reverend Norman Springer officiating.

Martin F. McCoy
McCoy, Martin F., 71, of Land O’Lakes, FL, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born July 2, 1934 in Union Beach, NJ, to Joseph McCoy & Margaret Tierney McCoy, and moved to the Land O’Lakes area 4 months ago from Tampa, FL. He worked for J & R Co-op in Tampa for the last 10 years, was an E.M.S. volunteer in Matawan, NJ, and a member of the Roofing Union. He is survived by his wife: Dolores McCoy, Land O’Lakes, FL; 4 children: Debbie Hardy, Tampa, FL, Martin McCoy Jr., North Vernon, IN, Sharon Goggins, Wesley Chapel, FL, Kevin McCoy, Wesley Chapel, FL; 9 grandchildren: Kelly Figueroa, Christina Bivens, Regina Tolsma, Joseph Tolsma, Ryan McCoy, Eric Teuchtler, Maggie McCoy, Brian Teuchtler, Mitch McCoy; and 2 great grandchildren: Billy Payne and Mikel Payne.

Donald Ray Flanagan
Flanagan, Donald Ray, 61, of Dade City, passed away Thursday morning, June 22, 2006 in Tampa, FL. He was born August 13, 1944 in Coalwood, WV, to Clayton & Joye Lineberry Flanagan, and moved to this area 39 years ago from Virginia. Donald had a never tiring dedication to Mechanical Construction Services Inc. (MCS), and the industry that MCS served. Donald is survived by his wife Judy; his daughter: Regina & Bill DeTellem; his son: Clay & Carrie Flanagan; all of Dade City; his mother: Joye Flanagan, his brother: Michael Flanagan; his sisters: Nancy Pierce; and 4 grandchildren: Derick, Kendra, Gage, and Zachary. Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Dade City. Friends may call one hour prior to service time (from 1-2pm) at the Mausoleum Chapel.

Jeannette A. Lux
Lux, Jeannette A, 88, Zephyrhills, Florida passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006. She was born March 6, 1918 in Easthampton, Mass. and move to Florida in June of 1979. She married Carl in 1940. She was an Office Clerk and enjoyed Betmar Bingo on Monday nights. She is survived by her loving family including her son Carl Lux, Jr; a niece Joanne Baker, Wolfeboro, NH and a nephew, Richard Bernier, Glendale, Arizona. She is preceded by her husband Carl Lux, Sr. in 2002. Arrangements were made by Hodges Family Funeral Home.

Vee Grant Jones
Jones, Venie Belle (Vee) Grant, died quietly on June 20, 2006, at the age of 100, in Tiger, Georgia in her beloved North Georgia mountains. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Vee was the daughter of Thomas Henry Grant and Lilly Irene Grant. After her mother died when Vee was 5 years old, she was raised by her father and, later her stepmother Willie Mae Grant. Vee graduated from Girl’s High in Atlanta and from Agnes Scott College. While working in Atlanta, she met William Wardlaw Jones from Thomasville, GA who was a student at Emory Medical School in Atlanta. Vee continued to work as a lab assistant at Grady Hospital while Wardlaw completed his medical internship there. Vee and Wardlaw were married in Atlanta in 1932. They moved to Dade City, Florida where Wardlaw practiced medicine for most of his life. He was a loving country doctor that cared for people from all walks of life in Pasco County. His black leather medical bag was always with him, and house calls were routine. In addition to caring for her children, Bill, Nancy and Melinda, Vee was active in the First Methodist Church, was a charter member of the Hollyhock Circle of the Dade City Garden Club, and was a member of the Woman’s Club. Vee is pre-deceased by her husband Wardlaw. She is survived by her sister Polly Dean of Highlands, NC, her son Bill Jones and his wife Connie of Dade City, her daughter Nancy Osterhoudt and her husband Bill of Hickory NC, and her daughter Melinda Bessenger and her husband Frank of Dade City. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chuck Jones (Connie), Dahlonega, GA; Tommy Jones (Nancy), Wexford, PA; Cindy Yambor (Mark),Connelly Springs, NC ; Cathy Higgs (Lawrence),Taylorsville, NC; Caron Simpson (Greg), Conover, NC; William Osterhoudt, Jr. (Tammy),Key West, FL; Nick Osterhoudt (Alecia), Conover NC; Connie Cyr (Mike),Key West, FL ; Mary Wynn Seiter (Joe), Ridgewood, NJ; Les Bessenger (Sandy), Woodstock, GA; LTC Reid Bessenger USMC, Fredericksburg, VA; Chris Jones (Krista), Dade City and Courtney Jones, Dade City. Lastly, she is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel in Dade City on Sunday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vee Jones may be made to the Altar Guild of the First United Methodist Church of Dade City, 37628 Church Ave, Dade City, FL 33525.
