DOVER -- Mr. Robert G. Harrod of Dover, who has family in Plant City, died of congestive heart failure Monday (Dec. 26, 2005) at Brandon Hospital. He was 64.
He was born in Troy, Ala., on Aug. 2, 1941. He worked in seafood sales.
Mr. Harrod is survived by his wife, Phyllis Harrod; son, Michael Harrod, Astatula; daughters, Dawn Harrod, Plant City, Alicia Facciponte, Stephanie Facciponte, both of Tampa, Kimberly Byrd, Riverview, Deena Harrod, Tampa; four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 this afternoon at Hopewell Funeral Home, Plant City. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
NATHANIEL FOWLER, 77

LAKELAND -- Mr. Nathaniel C. Fowler of Lakeland died of complications of Alzheimer's disease on Sunday (Dec. 25, 2005) in Winter Haven. He was 77.
Born in Boston on Sept. 18, 1928, he came to Lakeland from Needham, Mass., and Alton Bay, N.H., 15 years ago. He was the founder and owner of Fowler Printing Co. He was a veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Glen Fowler, San Rafael, Calif.; daughters, Carrie Fowler, Lebanon, Ore., Patricia Fowler, Columbia, Mo.; stepsons, Rolf Holter-Sorensen, Per Arthur Holter-Sorensen, both of Asker, Norway; six grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred.
WALLACE BELL, 73

FORT MEADE -- Mr. Wallace Bell of Fort Meade died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Bartow Regional Medical Center. He was 73.
He was born in Dothan, Ala., on Jan. 28, 1932. He was a citrus caretaker. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Fort Meade.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Cora Ward Bell; daughter, Mary Hollis, Dothan; brothers, Gene Bell, Herman Bell, William Bell, all of Bartow, Bishop Charles Bell, Dothan, James Bell, Ozark, Ala., Willis Carl Bell, Miami; sisters, Dovie Chambers, Dothan, Ila Jean Chambers, Ozark; three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Paul AME Church in Fort Meade. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stringer Street AME Church in Dothan. Burial will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Dothan.

AUSTIN BELL, 26
MULBERRY -- Mr. Austin D. Bell Jr. of Mulberry died as a result of an automobile accident Tuesday (Dec. 27, 2005). He was 26.
Mr. Bell was born Aug. 18, 1979, in Plant City. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Mr. Bell is survived by his mother, Ernestine Bell, Nichols; father, Austin Bell Sr., Lakeland; brothers, Antwon Bell, Mulberry, Dumar Kellum, Lakeland; sister, Tiffany Bell, Nichols; grandmother, Ruth Bell, Lakeland; grandfathers, Lucious Fredrick Sr., Nichols, Otis Bell Sr., Mulberry; stepfather, Gene Sylvia, Mulberry; step grandmother, Juanita Bell, Mulberry.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. James Primitive Baptist Church, Mulberry. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

James Haley, 88, USDA, Real Estate
WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. James Cantrell Haley had an eye for photography, and he particularly enjoyed shooting in black and white.
"He was a good photographer. He photographed outdoor scenes like sunsets, trees, birds, changing colors. He really enjoyed his black and white photography because it was like Ansel Adams, " his son, Michael Haley of Jacksonville, said.
The retired owner of Haley Real Estate in Winter Haven, and state supervisor and entomologist for the USDA, died of congestive heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 88.
Born in Stillwell, Okla., on July 31, 1917, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was in the 808th Division, working in chemical warfare. He graduated from Oklahoma A & M with a bachelor's degree in agronomy, and he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as an entomologist for more than 35 years before he retired as a supervisor in the late 1960s.
Mr. Haley, who came to Winter Haven from Gulfport, Miss., in 1962, opened Haley Real Estate in Winter Haven following his retirement from the USDA, and worked as a real estate broker for 15 years.
"He liked helping people, and he didn't always take full commissions, " Michael Haley said.
His son described him as a jovial, outgoing man, who enjoyed freshwater bass fishing, trolling about lakes in a boat, and growing flowers.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.
In addition to his son, Michael Haley, Mr. Haley is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Carolyn G. Haley; and sister, Leona Peterman, Enid, Okla.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Crisp-Coon Funeral Homes Inc., Winter Haven. Services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, in Columbia, S.C., under the direction of Dunbar Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church.
ELVA HARPER, 89

WINTER HAVEN -- Ms. Elva J. Harper of Winter Haven died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 27, 2005) at Tandem Health Care. She was 89.
Born in Harlin County, Ky., on May 3, 1916, she came to Winter Haven from Connecticut in 1975. She was a factory worker at Hayden Switch Co.
Ms. Harper is survived by her brother, Elvin Engle, London, Ky.; sisters, Lillian Morgan, Cincinnati, Nell Baker, Campbellville, Ky.; caregiver, Justine Rathbun, Plantsville, Conn.
Memorial services will be held later.
