WAVERLY -- Mr. Llewellyn Jacob Tanner of Waverly died of heart failure Monday (Aug. 15, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 87.
He was born April 6, 1918, in Antigua and came here from Antigua 50 years ago. He was a self-employed landscaper. He was a Pentecostal and a member of the Church of God by Faith.
He is survived by his sisters, Claudia Hughes, the Bronx, N.Y., Irose Tanner, Antigua, and Sybil Tanner, England, and brothers, Max Tanner and Alvin Tanner, both of Antigua.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 608 First Ave. in Waverly. Services will Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of God by Faith, 539 First Ave. in Waverly. Interment will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.

KISSIMMEE -- Mrs. Vivian L. Anderson of Kissimmee died of respiratory failure Friday (Aug. 12, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 75.
Born Feb. 18, 1930, in Harlan, Ky., Mrs. Anderson moved to Polk County from Virginia in 1971. She was a homemaker. She attended Lake Hamilton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Anderson. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Neal, Kissimmee, Sharon Handley and Rita Helton, both of Auburndale; sons, Donald Anderson, Lakeland, Robert Anderson, Haines City, Larry Anderson, Polk City.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Alan Kirk Friedman of Lakeland died of cancer Sunday (Aug. 14, 2005) at his home. He was 67.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1937, in San Diego, Calif., and moved to Lakeland in 1999 from Rochester, N.Y. He worked for many years in the commercial insurance industry. He was a member of the Stardust Dance Center in Plant City. He was Jewish.
Mr. Friedman is survived by his wife, Judi Friedman, Lakeland, daughters, Elyse Matson, San Diego, and Kim Foreman, Canandaigua, N.Y.; sons, Michael Friedman and Russell Strasser, both of San Diego; brother, Marc Friedman, San Diego; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Schalamar Creek Golf and Country Club.

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Keith L. Brown of Haines City died of heart failure Sunday (Aug. 28, 2005) in Lakeland. He was 62.
Born in Jamaica on Sept. 10, 1942, Mr. Brown came to Haines City from there in 1982. He was a custodian.
Mr. Brown is survived by his daughters, Carita Brown, Kissimmee, Kerleene Brown, Virginia, Dsreen Brown; sons, Oneal Brown, Georgia, Winston Brown, New York, Danny Brown, Paul Brown, both of Jamaica; former wife, Cerlene Saunders, Kissimmee.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.

LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Barbara Alene Steele Powell of Lake Wales and Rock Hill, S.C., died of heart failure Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 71.
She was born in Rock Hill, S.C., on Oct. 23, 1933. She was a retired truck driver for Clay Hyder Truck Lines in Auburndale and Lester Coggins Trucking Company in Fort Myers. She was a member of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church in Chester, S.C.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, Edgar B. Powell; daughters, Pamela Holland, Lake Wales, Luanne Free, Dexter, Mo.; sons, Richard Collins, Lake Wales, Laverne Collins, Rock Hill; sister, Joyce Smith, Chester; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services will be in Rock Hill, S.C. Burial will be in Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rock Hill.

PLANT CITY -- Mr. Marcelino Roldan of Plant City died Sunday (Aug. 21, 2005) of cancer at his home. He was 88.
Born on April 26, 1917, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, he came here from New York in 1971. He was a retired maintenance worker for the city of Plant City. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.
Mr. Roldan was preceded in death by a son, Frankisco Roldan. He is survived by his wife, Felicia Roldan, Plant City; son, Armando Roldan, Plant City; daughters, Graciela Silva and Aurelia Trejo, both of Plant City, and Feinez Roldan, Puerto Rico; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Haught Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Clement Catholic Church.

DAVENPORT -- Mr. Robert L. Hussey of Davenport died of heart failure Sunday (Aug. 21, 2005) at home. He was 54.
Born April 9, 1951, in Vincennes, Ind., he came here from Vincennes in 1982. He was a computer programmer and operator. He was also a driver for SAIA Motor Lines.
Mr. Hussey is survived by his wife, Linda Hussey; son, Chuck Fackler, Lake Wales; brothers, William Hussey, Robertson, Ill. and Curtis Eugene Stanley, Vincennes, Ind.; sister, Mary Hussey, Jean Hussey Fox, and Marjie Stanley Devin, all of Vincennes, Ind.; and one granddaughter.
