LAKELAND -- Mrs. Bertha Virginia Rupert of Lakeland died of respiratory failure Saturday (Aug. 27, 2005) at Palm Terrace of Lakeland. She was 93.
Born June 17, 1912, in Millboro Springs, Va., she moved to Chesapeake, Va., in 1972. She worked as an administrative clerk for Wilson Trucking Corp. in Fishersville, Va. She was Methodist.
Mrs. Rupert is survived by her husband, Frank D. Rupert; son, Howard Fitzgerald, Lakeland; sister, Frances Sutton, Lynhurst, Va.; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. this afternoon at Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
HUBERT ALDERMAN, 65

AUBURNDALE -- Mr. Hubert L. Alderman of Auburndale died of complications of diabetes Aug. 22, 2005, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 65.
Born in Auburndale on Nov. 20, 1939, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a scrap metal dealer. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Mr. Alderman is survived by his daughter, Christina Marie Alderman, Auburndale; brother, Douglas Alderman, Lakeland; sisters, Ethel Davis, Bartow, Linda Evans, Lakeland; stepson, Clinton C. Ward, Auburndale; 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Auburndale Memorial Park.

Sarah Duncan, 102, Dies
LAKELAND -- Miss Sarah M. Duncan of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (Sept. 20, 2005) at Oakbridge Healthcare Center. She was 102.
Born in Humphreys County, Tenn., on Nov. 27, 1902, she came to Lakeland from Oklahoma in 1919. She was a retired saleswoman of ladies clothing for Myricks and Gladys Shop. She was a member of Circle 11/12. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Miss Duncan is survived by her sister-in-law, Bettie Duncan, Lakeland, and nephews, Earle Duncan and Thomas A. Duncan, both of Lakeland.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Burial Park.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Docia Williams of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (April 1, 2005) at Carpenters' Manor. She was 96.
Born Jan. 7, 1909, in Early County, Ga., Mrs. Williams came here from there in 1944. She worked for Holly Hill Citrus for more than 25 years. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Georgia.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Williams. She is survived by her son, Charles Williams, Haines City; daughters, Doris Alexander, Jacksonville, Vaudine Pressley, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. this afternoon at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Audrey Howlett of Lakeland died of lung failure Wednesday (March 23, 2005) at Highlands Lake Center. She was 80.
She was born in Pennsylvania on March 20, 1925. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Howlett is survived by her sons, Lee Howlett, Keith Howlett, Ronnie Bohinski, all of Lakeland, Gary Howlett, Bartow, Bill Bohinski, East Bernstadt, Ky.; daughter, Rhonda Brannen, Lakeland; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Gentry-Morrison Southside Funeral Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

PLANT CITY -- Mrs. Rosa Booth Hutcheson of Plant City died of heart failure Wednesday (July 6, 2005) in Lakeland. She was 96.
Born in Cork on Sept. 19, 1908, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hutcheson was preceded in death by her husband, "Mac" Hutcheson. She is survived by her sons, Ross Hutcheson, Lakeland, Herman L. Ussery, Slocum, Ala.; daughter, Oleta Funk, Vero Beach; three brothers; three sisters; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 this evening at Haught Funeral Home, Plant City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Dorothy L. Johnson of Winter Haven died of heart failure Monday (June 27, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 87.
Born in Dothan, Ala., on Oct. 21, 1917, Mrs. Johnson came to Winter Haven from Jackson County 70 years ago. She was a Central Service technician. She was a charter member of Lake Shipp Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Johnson. She is survived by her son, Amos Harry Johnson, Winter Haven; daughter, Helen Wasmund, Winter Haven; sisters, Ellie Green, Audrey Cook, both of Marianna, Lona Baxley, Youngstown, Anna Bell McNeil, Panama City, Mary Madden, Winter Haven; brother, Charles Fort, Marianna; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave., Auburndale. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Robert A. "Bobby" Bowser of Lakeland died of a stroke Friday (June 17, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 49.
Born March 30, 1956, in Butler, Pa., he came here from there in 1970. He was the owner of Bowser's RV Consignment and Sales Center. He was a member of Presbyterian Chapel in the Grove Church, Lakeland, and Lakeland Masonic Lodge 91 and F&AM;, Lakeland.
Mr. Bowser is survived by his wife, Sally Lynn Bowser; son, Benjamin A. Bowser, San Deigo, Calif.; daughter, Aimee L. Mancuso, Lakeland; father, Harold A. Bowser, Lakeland; stepmother, Debra Bowser, Lakeland; brother, Kenneth H. Bowser, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Presbyterian Church in the Grove. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
