WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Benjamin M. Lang of Winter Haven died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Monday (Aug. 23, 2004). He was 22.
He was born in Lake Wales on Oct. 2, 1981. He was a Polk County Fire Services firefighter for three years, and a certified EMT. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.
Mr. Lang is survived by his mother, Sherry Lang, Winter Haven; father, Gordon Lang, Lake Wales; stepfather, Roy Palmer, Winter Haven; brothers, Adam Lang and Ethan Lang, both of Winter Haven.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene, Winter Haven.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Rodney C. Thompson of Lakeland died of heart and lung failure Aug. 19, 2004, at home. He was 49.
Born in Lakeland on Jan. 5, 1955, he was a lifelong resident. He was a factory worker for Florida Tile Co. He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his sons, Rodney C. Thompson II, Fort Campbell, Ky., Timmy Thompson, Lakeland, Dominic Thompson, Fort Bragg, N.C.; mother, Lillie Mae Wade, Winter Haven; brothers, Derwood Thompson, Gainesville, Truman Thompson Jr., Fernandina Beach, Bill Thompson, Apple Valley, Calif., John Thompson, Lakeland; sisters, Ruth Spinks, Lakeland, Shirley Sowell, Yulee, Kathy Thompson, Homeland, Betty Vickers, Winter Haven; three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Florida National Cemetery.

MULBERRY -- Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Vincent of Mulberry died of complications of surgery Saturday (Aug. 21, 2004) at James A. Haley Regional Medical Center in Tampa. He was 75.
Born in Wyoming, Pa., he came to Mulberry from Bartow 20 years ago. He was a retired supervisor for the Florida Department of Transportation, where he worked for 28 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Frierson-Nichols Post No. 8 in Winter Haven and the VFW Post No. 9015 in Mulberry. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Vincent is survived by his daughters, Regina Vincent-Newbolt, Lakeland, Connie DeVries, and Lisa Vincent, both of Palatka; former wife, Virginia McHargue, Palatka; brothers, Arthur Vincent, Wilmington, Del., William Vincent, Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. David Henry Whatley of Winter Haven died of heart disease Monday (Aug. 23, 2004) at home. He was 53.
Born in Winter Haven on Feb. 20, 1951, he was a lifelong resident. He was a truck driver. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Winter Haven. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Whatley is survived by his father, Henry I. Whatley, Harrison, Ark.; mother, Margaret Whatley, Harrison; son, Bradford Whatley, Ohio; sisters, Anita Whatley, Winter Haven, Amanda Whatley, Ohio; brothers, Wayne Williamson, Dennis Williamson, both of Kansas City, Mo.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Marie F. Chery of Winter Haven died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Aug. 19, 2004, in Palm Beach. She was 47.
Born in Haiti, on Dec. 25, 1956, she came to Winter Haven from there one year ago. She was a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Mount Calvary Haitian Baptist Church.
Mrs. Chery is survived by her husband, Beaufils Chery; sons, Marcus Isaac Chery, Godefroy S. Chery, Daniel Franklin Chery, all of Winter Haven; daughter, Jessica Chery, Winter Haven; brothers, Jean Yves Fervil, Lucien Fervil, Wadson Fervil; sisters, Clemence Fervil, Luvie Fervil, Luvia Fervil.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cypress Ridge Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Auburndale Memorial Park.

Born in Lakeland on Nov. 3, 1989, she was a lifelong resident. She was a student. She was a member of Grace Church in Lakeland.
Miss Crosby is survived by her mother, Linda Crosby, Lakeland; father and stepmother, Owen and Kimberli Crosby, Lakeland; paternal grandmother, Effie Crosby, Winter Haven; maternal grandmother, Sue Factor, Lakeland; maternal grandfather, Ken Carter, Lakeland; sisters, Holly Crosby, Ivy Crosby, both of Lakeland; half brother, Joshua Crosby, Lakeland; half sister, Danielle Crosby, Lakeland.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Doris M. King of Lakeland died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2004) in Valencia Hills. She was 88.
She was born in Auburndale on Oct. 1, 1916. She worked for Bordo in Winter Haven for years. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. King is survived by nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside Memorial Park, Winter Haven.

LAKE WALES -- Mrs. June Dunnet of Lake Wales died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Monday (Nov. 22, 2004) in Lake Wales. She was 83.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 12, 1921, she came to Lake Wales from Arizona 20 years ago. She was a retired secretary for Guild Hall and arts center in New York.
Mrs. Dunnet is survived by her brother, Earl W. Olssen, Bohemia, N.Y.
