She was a Catholic and loved her family. She is survived by her loving family including her daughters Tina (Bruce) Bigelow, Zephyrhills, FL, Toni (Charles) Haley, Naples, FL and Long Island, NY and Jeri Ruth, Coral Springs, FL, Sisters, Tina Gulino, Palenville, NY and Ann Guarino, Howard Beach, NY; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, Joseph and Nancy Corso, husband Lawrence and son Lyman III, and brothers Frank and Joseph Corso. She will be missed.
Sally M. Messer
Messer, Sally M., 89, of Dade City, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Heritage Park Nursing Care Center. A Native of Front Royal, Virginia, she moved to this area in 1979 from Oxon Hill, Maryland. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dade City Church of God. Survivors include a son, George Wines and his wife, Joan Bryant Wines; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15th, 2006. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.
George T. Carle
Carle, George T., 75, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Thursday morning, May 11, 2006 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born March 6, 1931 in Meriden, CT, to George Carle and Mildred Alberta Taylor. He was a Machine Operator for Pratt & Whitney and was a US Air Force Veteran. Graveside services will be held 2pm Monday, May 15, 2006 at Floral Memory Gardens in Dade City. Cathryne Virginia Causey
CAUSEY, Cathryne Virginia, 73, of Trilacoochee, passed away March 8, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. She was born July 14, 1932 in Sardis, Alabama. She moved to Florida in 1942 and lived in Lacoochee and Trilacoochee. She attended Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Lacoochee. She was a loving mother, grandmother and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Laroy Causey and her parents, George and Claudia Owens. She is survived by her two children, Duane Causey (Joy) of Dade City and Joyce Breeden (Garry) of Bushnell; six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the funeral home, Hwy 301 Chapel. The funeral will be a graveside service at Clay Sink Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006 with Pastor Marvin Strickland officiating. Cleveland Jessie Green, 71 years, of Dade City, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006. He was born March 14, 1934 in McKenzie, Alabama, the son of Willis and Bertha Barnes Green.He has resided in Florida for most of his life. He was a Christian, was an air conditioner technician and loved to garden. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Hooper Green; his daughter, Karen Green of Dade City; his sisters, Annette Bryum, of Dade City and Merle Tindell of Wesley Chapel; a brother, Robert Green of Dade City; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial gathering and refreshments at 2 pm., Saturday, March 11 at the Harmony Heights Club House, Dade City.
Richard John LaBarge
Richard John LaBarge, 66 years, of Dade City, Florida and formerly of Chase Mills, NY. Mr. LaBarge died unexpectedly Thursday, February 26, 2006 at this home in Many Mansions RV Park, Dade City, where they had resided for the winter months. He was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Potsdam, NY. Mr. LaBarge was a member of Teamsters Local #687, Potsdam. The things he loved the most were the Gulf of Mexico, setting and relaxing with his wife and family and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Ann LaBarge and three stepchildren and their families:Betty Jo Jenkin of Massena, NY, Douglas Goad of Winthrop, NY and Gerald Cootward, Jr., of Winthrop, NY; eight daughters and many grandchildren and their families. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Ellen and Catherine LaBarge, his parents Joseph and Mary Cotter LaBarge. A small family memorial service was held by his wife and family at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City.
Eleanor E. "Lee" Giddens
GIDDENS, Eleanor E. “Lee”, 79, of Dade City, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. A native of Garfield, New Jersey, she moved to this area in 1991 from Miami after her husband’s retirement. A loving wife, mother, grandmother “Nana”, and friend, she will be missed by all those who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” Giddens; a daughter, Peggy Capps and her husband, Vann of Ridge Manor; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Capps of Ridge Manor and Jeffrey Capps and his wife, Susie of St. Cloud. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on March 9, 2006 (Today) at the funeral home, 5th Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2006 with her grandson, Jeffrey officiating. Burial will follow at Florida Nation Cemetery. Torres, Pedro, Jr, Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away March 2, 2006. He was the youngest child born to Pedro and Betsaida Torres and brother to Nancy, Samuel, Gabriel, David and Damaris. He was born March 28, 1977 in Lares, Puerto Rico. The family moved to Miami, Florida in 1977 where he graduated from Miami Jackson Sr. High in 1996. Pedro was a devoted son and brother. He gave his heart and soul for those he loved. Pilkington, Florence Annetta, 78, Zephyrhills, Florida died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. She was born October 21, 1927 in Ypsilanti, Michigan the daughter of Oren and Dora Throop. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Zephyrhills and the Women’s Club of Zephyrhills. Florence loved singing, gospel and country music, her computer and traveling (especially cruises) and cooking. Her family was very important to her. She is survived by her loving family including her husband Albert Pilkington, married for 60 years, three sons; Albert (Sharon) Pilkington, Dennis (Song) Pilkington, and Phillip (Christine) Pilkington, one daughter, Faye (George) Jones, one adopted daughter, Wendy Cole and 7 grandchildren. A viewing will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 9:00 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 SR 54 West in Zephyrhills. A service will follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Tal Denny will officiate.
Kenneth Elizabeth Strange
Strange, Kenneth Elizabeth, 84, left this life on August 4, 2006. Mrs. Strange was born on May 27, 1922 in Pinewood, South Carolina to her parents, the late Benjamin and Leonora Barwick. Mrs. Strange was reared in South Carolina and moved to Tampa in 1946 with her beloved husband Clifford Strange, whom she now joins in heaven. Mrs. Strange is survived by her brother B.T. (Bo) Barwick, Jr. and a sister Ernestine Barwick Yates of Sumter, South Carolina; her son, James Clifford (wife Shirley) Strange II; daughters, Gloria Schumacher and Dolores Ann (husband Larry) Steinberg of Dade City, Fla. Mrs. Strange is also survived by her loving grandchildren Crystal, Larry Jay, Michael, Tammy, David, James III, Julia, and Joy Lynn, and her Great–Grandchildren Vanessa, Andrew, Stephen, and Blase. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2006, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301) in Dade City, Florida, and a service will be held on Thursday August 10, at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating.
Jimmy T. Bradley
Bradley, Jimmy T., 59, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2006 in Tampa, FL. He was born November 14, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana, to Raymond H. Bradley and Elsie V. Hammons Bradley. He lived in San Antonio, FL, for 28 years before moving to Zephyrhills just 2 ˝ years ago. He was a carpenter, and a member of the VFW Post # 4283 and the AmVets Post # 16. He was a Baptist, and had worked for a short time at the First Baptist Church in Dade City. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Bradley, Zephyrhills, FL; 2 sons: Dan & Nicki Bradley, South Bend, Indiana, Todd & Julie Bradley, Mishawaka, Indiana; 6 grandchildren: Derek, McKenzie, Taylor, Tyler, Troy, and Tanner; his mother: Elsie Bradley, South Bend, Indiana; his mother-in-law: Martha Tamandli, Dade City, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and good friends. Graveside services will be held 11am Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends may call from 9-10am Wednesday morning at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 chapel. Agnes Mary Elizabeth Nathe Burke
Burke, Agnes Mary Elizabeth Nathe, 90, of San Antonio, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Gulfside Regional Hospice in Dade City. A native and life-long resident of the St. Antonio area, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Burke and her husband, Bruce Calvert of San Antonio, Mary Forster and her husband, Jeff of Florence, South Carolina and Winifred Burke of San Antonio; Ten Grandchildren; and Ten Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edward Burke and by two sons, Edward and Patrick Burke. The family will receive friends on Monday (Today) August 7, 2006 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service starting at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Henry Riffle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund or to Gulfside Regional Hospice.
