LAKELAND -- Mrs. Martha N. Hansill of Lakeland died of cancer Thursday (Dec. 2, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. She was 87.
Born in Sydney, Ohio, on Feb. 24, 1917, she came to Lakeland from Deltona one week ago. She was a retired registered nurse for North Shore Hospital in Miami. She was a member of Deltona Lakes Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hansill is survived by her husband of 63 years, Don H. Hansill; sons, Don H. Hansill Jr., Henderson, Nev., Dr. Bob Hansill, Lakeland, Bill Hansill, Philadelphia; sister, Keitha Carpenter, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at at First Community Church of Highland City, 4425 E. Road 540 A., Lakeland.

JOSEPH BERTINO, 63

LAKELAND -- Mr. Joseph F. Bertino of Lakeland died of heart failure Sunday (Nov. 28, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 63.
Born in Hammonton, N.J., on Dec. 29, 1940, he came to Lakeland from New Jersey nine years ago. He was a banker. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Bertino is survived by his wife, Betty Bertino, and parents, Frank and Frances Bertino, New Jersey.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 210 W. Lemon St., Lakeland.

LUETHA VASSER, 70

PIERCE -- Mrs. Luetha Vasser of Pierce died of cancer Aug. 18, 2004, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 70.
Born in Selma, Ala., on Feb. 9, 1934, she came to Pierce from Pensacola 27 years ago. She was a retired lab technician for Agrico. She was a member of Bethel M.B. Church in Mulberry where she served as an usher and was a member of the missionary society.
Mrs. Vasser was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Vasser. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Vasser, Detroit, Doris Sealey, Atlanta, Georgia Mae Patterson, Mulberry, Alfredia Townsend, Palamechia Vasser, both of Lakeland, Dianetta Bankston, Bradley; sons, Herbert Vasser, Leon Vasser, Fred Tolliver, all of Lakeland; brothers, Calvin Curtis, Selma, Jimmy Curtis, Washington, D.C.; sisters, Marsel Johnson, Browns, Ala., Martha Lindsey, Chicago, Survella Curtis, Rockville Center, N.Y., Betty Jean Cunningham, Selma; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Born Church in Mulberry.

INDIAN LAKE ESTATES -- Mr. George Robert "Bob" Mills of Indian Lake Estates died of heart failure Monday (Oct. 4, 2004) at home. He was 79.
Born in Henry County, Ind., on Dec. 15, 1924, he came to Indian Lake Estates from New Castle, Ind., 13 years ago. He was a vice president with Rushville Production Credit Association in New Castle. He was a Sagamore of the Wabash, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite. He was active with the Rotary, Elks Lodge, and the Indian Lake Yacht Club. He was also active with the Henry County Young Farmers 4-H Association, and he was a county councilman at large. He was past president of Indian Lake Estates of six years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Lake Estates where he was a trustee.
Mr. Mills is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth A. Willey, New Castle, Ind., Marilyn S. Bradford, Plainfield, Ind., Janis L. Thomas, Muncie, Ind.; son, Robert A. Mills, Middletown, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Home in New Castle, Ind. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. William Douglas Ogburn Jr. of Winter Haven died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Friday (Sept. 19, 2003) in Winter Haven. He was 14.
Born in Fort Lauderdale on Sept. 6, 1989, he came to Winter Haven one year ago. He was a student and a member of the Marching Wolverine Band. He was a member of the PAL Athletic Club and played football for the Fort Lauderdale Lions.
He attended Mount Bethel Christian Academy, where he was in the youth ministry. He was a member of St. Mary Freewill Baptist Church in Plant City.
Mr. Ogburn is survived by his father, William Douglas Ogburn Sr., Fort Lauderdale; mother, Bertha Ogburn, Winter Haven; brothers, Kenneth C. Stewart Jr., Atlanta, Delvon Ogburn, Oakland, Calif.; sister, Sade S. Ogburn, Winter Haven.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Adolph "Al" Novak of Lakeland died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 8, 2004, in Arland, Wis. He was 81.
Born in Strickland, Wis., on June 7, 1923, he came to Lakeland from Wisconsin in 1991. He was a retired aircraft inspector for the U.S. Civil Service. The World War II veteran was a retired master chief petty officer in the Navy, where he spent 38 years. He was a member of Victory Church.
Mr. Novak is survived by his wife, Donna Mae Novak; daughter, Verna Fields, Jacksonville; sons, Michael Novak, Orange Park, Dennis Novak, Temple Terrace, Dr. Russell Novak, Sarasota; brother, Henry Novak, Pensacola; sisters, Otylia Zwaldo, Chetek, Wis., Hildegarde Turner, Medina, N.Y.; stepsons, Michael Stokke, Duluth, Ga., Steven Stokke, Elk Mound, Wis.; stepdaughter, Dawn Ullrich, Rosenberg, Texas; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

WINTER HAVEN -- Ms. Jessica Lyn Morehouse of Winter Haven died Monday (Aug. 2, 2004) at Bartow Memorial Hospital. The cause of death is pending autopsy results. She was 22.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Jan. 30, 1982, she came to Winter Haven at an early age. She was a homemaker. She was a Lutheran.
Ms. Morehouse is survived by her parents, Paul E. and Donna Morehouse, Winter Haven; son, Joshua Morehouse, Winter Haven; brother, Stephen Morehouse, Winter Haven; grandparents, Frank and Jane Abraham, Flagler Beach, Mary and John Ryken, Slidel, La.
