Dorothy Boyd
Boyd, Dorothy, 81, of Zephyrhills left this life on September 4, 2006 while under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. Mrs. Boyd was born on January 7, 1925 to parents John and Julia Frommert in Detroit, Michigan. She will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements were handled by Hodges Family Funeral Home a memorial service will be held in her honor at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, Florida.

Jean Fricano
Fricano, Jean, 68, of Port Charlotte, Florida, went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 4, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Wesley Chapel. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Joseph of the home; her children: Tom French of North Port, Florida, Joe Fricano of Galloway, NY, Tim DeLoise and his wife Donna of Vineland, NY and Barbara Birmingham of Wesley Chapel; and her 2 grandchildren Courtney and Briana Birmingham. A Memorial Service was held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 8, 2006 at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18371 Dale Mabry N, Lutz, Florida with Pastor Al Melton officiating.

Roderick "Rod" Jarvis
Jarvis, Roderick “Rod”, 68 years of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 9, 1938 in Barre, Vermont. He has lived in Zephyrhills the last 15 years, moving from Manchester New Hampshire. He was a retired machinist having worked for Disogrin Industries in Manchester for 22 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zephyrhills, and ushered at the church and was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patricia Jarvis; his sons, Alan, Wayne and Randy Jarvis; his stepchildren, Jim Leary, Brenda Swafford and Sharon Hunley; his “adopted daughter” and niece, Peggy deAnda; his sister, Carole Schubert; brothers Herbert Jarvis and Richard Beland ; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Margaret Murray Jarvis. A Memorial Funeral Mass was 10 am. Tuesday, September 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zephyrhills. Interment private.

Earl "Eddie" Mays
Mr. Earl “Eddie” Mays, 81, of Dade City left this life on September 2, 2006 while under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. Mr. Mays was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 26, 1925 to proud parents Arch and Lavada Mays. Mr. Mays was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. Mr. Mays is a long time resident of Zephyrhills, for 35 years, before moving to Dade City, and will be missed by all who knew him. He will be reunited in heaven with his son Jeff Jones, his brother Arvel Mays, and his sister Thelma Sullivan. Mr. Mays leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years Roberta, his daughters Lyne (Robert) Stevens, Nola Jane (Larry) Lynch, his son Archie Crawford, a daughter in law Brenda Jones, sisters Ruth Johnson and Opal Calico and sister in law Lillian Mays. He is survived by his loving grandchildren Bryon (Tammy) Rich and Roy Reffuse and great-grandchildren Meaghan and Hanna Rich. Mr. Mays is also survived by 2 grandchildren: George and Larry Lynch, and 3 great grandchildren in Dayton, OH. Viewing for Mr. Mays was held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 from 5-7pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City). Inurnment services will be held at a later time at Florida National Cemetery.

Hector Manuel Dominguez, Jr.
Dominguez, Hector Manuel Jr., left this life on August 31, 2006 at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. He was born on August 24, 2006 to parents Hector and Bernice Dominguez. Our little lamb will be missed greatly. Services were held at Hodges Family Funeral Home and St. Rita’s Catholic Church and internment was held at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Priscilla Hoffman
Hoffman, Priscilla M., 81 years of Zephyrhills, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Sunbelt Health Care Center, Zephyrhills under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. She was born December 16, 1924 in Attleboro, Massachusetts the daughter of George and Mary Briggs. She has lived in Florida the last 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Warren Hoffman earlier this year. She is survived by her children: Warren Hoffman, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Sharlene Davies of Wesley Chapel, Cheryl Lufkin of Brandon and Lori Hoffman of Tampa; her brother Kenneth Briggs of Fort Myers; her grandchildren: Thomas Johnston, Melissa Scott, Matthew Johns, Tonya Lewis, Warren Hoffman III and Nicole Devine; and her great grandchildren: Dominic Johnston, Alexandra Jones and Hannah Devine. Services and burial will be private. Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills in charge of arrangements.

