Born in Durango, Mexico, on May 26, 1949, she came to Auburndale from Texas in March. She was a homemaker. She was a Catholic and attended the Church of Christ in Auburndale.
Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her husband, Louis Hernandez; mother, Candelaria Gonzales, Mexico; daughters, Humercinda Mejia, Winter Haven, Maria Candelaria Montelongo, Auburndale, Nancy Martinez, Iowa; sons, Javier Montelongo, Ruperto Martinez, both of Iowa; brothers, Juan Montelongo, Auburndale, Gilberto Montelongo, Dade City, Pedro Montelongo, Durango, Mexico, Cergio Montelongo, Mexico; sisters, Romanita Montelongo, Ma Del Jesus Montelongo, Velia Montelongo, all of Mexico; 14 grandchildren.

JOHNNIE EMMONS, 80

LAKE WALES -- Mr. Johnnie E. Emmons of Lake Wales died of cancer Saturday (Aug. 14, 2004). He was 80.
Born in Tampa on July 29, 1924, Mr. Emmons came to Lake Wales 60 years ago. He was a custodian for the Polk County School District for 20 years and worked for the Lake Wales Sanitation Department for 15 years. He was a member of the Sanctuary of the Living God of Lake Wales.
Mr. Emmons is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Emmons; sons, Eddie Davis, Newport News, Va., Nelton Emmons and Johnnie Emmons Jr., both of Fort Lauderdale, Anthony Smith, and Herman Emmons, Dothan, Ala.; daughter, Bridgette Smith, Lake Wales; brother, Gus Emmons, Tampa; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Faith Temple Holiness Church, 303 N. Walker St., Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Joseph Daniel Jones of Lakeland died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Wednesday (Aug. 18, 2004) in Seward, Alaska. He was 35.
He was born in Lakeland on Oct. 23, 1968. He was a cook for the Summit Lake Lodge in Moose Pass, Alaska. He was a Protestant.
Mr. Jones is survived by his father and stepmother, Everitt and Beth Jones, Lakeland; sisters, Julie Jones, Janice Summerlin, both of Lakeland; brother, John Jones, Lakeland.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Chapel.

LAKELAND -- Ms. Charlene Watson Woodard of Lakeland died of cancer Thursday (Aug. 19, 2004) at home. She was 75.
Born in Monroe, La., on Feb. 11, 1929, she came to Lakeland from there in 1941. She was a sectionizer for Kraft Foods. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Ms. Woodard is survived by her sons, Jimmy Watson, Lakeland, Charles D. Woodard, Thornton, Colo.; brother, Bobby Watson, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lanier Funeral Home, 717 W. Griffin Road, Lakeland. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4450 Harden Blvd, Lakeland.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Sarah Alice Craven of Lakeland died of cancer Wednesday (Aug. 18, 2004). She was 78.
Born in Bisco, N.C., on Jan. 24, 1926, Mrs. Craven came to Lakeland from Thomasville, N.C., in 1960.
Mrs. Craven was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Craven. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Lynn Craven, Larry Carl Craven; daughter, Joy Calhoon; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.

HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Edith Margaret Castleberry of Haines City died of heart failure Sunday (Aug. 15, 2004) in Winter Haven. She was 79.
Born in Tifton, Ga., on July 28, 1925, she came to Winter Haven in 1951, moving to Haines City in 1972. She retired in food service for the Polk County School District. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City.
Mrs. Castleberry was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Castleberry. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Mathews, Ann Arndt, Broken Arrow, Okla., Jon Jackson, Grant, Ala.; son, Ron Castleberry, Havana; brothers, Ernest Selph, Moultrie, Ga., Wayne Selph, Tifton, Ga.; sisters, Nettie Vernice Connell, Jacksonville, Eudean Morris, Lavergne, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Russell Lee Brandenburg of Lakeland died of liver failure Monday (Aug. 16, 2004) at home. He was 51.
Born in Muncie, Ind., on Oct. 21, 1952, the former security guard came to Lakeland 11 years ago.
Mr. Brandenburg is survived by his father, Russell Brandenburg, Muncie; sons, Russell Brandenburg, Marion, Ind., Russell Ridgeway, Indianapolis; daughter, Misty Ridgeway, Indianapolis; sisters, Susie Couch, Muncie, Markeeta Matsen, Lakeland; one grandchild.

LAKE WALES -- Mr. George Vincenty of Lake Wales died of complications following surgery Friday (Aug. 13, 2004) at Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 58.
Born in New York on Feb. 22, 1946, Mr. Vincenty came to Lake Wales from Pembroke Pines four months ago. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Vincenty is survived by his brother, Rene Vincenty, Auburndale.
