LAKELAND -- Mrs. Gladys N. Bullock of Lakeland died of heart failure Sunday (Dec. 18, 2005) in Lakeland. She was 90.
Born in Omaha, Neb., on Feb. 28, 1915, she came to Lakeland from Cheboygan, Mich., in 1947. She was a homemaker. She attended North Side Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bullock is survived by her daughters, Leona Campbell and Leona "Virginia" Campbell, both of Kathleen; sister, Esther McKay, Cheboygan, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 this afternoon at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

HIGHLAND CITY -- Mrs. Thelma Lightsey Tyre of Highland City died of congestive heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 7, 2005) at Palm Terrace Hospice House. She was 80.
Born in Appling County, Ga., on July 4, 1925, she came to Highland City from there 50 years ago. She was a sectionizer for Kraft Foods. She was a Protestant.
Mrs. Tyre was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Tyre. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Tyre Slay, Highland City, Judy VanOrsdale, Bartow; son, Tony Tyre, Highland City; brothers, Durrell Lightsey, Delvis Lightsey, both of Appling County, Ga.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 this morning at Gentry-Morrison Southside Funeral Home.

BARTOW -- Mrs. Fae Thomas of Bartow died of lung failure Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Bartow Regional Medical Center. She was 85.
Born in Thomas, Okla., on Nov. 25, 1920, she came to Bartow from Green Cove Springs nine years ago. She was an administrative assistant for the Clay County Agricultural Extension office in Green Cove Springs. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Thomas. She is survived by her son, Ben Thomas Sr., Melbourne; daughter, Brenda Thomas, Lake Wales; two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Babson Park Community Church.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Losure Swallows of Winter Haven died of complications following a stroke Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Palm Garden of Winter Haven. He was 82.
Born in Tennessee, on Nov. 1, 1923, he came to Winter Haven from there 35 years ago. He was a citrus laborer. He was a Pentecostal.
Mr. Swallows is survived by his wife, Jewell Swallows; sons, Eugene Swallows, Jerry Swallows, both of Eloise; daughters, Helen Wilson, Shirley Cook, both of Eloise, Shelia Smith, Lake Wales, Brenda Durden, Lake Alfred; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Eagle Lake.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Rita Andrea Quinlan of Winter Haven died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 62.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 26, 1943, she came to Winter Haven from there 38 years ago. She was an administrative assistant for the Migrant Workers of Florida in Winter Haven. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 8 Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Winter Haven.
Mrs. Quinlan is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Quinlan; son, Thomas Joseph Quinlan, Georgia; sister, Anna Faulkner, Winter Haven; brother, Stephen VanRompaey, Winter Haven.
Graveside services will be at 1 this afternoon at Glenn Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale.

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Eduardo Pavon of Haines City died of cancer Monday (Dec. 26, 2005) at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport. He was 68.
Born in Cuba on June 4, 1937, he came to Haines City from Miami 30 years ago. He was a citrus laborer.
Mr. Pavon is survived by his wife, Maria G. Pavon, Lake Wales.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Tellas Massey III of Winter Haven died at Good Shepherd Hospice on Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) of injuries suffered when he was struck by an automobile. He was 16.
Born in Winter Haven on Sept. 22, 1989, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 10th-grade student at Winter Haven High School. He was a member of Grace Community Church.
Mr. Massey is survived by his father and stepmother, Damon Monie Massey II and Marcy Massey, Polk City; mother and stepfather, Kelley and Tiger Chapman, Winter Haven; stepbrothers, Tyler Jones, Travis Jones, both of Polk City; half brother, Devin Massey, Polk City; maternal grandmother, Wendy Badders, Winter Haven; maternal grandfather, Brian Cousens, Vero Beach; paternal grandmother, Sharon Massey, Winter Haven.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. Burial will be in Auburndale Memorial Park.

LAKELAND -- Ms. Frances Marie Martinac of Lakeland died of heart failure Dec. 22, 2005, in Lakeland. She was 63.
Born in Darby, Pa., on June 28, 1942, she came to Lakeland from New Jersey. She was a registered nurse.
Ms. Martinac is survived by her sisters, Mary Stowers, Lakeland, Catherine Lewandowski, Ronnemede, N.J., Theresa Martinac, Trenton, N.J.
