Barteck, Jr. Joseph, 59, Zephyrhills, Florida passed away Monday May 29, 2006. He was born July 5, 1946 in Toledo Ohio. He loved his family, golf, gardening and football. He was a Veteran serving in Viet Nam in the U. S. Navy. Joe attended the Church of the Incarnation. He is survived by his loving family including his wife Laura Ellen Barteck, one daughter Christiane Renee Barteck and (Derek), one son Christopher Joseph Barteck, two sisters, Ada (James) Cahill and Nancy (Fred) Balogh, Laura’s brothers, Mark (Pam) Brown and David (Sue) Brown, 7 nieces and 8 nephews, 2 dogs, Pepper and Rocko and one cat, Cuddly. He will be missed by all. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Hwy 54 in Zephyrhills. A service will follow at 7:00 PM. Father George Rozycki from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Ivan Lewis Murray
Murray, Ivan Lewis, 83, Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away May 26, 2006. He was born June 29, 1922 in Wing, IL. He moved to Florida in 1971 and to Zephyrhills in 1987. He was Diesel Mechanic. Ivan was a member of First Methodist Church. He was a veteran in the US Army serving in World War II and also in the Pacific Theatre. He belonged to Veterans of foreign Wars, Moose Lodge and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Barbara Murray, two daughters, Debbie Krusch, Medesta, CA and Marsha Matson, Muncie, IN, two step-sons, Paul Bartels of Zephyrhills, and Robert Bartels, TN, one brother, Otis Murray, Union Grove, AL, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday, June 2, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on 54. A Service will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at Oak Hill Park in Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice. Rev. James Owens will officiate.
Madolyn Buell
BUELL, Madolyn, 89, of Dade City, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Heartland of Zephyrhills after a brief illness. She was born in Kingman, Maine to Ross and Esther DeLaite. She graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Massachusetts and attended secretarial school before her marriage to Robert E. Buell. They were married for fifty five years. Madolyn loved gardening and volunteer work. She survived in these activities throughout her life. She is survived by her son Robert DeLaite Buell and daughter Judith Ann Kouchoukos, son-in-law Dr. Nicholas T. Kouchoukos, and Christine Anderson. Grandsons, Dr. Nicholas Thomas Kouchoukos, Jr., Robert Buell Kouchoukos, Robert DeLaite Buell, Jr., and Thomas Paul Kouchoukos and four great grand children, Nicholas Thomas Kouchoukos II, Katherine Demas Kouchoukos, Analiese Lauren Buell, Alexander Basil Kouchoukos, Brothers, Ross DeLaite (Sherrill), Douglas DeLaite, Sisters, Audrey Ansley, and Grace Moores (Walter). Burial will be at the Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton, Missouri. Memorials in Madolyn’s name will be appreciated at Hernando Pasco Hospice, 37445 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, Florida, 33525.
Harry Reaser
Reaser, Harry, 72 years, of Dade City, formerly of Danbury, Ct. passed away Monday, May 29, 2006 at his home. He was born June 10, 1933 in Teaneck, New Jersey the son of Arnulf and Ethel Reaser. He has lived in Dade City the last 9 years moving from Danbury, Ct. He was a retired Railroad Electrician and member of IBEW Local, Danbury, Ct for 44 years. He married Theodora “Teddy” Sakellares on Oct. 24, 1967 in Danbury, Ct. He is survived by his loving wife Teddy of 38 years; his children: Thomas (Tracey) Pinckney of Seminole, Florida; William Reaser; Susan Reaser of Miami; Donna Reaser of Richmond VA; Sarah (Daniel) Babbino of Danbury, CT and Candace (Michael) Cosgrove of Danbury Ct; his brother: Clifford Reaser of Laurel, Delaware; his sister, Marilyn Thiel of New Jersey; his grandchildren: Thomas, Michael, Eric, Michael and Olivia. He was member of Travelers Rest Firefighters and First Responder; Korean War Navy Veteran. A private family service was held.
Wilma Jacobsen
Jacobsen, Wilma, 86, Zephyrhills, Florida passed away May 25, 2006. She was born February 10, 1920. She and her husband moved to Florida in 1978 where they resided at Ralph’s Trailer Park. Wilma had been part of coffee hour at Ralph’s for over 22 years. She was also the secretary for five years for Illinois “Indiana Day” which was always held at Bakers Acres. When her health began in fail 3 years ago she became a resident of Sunbelt Nursing Home in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her loving family, including her son Jim (Hedy) Jacobsen, Edgewater, FL., two daughters, Nancy Harrigan, Zephyrhills and Brenda Stump, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren, one brother, Ray Overman, KY, and one sister, Louise Murphy, Marion, IN and two stepsons. She is preceded by her husband John Jacobsen in 1990 and one daughter Julia Stover. She will have a visitation at Hodges Family Funeral Home on 54 on Tuesday at 1:00 – 3:00 PM Wilma will be flown to Indiana. She will be missed by all….