David B. Dungan
Dungan, Dave, 70, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006 in Dade City. He was born in Gibson County, TN, and grew up in Zephyrhills. His profession and talent was as a horseman, a cattleman, and a rodeo cowboy. He began practicing this craft while growing up in Pasco County during the days of open range. He began traveling and winning at his chosen profession in the 1950’s and continued for the next 25 years, getting the chance to travel to Europe, Africa, South America, and all over the United States. He then spent the remaining years of his life farming and training and driving mules. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rix Dungan; his children, Ben Dungan, Samantha Dungan, Jennifer Goethe and son-in-law, James Goethe. A memorial service to celebrate his going on to join the Heavenly Father was held at Trilacoochee Church of Christ on Saturday, Sept. 9th, at 1:00 pm at 20300 US 301, Dade City, FL 33523 (352-583-2842). In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Trilacoochee Church of Christ or Gulfside Regional Hospice 6117 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34653 (352-567-2888).

Raymond C. Hays
Hays, Raymond C., 94, of St. Joe, FL, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at his home. He was born May 27, 1912 in Dade City, FL, to Sam Hays and Eva Mueller Hays and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a lifelong resident of the St. Joe area, was active in the ranching, farming, and citrus industry, and had a fond love for hunting and fishing. He worked logging woods for Pasco Packing and Tampa Shipyard, then at St. Leo Poultry Farms. He owned the Spotless Dry Cleaners in Dade City for 18 years and then operated a cattle ranch for many years with 2 of his sons. He is survived by his wife of 72 years: Margaret C. Gude Hays, St. Joe, FL; 5 children: Ralph Hays & Georgia Ferguson, Altamonte Springs, FL, Charles & Sue Hays, Geneva, FL, Sammy & Anne Hays, St. Joe, FL, Margie & Bobby Whigham, Ridge Manor, FL, Kevin & Janet Hays, St. Joe, FL; 21 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Genevieve Hays. Funeral services were held 10am Monday, September 4, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Joe Cemetery. Friends called from 6-7pm Sunday evening at Sacred Heart where a Rosary service will be held at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, family request donations in his memory to Alzheimer’s Research, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601.

Katherine Lawrence
Lawrence, Katherine, 85, passed away on August 31, 2006 at Pasco Regional Hospital in Dade City. Kay was born on May 20, 1921 to Lawrence and Laura Schork in Pennsylvania. She had been a homemaker. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, first husband John, second husband Ray Lawrence, and two brothers, Bud Schork and Harry Schork. Survivors include on daughter and souse, Carol and Larry Halstead, one granddaughter and spouse, Lori Spencer and Phillip Spencer, all from Sparta, TN, one grandson and spouse, Jimmy Wilcoxon and Tin Wilcoxon from Katy, Texas. She has one brother, Carl Schork, three sisters, Betty Keister, Francis McEween, both from Pennsylvania and one sister from Tampa, Dorothy Seiver. She had many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was held at Chapel Hill Gardens

Charles E. "Chip" Atkins, III
Atkins III, Charles E. “Chip”, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2006. He was born August 5, 1959 to Nancy L. Atkins of Zephyrhills and the late Charles E. Atkins, Jr. Chip lived in Zephyrhills since 1977, where he owned and operated the Atkins Group Home for the past 29 years. He is survived by his son, John of Zephyrhills; fiancée Beth Postlethwait of Zephyrhills, and her children, Kyle and Ellen; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Paul Bush of Olyphant, PA; sister and brother-in-law Cathi and Jim Kelly of Zephyrhills; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Edna Atkins of Edwardsville, PA; sister Nancy Burris of Factoryville, PA; brother Thomas Atkins of Edwardsville, PA; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces; and many loving friends. A memorial service was held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills. Donations may be made to Atkins Group Home or to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Carolyn Sanchez
Sanchez, Carolyn S., 56, of Dade City, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at her home in Dade City. She was born April 14, 1950 in Section, AL, to Aubrey Lee Black and Bessie B. Spears. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Family Worship in Dade City. She is survived by her husband: Luciana L. Sanchez, Sr., Dade City, FL; 2 sons: Lusiano Sanchez, Homestead, FL, Luciano B. Sanchez, Dade City, FL; 2 daughters: Tonua S. Williams, Trenton, GA, Maria S. Denton, Dade City, FL; one sister: Marylou Beam, Section, AL; four brothers: Rev. & Mrs. J.L. Black, Lookout Mountain, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Shelton Black, Ider, AL, Mr. & Mrs. Junior Black, Ider, AL, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Black, Flat Rock, AL; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 2pm Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel with Brother B.J. Denton officiating. Friends called from 4-7pm Saturday at the funeral home.
