Parker, Bettie J., 70, of Zephyrhills left this life on October 13, 2006 following a prolonged illness. Mrs. Parker was born August 24, 1936 in Randolph, Vermont to parents Pearl and Florence Laskey. She goes to join in heaven, her loving husband Gerald Lou Parker, grandson Joshua Gerald, one sister and two brothers. She leaves behind her daughters Theresa (Aime Theroux) Sohngens, of Westminster, VT, Diana E. (David) Richardson, of Drewsville, NH, Brenda J. (Marwin) Deyo of Crownpoint, NY, a son Gerald R. (Pamela) Parker of Zephyrhills, FL, her beloved sisters Katherine M. Tole of Terryville, CT, and Judith Ann Bemis of Athens, VT. She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law and her husband, Arlene and Jan Chrostows, nieces Maureen (Brent) Preston and Jerri Lynn Peck and 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was very active with her special friends in her park. A memorial service afternoon social get together was held at Hi-N-Dri Mobile Home Park in the club house at 2:00pm on Sunday October 15, 2006. Gary Pennington
Pennington, Gary, 60, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away suddenly Thursday October 12, 2006 in Sanford, N.C. Gary was born in Wytheville, Virginia and came to Dade City, Fla., at an early age where he spent most of his life. He was a Sergeant in the Air Force from 1965 thru 1969 of which 18 months was served in the Panama Canal Zone. Gary was presently a Long Distance Truck Driver with Twiss Transport of Largo, Fla. He was predeceased by his Father, Albert (Buzz) Pennington. Gary is the loving son of Hope Pennington of Dade City Fla., and will be missed dearly by his wife Cindy. Survivors also include his daughter Melissa (Joe) Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio; a son Michael Pennington of the Virgin Islands; a step-son Michael (Andrea) Viens of Dallas Texas; step-daughters Linda Dugger, Tonya Brobst and Priscilla Branch all of Jacksonville, Florida; four brothers, M.H. (Verna) Pennington of Dade City, Fla., Albert (Pauline) Pennington of Sanford, N.C., Kenneth (Earlene) Pennington of Plant City, Fla., and Darrell (Patricia) Pennington of Dade City, Fla.; three sisters, Rhonda (Larry) Duncan, Beverly (Gary) Fullington of Dade City, Fla., and Christine (Ted) Seaman of Forsyth, Ga.; 10 Grandchildren; and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Gary was a good loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and will be missed by all his family. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the funeral home, 5th Street Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2006 with Rev. Harold Fisher officiating. Burial followed at Florida National Cemetery.
Estelle B. McJunkin
McJunkin, Estelle B., 87, of Dade City, FL, passed away Thursday morning, October 12, 2006 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born April 5, 1919 in Trutlen County, GA, and moved to the Dade City area in 1941 from Tampa. She had worked as a Nurses Aid and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City. She enjoyed her many friendships thru fellowship with the JOY Sunday School Class and the PrimeTimers group. She is survived by 2 daughters: Leada A. Collins, Winter Haven, FL, Mary S. Webb, Dade City, FL; 2 grandchildren: Teresa Austin, Winter Haven, FL, Mark Webb, US Navy, Newport News, VA; 4 great grandchildren: Lindsey Austin, Dakota Byrd, Tristan Webb, Christina Haygood; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 10am Monday, October 16, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel with Pastor Steve Wright officiating. Burial followed at Townsend House Cemetery. Friends called from 5-7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Edwin C. "Ed," Stoetzner
Stoetzner, Edwin C. "Ed," 95, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at home under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Ed was a snowbird to Florida for 18 years before moving to this area in 1997 from Millers Mills, N.Y. Born in Utica, N.Y., he graduated from West Winfield High School and a few years later attended Diesel School in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a retired auto parts manager. He married Martha Nolte July 9, 1935. They had three children, Arthur, Robert and Marjorie. Ed was a 70 year member of Masonic Lodge in West Winfield, N.Y. He was a Grange member for 74 years and was the youngest Grange master at age 17. Ed was the president of the Senior Citizens Association in West Winfield, N.Y. and he was elected Outstanding Senior of the year in 1980 for Herkimer County, N.Y. He was a long time member of the Shine and played trombone in the Shiner's band. Ed was a volunteer fireman for the City of Cedarville, N.Y., He was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Millers Mills, and an associate member of the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills and was also as associate member at the First Community Church of Dade City. Ed was very active in his church and the community. He was an avid musician and performed at his churches and for many civic organizations. He was predeceased in death by his wife Martha M.; son, Arthur C.; son-in-law, Richard E. Bowering; and great-granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Bowering. Survivors include his children, Marjorie A. Bowering, Robert T. Stoetzner, and daughter-in-law, Jeanne, all of Zephyrhills, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. October 14, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church on Fifth Ave. in Zephyrhills, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Herando-Pasco Hospice Inc. or The Betmar, Chorus.
