LAKE ALFRED -- Mrs. Ethel Mae Butler of Lake Alfred died Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2005) in Lake Alfred. She was 83.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Wells Memorial Funeral Chapel, Plant City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
BRUNA THOMAS, Infant
LAKELAND -- Miss Bruna Leigh Silva Thomas, the daughter of Eric Thomas and Adriana Silva Thomas of Lakeland, died Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was an infant.
She was born on Aug. 23, 2005.
In addition to her parents, Miss Thomas is survived by her maternal grandparents, Arnaldo and Tereza Da Silver, Rio de Janiero, Brazil; paternal grandparents, Elaine May, Lakeland, Ronald and Fran Thomas, Willsboro, N.Y.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland. The family will receive friends after the service at the Mullins residence.

RUSSELL TAYLOR, 86
Railroad Mechanic
LAKELAND -- Mr. Russell "Jack" Taylor of Lakeland died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2005) at Tandem Health Care. He was 86.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1918. He worked as a railroad mechanic for 40 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Lillie Taylor; daughter, June Brock, Lakeland; sisters, Margaret Cockran, Biloxi, Miss., Elsie Barnett, LaBelle; two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Robert "R.B." B. Smith of Lakeland died of cancer Saturday (Aug. 20, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 83.
Born in Brunswick, Ga., Mr. Smith owned and operated Smith Radio and TV Shop. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Deliverance Ministries.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Essie Mae Smith; sons, Myrick Smith and Bruce Smith, both of Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at H.W. Oldham Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery.

LAKE WALES -- Ms. Peggy R. "P.J." Johns of Lake Wales died of multiple organ failure Monday (Aug. 22, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 62.
Born Nov. 23, 1942, in Helena, Ark., she came here from Brandon in 1997. She worked in the photo lab in Wal-Mart.
Ms. Johns is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Key, Winter Park, Colo., Yvonne Hudnall, Lake Wales; Kelli Lynn Lawless, Spring Hill, Jenna O'Keefe, Riverview; brothers, Teddy Winney, Bella Vista, Ark., and Randy Winney, Gonzales, La.; sisters, Crystal Winney, West Helena, Ark., Mary Lou Simone, Mount Carmel, Tenn., and Lena Marie Parenteau, Sanbornton, N.H.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hillsborough Memorial Gardens, Brandon.

MEMRIE WILKES, 91
Air Force Nurse
AUBURNDALE -- Mrs. Memrie Wilkes of Winter Haven died Wedneday (Aug. 17, 2005) in Auburndale Oaks. She was 91.
She was Born Jan. 8, 1914, in Louisville, Miss., and came to Winter Haven from Melbourne in 1997.
She was a nurse and a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. She served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Society of Retired Air Force Nurses, World War II Flight Nurses, Indian River Colony Club, the Retired Officers Club in St. Petersburg, a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Indian River and the Women's Memorial in Washington, D.C., and a life member of the Cape Canaveral Retired Officers Club. She was a member of Spirit Lake Community Church, Winter Haven.
Mrs. Wilkes is survived by five nieces and three nephews.
A service will held be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

PLANT CITY -- Mr. William Davis Stigall of Plant City died of heart failure Saturday (Aug. 20, 2005) in Tamp. He was 61.
Born June 29, 1944, in Paris, Ky., he came here from Ohio in 1971. He was the owner of Stigall and Co. Inc. He was a professional billiard player and a member of the Billiard Association.
Mr. Stigall is survived by his wife, Sharon Lee Stigall, Plant City; sons, William Davis "BJ" Stigall Jr., Lakeland, Scott Owen Stigall, Tampa, and Jonathan Dirk Stigall, Plant City; daughter, Pamela Jane Glass, Murphy, N.C.; mother, Mary Hazlett, Carlisle, Ky.; father, Ledford Stigall, Shelby, Ohio; brothers, Harrison Stigall, Mansfield, Ohio, and Cecil Stigall, Daytona Beach; step-brothers, Doug Stigall, Texas, and Dave Stigall, Ohio; sister, Shirley Quillen, Daytona Beach; step-sister, Teresa Madden, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Jennifer C. Kuhn of Lakeland died of congestive heart failure Sunday (Aug. 21, 2005) at home. She was 55.
Born Aug. 10, 1950, in Cleveland, she came here from Rocky River, Ohio, 21 years ago. She was a state certified contractor, teacher, and pharmacy technician. She attended Eastside Church of the Nazarene, Lakeland.
Mrs. Kuhn is survived by her husband, Donald J. Kuhn, Lakeland; son, Kenneth Franklyn Kuhn, Lakeland; mother, Cecil R. Cooper, Rocky River, Ohio; brothers, Douglas Cooper, Rocky River, Ohio, Kenneth C. Cooper, Westlake, Ohio, and Donald Cooper, Avon Lake.