Abraham Slutsky
Slutsky, Abraham, 85 of Oak Royal III, Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 at his home. He has lived in Florida the last 21 years moving from Lake Hiawatha, NJ. He was born March 3, 1921 in Fall River, Mass., the son of Morris and Bessie Genen Slutsky. He was a quality control engineer for electronics. He was past president of the Kidney Foundation, member of Lake Hiawatha Jewish Center, was a scout leader in boy scouts and was know for his plants, especially his topiary and bonsai. He married Ruth Frankel on March 14, 1948 in Bronx, NY. She survives along with his daughter, Susan Slutsky of Tampa, his son, Paul Slutsky of Fort Lauderdale; his granddaughter, Alana Slutsky of Coral Springs, his sister, Sally Novice of Margate, his brother, Sam Slutsky of Brooklyn, NY , many nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside will be 1:30 am Tuesday, May 30 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. The family requests no flowers, but suggests memorial contributions to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
Bill Weir
William (Bill) Edward Weir. Nov. 24, 1929 to May 22, 2006. Formerly of Detroit, MI, resided in Zephyrhills, FL since 1980. Beloved husband to Earline and generous father of Mike, Cathy, Tom, Kim, Michael, David, Paul, Chris, and William II. Grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 3. Bill was a second generation builder born and raised in Michigan before moving to Florida and continuing his involvement in real estate and manufactured housing. Bill attended Michigan State University where he was a brother in the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He was a veteran of the Korean War, Shriner, Mason and American Legion member. Bill was an avid sports fan and music lover. Above all, there was tailgating for Tampa Bay Buccaneer football games. It was his passion and a delight for Bill and for all who joined him on a Sunday afternoon. His generosity, gregarious personality and loving nature will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Bill celebrated his life at his 75th birthday party. Per his request, there will be no formal funeral service.

DIERDORFF, BONNIE A., age 74 of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away from an extended illness on May 25, 2006, at the Zephyr Haven Nursing Home. She was pre-deceased by her father, Dale Willits, and her mother, Verna Lucille Schlink. She is survived by her husband, Ivan Dierdorff; her daughter, Deborah Buskirk and husband James, LeClaire, Iowa; her son, Timothy Dierdorff and wife Karol, Rocky Mount, North Carolina; her granddaughter Michele Hoxsey and husband Phillip, LeClaire, Iowa; her granddaughter Mindy Taylor and significant other Joel Fullmer, LeClaire, Iowa; her granddaughter Megan Shaw and husband Jeremy, Lutz, Florida; her sister Betty Curtis, Macomb, Illinois; her brother Robert Willits and wife Cheryl, Bettendorf, Iowa; her brother James Willits and wife Jan, Dallas, Georgia; her brother Larry and wife Kathy, Muscatine, Iowa; and great-grandchildren Hope, Calvin, Donivan, and Jasmyne, all of LeClaire, Iowa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She lived her life with compassion, love, and courage. She will be missed by so many but never forgotten. Bonnie was born to Robert Willets and Lucille (Boiler) Willits-Schlink in Sweetland, Iowa, on February 19, 1932. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, then entered the nursing program at St. Luke’s Hospital (now Genesis East) in Davenport, Iowa. She was a registered nurse that worked at St. Luke’s Hospital; Annie Wittenmeyer Home, Davenport, Iowa; LeClaire Medical Clinic for Dr. Hannum and Dr. Mehl; and Pleasant Valley School District as a school nurse. She taught classes in drug administration at Scott Community College. Bonnie married Ivan Dierdorff on May 10, 1953, in Muscatine, Iowa. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa, and after moving to Zephyrhills a member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Zephyrhills, Florida. Bonnie and Ivan moved to Zephyrhills from LeClaire, Iowa, in 1997. Bonnie’s hobbies included visiting with family and friends; traveling; collecting hummingbirds, bells, and angels; reading; and doing whatever Ivan told her to do. Viewing will be held on May 30, 2006 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hodges Funeral Home located at 36327 Hwy. 54 West,Zephyrhills, Florida. Funeral services will be held on May 31, 2006 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with lunch to follow services at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 5855 16th Street, Zephyrhills, Florida . Wini Corkhill
Corkhill, Winifred Davis, 52, of Dade City, FL, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1953 in East Liverpool, OH, to Fred Davis and Patricia Louise Pitts. She graduated in 1975 from U.S.F. and received her Master’s Degree in 1998. She moved to Dade City 33 years ago from Winter Gardens and was a charter member of the Dade City Christian Church. She was awarded Teacher of the Year twice while at Zephyrhills High School and Pasco Middle School. She is survived by her husband: Richard Corkhill, Dade City, FL; 4 sons: Roger H. White, Tampa, FL, Travis F. White, Dade City, FL, Taylor Patrick Corkhill, Dade City, FL, Dustin Corkhill, Leesburg, FL; her mother: Patricia French, Clermont, FL; 1 brother: Daniel H. Davis, Clermont, FL; and 1 granddaughter: Sierra White, Tampa, FL. Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Pasco Middle School Auditorium with Pastor Brian Wooley and Pastor M. Ralph Fisher officiating.
