LAKELAND -- Mr. Freddie Bell Sr. of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 20, 2005) at home. He was 71.
Born in Quincy on May 4, 1934, he came to Lakeland from Jacksonville 50 years ago. He was a custodian for Parkview Baptist Church.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Arletha Bell; daughters, Dorlean Fitzgerald, Quincy, Debbie McTherson, Arcadia; sons, Freddie Bell Jr., Johnnie Bell, both of Lakeland; stepsons, Phillip Jackson, James Jackson, Max Walker, Ernest Walker, all of Lakeland; stepdaughter, Theresa Abney, Akron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Charles A. Lewis Funeral Home, 609 W. Memorial Blvd. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church, 1047 N. Ohio Ave.
Lorraine Williams, 86, Homemaker
LAKELAND -- Over the years, Mrs. Lorraine Brown Williams worked tirelessly for the Church of God, serving as one of the original founders of the Florida State Association of the Church of God.
"She has a goddaughter, the Rev. Dr. Tywanna Stell, and she really helped in rearing her, and Tywanna would say that she instilled in her the values and the love of the Lord, " said Williams' granddaughter, Ashaki Williams of Lakeland. Mrs. Williams died of dementia Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at Palm Terrace in Lakeland. She was 86.
Born in Bartow, Ga., she came to Lakeland from there 60 years ago.
She worked with children in a number of capacities, including serving as a youth minister in the Church of God for many years.
"She has always just been a compassionate and caring woman. The Bible says to feed the hungry and to bring the strangers in, and she did that -- anybody in the neighborhood or my friends, they were always there because she became like their grandmother, " Ashaki Williams said.
She was a member of Tenth Street Church of God where she was a historian of the church. She saw and photographed the church in its days of prayer meetings held under a tent at Lincoln Avenue and 10th Street.
She was also a choir member, church mother, Sunday school teacher and member of the Women of the Church of God.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eddie L. Williams, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine C. Williams, Lakeland; son, Trebor Marcell Williams, Lakeland; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Coney Funeral Parlor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tenth Street Church of God. Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
ELOISE WILLIAMS, 80

LAKE HAMILTON -- Mrs. Eloise "Weezy" Williams of Lake Hamilton died of kidney failure Sunday (Dec. 11, 2005) at Crossroads Nursing Home. She was 80.
Born in Lake Wales on April 6, 1925, she came to Lake Hamilton from Valdosta, Ga., 64 years ago. She was a cook at White's Diner. She was a member of New Mount Zion M.B. Church where she was formerly a member of the Choir No. 1 and a deaconess. She retired from the Interdenominational Prayer Band as president and a member of the Mother's Board.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williams. She is survived by her sons, Sylvester Williams, Lake Hamilton, Willie J. Williams, and Erwin McCray, both of Hagerstown, Md., Tony Williams, Poinciana; daughters, Bettye Williams, and Pearlie Mae Williams, both of Haines City; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Holmes Funeral Home, 601 Claude Holmes Sr. Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church, 713 N. Eighth St., Haines City. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
WARREN ADAMS, 84

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Warren C. Adams of Winter Haven died of kidney failure Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport. He was 84.
He was born in Atchison, Kan., on Feb. 26, 1921. He was a member and former president of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 193 in Springfield. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the 63rd Bomb Squadron, 43rd Bomb Group. He earned six Bronze Stars. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 32, a life member of Elks Lodge No. 158 of Springfield and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 500 of Springfield. He was a member of West Side Christian Church.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Adams. He is survived by his sons, Gary L. Adams, Winter Haven, William R. Adams, Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Judith K. Ullrich, Madisonville, La.; caregiver, Janet Adams, Winter Haven; brother, Keith Adams, Springfield; seven grandchildren; four great-grand-children.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, Springfield. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

William Deuerlein, 67, Precision Chrysler
WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. William Deuerlein, the retired vice president and general manager for Precision Chrysler, was noted for honesty and integrity in his professional and personal life.
"He was very warm as a family man and also a very honest person. I believe he had a lot of integrity. I felt like not only for the family but also for the people that he worked with, " said his son, Eric Deuerlein of Winter Haven. "He felt the car business was a people business and his focus seemed to be on people first."
Mr. Deuerlein died of cancer Tuesday (Dec. 20, 2005) at home. He was 67.
Born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 17, 1938, he attended Officers Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and served as a lieutenant in the Navy during the Cuban blockade, attached to the admiral's staff of the Second Fleet.
Mr. Deuerlein's longtime career in the auto industry started out working at Pontiac Motor Division in Detroit. He served as a manufacturing representative in the Pittsburgh area and lived in Tennessee for several years, where he worked for Apollo Motor Homes.
He came to Winter Haven from Tennessee in 1986 to become the vice president and general manager of Precision Chrysler, where he worked until his retirement.
"He loved NASCAR. He always just liked to see a good race, " said his wife of 42 years, Elaine Deuerlein. "He had tickets for the both the Daytona 500 and the Pepsi 500."
His son, Scott Deuerlein described his father as a very patriotic man. "He just thought this was the best country in the world, and he was thankful to live in this country where he was free and could enjoy a successful and happy life, " Scott Deuerlein said.
He served on the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. He was a Protestant.
Mr. Deuerlein is survived by his wife, Elaine Deuerlein, and sons, Scott Deuerlein, Lakeland, and Eric Deuerlein, Winter Haven.
Memorial services will be held later.

EMMA BOHANNON, 90
Lake Wales Medical Center
WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Emma W. Bohannon of Winter Haven died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Wednesday (Dec. 14, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 90.
Born in Homeland on Sept. 2, 1915, she came to Winter Haven from Obrien in 1949. She was a retired licensed practical nurse for Lake Wales Medical Center. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bohannon was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Bohannon. She is survived by her sons, George Bohannon, Sun City Center, Roger Bohannon, Maryville, Tenn., David Bohannon, Tommy Bohannon, both of Lake Wales; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Wales Cemetery.
