Browning, Gloria J., 70, of Dade City, died July 26, 2001 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. A native of West Virginia, she moved to this area in 1997 from Sacramento. She was a retired school teacher and was an active resident of the Edwinola.
Survivors include a daughter, Katharine Holland of San Francisco; three sons, Julian Browning of Dade City, Jonathan Browning of Brooksville and Robert G. White of Seattle; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Monday, July 30, 2001. The family received friends at the funeral home from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday Afternoon, July 29, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
James Osteen
Osteen, James C., 51, passed away July 25, 2001 at Hospice of Pasco, due to a brain tumor. His girlfriend, Beulah Fisher, was at his bedside. He grew up in Brandon and worked for Cargil for 25+ years.
He is survived by his parents, Clayton and Pauline Osteen of Lakeland; his daughter, Tammy Selman of Brooksville; his sisters, Ilona Hughes of Palmetto, Sharon Bostick of Plant City, Katie lamb and her husband, BG, of Kathleen; granddaughters Ciara and Jenna Selman; his ex-wives, Jeanette Owens and Linda Vaillancourt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rickey.
The family received friends on July 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and funeral services were held on July 28 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Walding officiating. The pallbearers were Ron Selman, Billy Joe & James Cook, Cecil and Clayton “Corky” Bostick, Marco Gonzalez, Buddy Appin and Rick Parsons.
Robert Hart
Hart, Robert, 75, of Zephyrhills, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 at East Pasco Medical Center. A native of New Hampshire, he moved here in 1991 from Keene, NH and was a retired foreman for a printing machine manufacturer and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion was a volunteer at East Pasco Medical Center. He was an avid Yankee Fan and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Gardenia; a son, Darryl Hart of Ft. Myers; two daughters, Kathleen Hart and Diane Richards, both of Canton, NC; four brothers, Marshall of W. Palm Beach, Rodney of Zephyrhills, Sidney of Nashville, TN and David of Himsdale, NH; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son. Scott M. Hart and a sister, Margaret Parkinson.
Funeral Services were held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Raymond McCall
McCall, Raymond, 60, of Lacoochee, died Wednesday, July 18th, 2001 at home. A native of Brewton, FL, he moved to this area in 1968 from North Florida. He was a farmer and a forklift operator and was Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Joe McCall of Lacoochee and Donald Ray McCall of Ridge Manor; a sister, Flossie Graves of Brewton, FL; and one grandchild, Dillon McCall of Ridge Manor.
Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Monday, July 23rd, 2001. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
"Woody" Blackwood
Blackwood, James W. "Woody", 66, of Dade City, died Sunday, July 15, 2001 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. A native of Birmingham, AL he moved to Dade City in 1966 from Lakeland. He was a antique furniture restorer, a US Army Veteran and was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sally; two daughters, Mary Ann Blackwood of Dade City and Glenda Jeter of Bradenton Beach; and a cousin, Robert Robertson of Oshkosh, WI.
A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2001 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Lewis Tanno officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33541
Eugene L. Liles
Liles, Eugene L., 77, of Dade City, died July 12th, 2001 at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. A native of Winter Garden, he was a long-time resident of this area. He was a retired dispatcher for Withlacoochee Electric Company and was Protestant. He was a member of the Trilby Masonic Lodge #141.
Survivors include a brother, Chester Liles of Dade City.
Funeral services were held graveside at Trilby Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16th, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pioneer Florida Museum.
Pamela Woodard
Pamela Woodard, 46, of San Antonio, died Thursday, July 12th 2001 at Hospice of Pasco in Dade City. A native of Philadelphia, she moved to this area in 1957. She was a physician’s assistant and was Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Ryan Woodard, of San Antonio; her mother and stepfather, Ruth and John E. Curtis of Dade City; two brothers, Lloyd E. Messer, Jr. and his family of Cairo, GA and Matthew Mark Messer and his family of Tampa. Her father, Lloyd E. Messer, preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14th, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Pasco.
Harry Wadsworth Morgan
Harry Wadsworth Morgan, 80, of Zephyrhills, died Monday, July 9th, 2001 at James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa. A native of Roselle Park, NJ he was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a retired metal worker.
Survivors include a son, Ray Morgan of New Jersey; three daughters, Linda Leopold of Texas, Carol Nadilo of Zephyrhills and Kathy Starnes of St. Petersburg; a brother, John Morgan of New Jersey; a stepbrother, Robert Schultz; eight grandchildren and five greet grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held at Florida National Cemetery on Friday, July 13th, 2001 a 2:00 PM with Chaplain John Heufel officiating.
Earl Mills
Earl Mills, 59, of Zephyrhills, died Friday, July 6th, 2001 in Zephyrhills. A native of Cincinnati, he was a long distance truck driver and was Baptist.
Survivors include four sons, Earl Mills of Zephyrhills, James Mills and Timothy Mills, both of Walton, KY and Richard Mills of Norwood, Ohio; a brother, Nelson Mills of Oceanside, CA; a sister, Maria Carlton of North Bend, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
