LAKELAND -- Mr. Big T. Lute of Lakeland died Saturday (Aug. 20, 2005) at South Florida Baptist Hospital. The cause of death is pending autopsy results at the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office. He was 25.
Born in Lakeland on Feb. 29, 1980, Mr. Lute returned here from Delevan, N.Y., in 2001. He was a crew chief for Randolph Heating and Air Conditioning.
Mr. Lute is survived by his father, Terry Lee Lute, Leesburg; mothers, Beverly Lute, Lakeland, Nanette Rudolph, Leesburg; sister, Shanon Gayle Jarvis, Winter Haven; brother, Ayden DeLoch, Lakeland; daughter, Coco Lute, Lakeland; companion, Brandi Reese, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. Graveside services will follow at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.

ARNOLD FLIPPO, 99
Salesman
Mr. Arnold G. Flippo of Lakeland died of heart failure Thursday (Aug. 18, 2005) at Carpenter's Home Manor. He was 99.
Born in Hixson, Tenn., on March 14, 1906, Mr. Flippo moved here from Chattanooga in 1978. He was a hardware salesman for Sears.
Mr. Flippo served with the Navy during World War II.
He belonged to the West Lakeland Church of God and previously attended Lake Wire Church of God.
His survivors include his wife, Wilma Johnson Flippo and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Northside. Services will follow at the funeral home. Mr. Flippo will be buried at 1 p.m. in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Lakeland Church of God or the Carpenters Home Estates Scholarship Endowment Fund.

CHARLOTTE VANSINGER, 81

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Charlotte June VanSinger of Lakeland died of kidney failure Sunday (Aug. 14, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 81.
She was born on June 9, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., and came here from Comstock, Mich., 23 years ago. She was a homemaker. She attended Carpenter's Home Church.
Mrs. VanSinger is survived by her daughters, Patty Doren, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Becky Adams, Cadillac, Mich.; son, Barry Peter VanSinger, Kent City, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

FORT MEADE -- Mrs. Vicky J. Day of Fort Meade died of heart failure Saturday (Aug. 13, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 50.
She was born Sept. 5, 1954, in Fort Payne, Ala., and moved to Fort Meade 30 years ago from West Palm Beach. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Day is survived by her husband, David Day, Fort Meade; sons, Jason Skipper, Fort Meade, and Jared Skipper, Bartow; mother, Gayle Sherman, West Palm Beach; father, Cecil Beck, Plant City; brother, Shane Beck, Bartow; sister, Chrissy Rohde, Lakeland; four grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLean Funeral Home, 306 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
RICHARD SCOTT, 79

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Mr. Richard Alton Scott of Arnold, Md., a former resident of Lakeland, died of a pulmonary embolism July 28, 2005. He was 79.
He was born in Columbus, Ga. He was employed by the University of South Florida in Tampa until his retirement. He received his bachelor of science degree in education, master of education, special education, and doctor of education, special education from Auburn University. He was a member of the Lions Club in Lakeland.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Lucy Townsend Scott; daughter, Marion Scott Wear, Arnold, Md.; son, David Richard Townsend Scott, Birmingham; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard A. Scott Memorial Fund, Auburn University Foundation, College of Education, Auburn University, 3084 Haley Center, Auburn, Ala. 36849.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Opelika, Ala., followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
NADINE A. WARREN, 90

GRAND ISLAND -- Mrs. Nadine Warren of Grand Island, a former resident of Haines City, died of cancer Aug. 10, 2005, at Bayview Center in Eustis. She was 90.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1915, in Cygnet, Ohio, and recently moved to Grand Island. She was a winter resident of Haines City for 17 years. She was a homemaker, a volunteer at Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., and a volunteer aircraft spotter during World War II.
Mrs. Warren is survived by her sons, Carlon B. Warren, Grand Island, and James K. Warren, Oveido; brother, Clifford A. Burris; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

FROSTPROOF -- Mrs. Gayla Jean Greenway of Frostproof, who encouraged her family to take advantage of every opportunity, died of cancer Sunday (Sept. 4, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 56.
Born Aug. 28, 1949, in Frostproof, Mrs. Greenway lived her entire life in this area.
Mrs. Greenway cooked in a Southern style that her family loved. Cory Greenway of Frostproof, her son, especially loved her sweet tea.
"I don't know what she did after the boiling, but it always had a distinct taste. You could have 10 cups of tea and know which one was hers, " her son said.
Greenway, a musician, said he will remember the times his mother attended his concerts, her way of showing support for his music career. The encouragement began when he was a young boy.
"She was there, sitting with me when I began learning and until I became an accomplished musician, " he said. "She didn't grow up with much, she wanted us to have every opportunity she didn't have."
She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Greenway is survived by her husband, Bobby Greenway; son, Cory Lane Greenway, Frostproof; brother, Lynwood Carter, Sebring; and sisters, Sandra Robinson, Babson Park, and Bonnie Faye Carter, Frostproof.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Frostproof. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Frostproof.