Deannie Huffman Brumwell
Brumwell, Deannie Huffman, 77, of Dade City, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. A third generation Floridian, she was born July 28, 1929 in Richloam, FL, to N.A. Pless and Mary Green Pless. She was a self employed citrus grove owner and affiliated with the Southern Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Moose Lodge, and was past president of the Elkettes. She is survived by her husband: Vearl F. Brumwell; 3 sons: Robert A. Huffman, Larry G. & Amalia R. Huffman, Garry R. & Sandra A. Huffman, all of Dade City, FL; grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Hiscock, Cristina M. Huffman, Larry A. Huffman, Ashley M. Huffman, Megan L. Huffman, Duane E. Huffman, Petrina M. Huffman; great grandchildren: William G. Harrison, Hannah H. Hiscock, Seth C. Bolander, Gabriel O. Huffman, Celeste M. Long, Austin J. Beach; and 2 step-daughters: Jannine Wright, West Branch, IA, Andrea Erhart, Solon, IA. Funeral services were held 10am Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel with Pastor Ted Dean officiating. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. Friends called from 6-8pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
Betty Meengs Anders
Anders, Betty Meengs, 79, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 10, 2006. She had lived in Zephyrhills since 1965, coming from Tampa with her family where she was one of the first stenotype court reporters and a homemaker. She helped her former husband, Mel Meengs in the development of Betmar Acres Mobile Home Park and Settlers Rest RV Park. She was a native Floridian, born in Mulberry, FL. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills and past president of Zephyrhills Garden Club. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Anders, Sr., her three children, Johnny Meengs of Zephyrhills, Marta Meengs of Missoula, MT and Melinda and husband, Jim Tapia of Syracuse, NY: and her five grandchildren, Holly and Heidi Meengs, Annalee Finkenbinder, Joshua and Christopher Tapia. She was preceded by her son, Dwight Meengs. She was a woman who loved the Lord and her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks from the family to Ann Marie Leclair and Kelly Ferrania for providing continuous loving care to our wife and mother and allowing her to stay at her home. We will be forever grateful. Funeral service were 1 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills with Pastor Dan Wade officiating. Burial followed at Oakside Cemetery, Zephyrhills. Visitation was 12 noon until service time Saturday.
Sean Gregory McCann
McCann, Sean Gregory, 33, of Zephyrhills, died Monday, October 9, 2006 at home. A native and life long resident of this area, he graduated from Pasco High School in 1991 and entered the National Guard that same year. He was a security officer for Wal-Mart in Dade City and Zephyrhills and most recently for J.C. Penny’s on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Pearlie McCann of Dade City; a brother, Brian Scott McCann of Dade City; his maternal grandmother, Lucy Wright of Zephyrhills; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Russell Morse, Jr.
Morse, Russell Jr., 79, of Dade City, left this life on October 1, 2006 while at his home. Mr. Morse was born on May 1, 2006 to parents Russell and Olga Morse in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Morse was a veteran of World War II and served in both the United States Army and Navy. He moved to Florida in 1968 with his children and beloved wife Claire of 48 years. In life he loved to garden and spend time with his large family. He is survived by his 4 children Russell Morse III, Victor Morse, Rose (Steve) Wilkes, and Jo-Anne (Randy) Wiggins. He also leaves behind 11 loving grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, dear friends David and Dianne Jones, and many other dear friends and family. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Visitation for Mr. Morse was held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City) from 11:00am until 1:00pm, with a service beginning at 1:00pm.

Hill, Terry Lynn, 60, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006 at her home. She was born February 10, 1946 in Terre Haute, IN, to Stanley Cox and Ernestine Pickens Cox. She moved to Zephyrhills 5 years ago from Pinellas County and was a Homemaker. She is survived by 3 children: Lisa Coughlin, Dana, IA, and twins: Leslie Langan, Raleigh, NC, and Wesley A. Hill, Webster, FL; 2 brothers: Homer Cox, Clearwater, FL, John Cox, Marshall, IL; and 9 grandchildren.
Wayne Philip Henry
Henry, Wayne Philip, 68, was born September 19, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away October 6, 2006 in Tampa, Florida. He attended Adelphi University, Long Island, New York and served in the US Army. A retired court reporter, reading and gardening were some of his favorite pastimes. Wayne was dedicated to his family and was the beloved father of Melissa Grace and Margaret Beth. He was the devoted grandfather of James Michael, Andrew Philip, Kaitlyn Ann, Haley Marie Alexia Nicole, Bryce C. and Olivia Renee’. His other survivors include sister, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Richard Samuels. Know as having a keen mind and read wit, “John” Wayne’s social circle included loyal friends, Joyce and Glenn Freeman and Kathleen and Mike Melendez.
