Longworth, Gail Sawyer, 61, of Dade City, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She was born July 19, 1944 in Goshen, New York, the daughter of J. Gordon and Marguerite Green Sawyer. She had lived in Texarkana, Texas for 20 years, prior to moving to Dade City in 1999. She was a member of Ajamoore Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She was member of Williams Memorial Church and very active in Caddo Area Boy Scout Council in Texarkana for several years. She is survived by her husband Robert A. Longworth; her son, Chad Longworth of Tyler, TX; her daughter, Cheri Longworth of Houston; her twin brother Gordon R. Sawyer of Stoughton, Mass. and six grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday and 4 to 5 pm Tuesday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel, Dade City. Services will be 5 pm Tuesday at Hodges Family Funeral Home with Rev. Chester officiating. Gall, George Earl, 91, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland. He was born April 15, 1915 in Latrobe, PA, to George M. Gall and Mary Rebar Gall. He was retired from the trucking industry and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Lakeland. He is survived by his son: George D. & Nancy Gall, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; his daughter: Marilynn & Charles Meredith, Lakeland, FL; 3 grandsons: David & Holly Gall, Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Robert & Catherine Gall, Orlando, FL, Bryan Gall, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 2 granddaughters: Michelle & Chris Tolbert, Fresno, CA, Cheryl & Jerry Toombs, Lakeland, FL; and 3 great grandchildren: Christian George Gall, Trinity Tolbert, and Caitlyn Toombs. A memorial service will be held 11am, Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Lakeland with Rev. Paul E. Hauenstein officiating. Mildred E. Shropshire
Shropshire, Mildred E., 84, of Ridge Manor, FL, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2006 in Dade City. She was born March 13, 1922 in Bridgeton, NJ, to Benjamin DeMaris and Viola Woodruff DeMaris, and moved to this area 19 years ago from Cedarville, NJ. She was a retired public school teacher and held memberships with both the NJEA and the NEA. Before moving to Florida, she was the choir director for the Newport Methodist Church in Newport, NJ. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dade City where she taught Sunday School for several years and sang in the choir. She is survived by her husband of 63 years: William L. Shropshire, Ridge Manor, FL; her son: William L. & Mary Shropshire, Vineland, NJ; her daughter: Carol & Stanley Rogers, Roxboro, NC; and 4 grandchildren: William L. Shropshire III, Amy Shropshire, Rachelle R. Wilson, and Steven Rogers. Interment services will take place in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to either the LoveJoy Class or the music program at First Baptist Church in Dade City, 37511 Church Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.

Thomas, Helen G., 94, of Dade City, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 08, 2006 at her home. She was born June 30, 1911 in Hazelhurst, Georgia the daughter of Sanders W. and Georgie Hawkins Wright. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, George N. Powell and Shelbie L. Thomas. She is survived by daughter: Mary Louise Stewart of Jacksonville; step daughters: Bessie Hornstein of Jacksonville, Barbara Farmer of Tarrytown, and June Montgomery of Altha Florida. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She lived in Dade City since 1971 and had lived previously in Tarrytown. She was a longtime member of Linden Church of God, Linden. Services will be 11 am Monday, June 12 at Linden Church of God, Linden with Pastors Lanny Troller and Terry Langford officiating. Burial will follow in Linden Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 pm Sunday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 5th St. Chapel, Dade City.
Glen Raymond Finch
Finch, Glen Raymond, 69, of Dade City, FL, and Kinross, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in Dade City, under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born August 26, 1936 in Tomah, WI, to Austin Lee Finch and Juanita Violet Lyman Finch. He was a winter resident of Dade City for 6 years where he attended the First United Methodist Church. He was retired from the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Kinross Historical Society, and was President of the Country Aire Service Corp. in Dade City. He is survived by his wife: June E. Finch, Dade City, FL, and Kinross, MI; 1 daughter: Kathy & Steve Rumsey, Calhoun, GA; 1 step-daughter: Debbie Brewster, Kinross, MI; 1 step-son: Marc A. & Sonomi Douglas, Great Falls, MT; 1 brother: Lee & Shirley Finch, Alma Center, WI.; 2 sisters: Kay Lamphere, Grantsburg, WI, Carol & Dave Bond, Florence, MA; and 4 grandchildren: Connor, James, Lyndsey, and Rebecca. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Marilyn K. Finch. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Michigan.
Matilda Ann Valot
Valot, Matilda Ann, 83, of Dade City, FL, passed away Monday, June 5, 2006, at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She was born April 27, 1923 in Niles, Ohio to John Long and Pauline Serbu Long. She first came to the Zephyrhills area in 1975 as a winter resident and spent over 20 years living at Baker’s Acres. She worked for several years with the General Electric Headlights Division and was active with home extensions back in Ohio where she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Watts, Dade City, FL; her son: Robert Valot, Warren, OH; her sister: Margaret Estes, Niles, OH; 3 grandchildren: Charles Valot, Warren, OH, Chelsea Renae Valot, Warren, OH, and Brian Dean, Charleston, SC. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Niles, OH.

Goodman, Karen E., 63, of Dade City, FL, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006, at the Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. She was born May 10, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN, to Clarence Bloom and Ellen Ballinger Bloom. She moved to Dade City 23 years ago from Tampa, FL, and was a retired financial loan officer. She is survived by her husband of 23 years: Phillip C. Goodman, Dade City, FL; 3 daughters: Yvette Ivie, Zephyrhills, FL, Yvonne Vizcarra, Tampa, FL, Suzanne Ivie-Mears, Lutz, FL; 1 brother: Terry Bloom, Murphy, NC; and 3 grandchildren: Whitney Mears, Shelby Mears, and Emily Vizcarra. A memorial service will be held 3pm Friday, June 9, 2006 at the Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel. Irene Alice Keefe
Ms. Irene Alice Keefe, 78, of Zephyrhills left this life on June 3, 2006. Ms. Keefe was born in Chicago, IL on July 11, 1927 to parents Sylvester and Mary Keefe. Ms. Keefe is survived by her brothers Sylvester Keefe of Zephyrhills, and Jim (Carol) Keefe of Harrisburg, IL. She will be missed by her family and her many dear friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 from 6:00 until 9:00pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City) and services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at St. Rita’s Church.
Rae Marie Lawson
Mrs. Rae Marie Lawson, 48, of Brooksville left this life on June 2, 2006. Mrs. Lawson was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on July 3, 1957 to parents Nicolas and Patricia. Mrs. Lawson moved to Brooksville in 1992 from New Jersey. During her life she worked as an Electrician for 21 years, local 1351 IBEW, as well as a legal secretary. She loved to travel, was an avid scuba diver, and loved to cook. Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Community Bible Church of Brooksville. She is survived by her loving husband Darrell, her mother Patricia of Seffner, FL, her daughter Christie Shively of Brandon, and grandson Kayden Shively. She is also survived by her Uncle Earl Clouser Jr. (Rose) of Absecon, NJ and two step-daughters Tiffany and Stacey of New Jersey. Mrs. Lawson will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held for Mrs. Lawson on Tuesday, June 6, at the Community Bible Church in Brooksville, (5041 Griffin Road., Brooksville, FL), with viewing from 11:00am until 12:00pm and a service immediately following.
